Your Alfa Romeo Stelvio leasing decision

Intelligent Vehicle Finance helps business and private drivers assess Alfa Romeo Stelvio leasing. The current UK range centres on a petrol SUV, while our catalogue also contains older diesel and Quadrifoglio entries. Match the exact vehicle to your journeys, equipment needs and tax position before choosing an agreement.

Choose the Stelvio for the driving experience you want

The Stelvio is a useful starting point when you want an Alfa Romeo with SUV access and luggage flexibility, yet still place the driving position and controls near the top of your shortlist. Its case is personal as well as practical: a director using one car for client visits and family travel needs to like the car after a long working day, not simply recognise its badge.

Start with the journeys that occupy most of your week. A petrol Stelvio does not need a charging routine, but fuel consumption and company-car tax deserve proper attention. If a low-emission commute or a substantially electrified company-car choice is your main objective, compare a different powertrain before becoming attached to a particular Stelvio trim.

Alfa Romeo Stelvio leasing: key facts

  • Alfa Romeo UK currently presents the core Stelvio with a 280 HP petrol engine; that is not a specification for every catalogue row.
  • The current 2.0 petrol technical guide specifies an eight-speed automatic gearbox and Q4 all-wheel drive.
  • Alfa Romeo quotes 4,687 mm length and up to 525 litres of boot capacity on its UK model page; check the actual vehicle and load shape.
  • The IVF capture on 28 September 2026 contains seven derivative rows, including diesel and Quadrifoglio labels; a listing does not confirm supply.
  • Alfa Romeo’s UK warranty is three years, with unlimited mileage for the first two years and a 60,000-mile limit in year three, subject to its terms.
  • GOV.UK: the maximum company-car BiK band is 37% in 2026/27 and 39% in 2029/30; the exact car can fall in a lower band.

Which Stelvio versions does IVF list?

On 28 September 2026 the IVF grid lists 2.0 Turbo 280 Sprint, Veloce and Tributo Italiano petrol automatics; 2.2 D 210 Sprint, Veloce and Tributo Italiano diesel automatics; and a 2.9 V6 BiTurbo Quadrifoglio automatic. The six four-cylinder entries carry AWD in their catalogue names. These names describe the captured ratebook, not seven confirmed vehicles awaiting an order.

Alfa Romeo’s current UK presentation highlights Sprint, Veloce and Intensa with the 280 HP petrol engine, and separately points to Stelvio Quadrifoglio. It also retains some older Tributo Italiano and diesel references. That mismatch means a fresh manufacturer specification must be matched to the actual quotation. Intensa is not in this captured IVF grid, so it is not presented here as an available IVF derivative.

For an older diesel label, ask IVF to establish the vehicle’s model year, registration status and exact UK documentation before discussing suitability. For Quadrifoglio, obtain its own technical specification, insurance quotation and operating-cost assessment. Do not apply the core petrol model’s equipment or performance figures to the V6 because both vehicles use the Stelvio name.

Sprint, Veloce and the equipment that affects everyday use

The manufacturer’s current model selector differentiates Sprint and Veloce through equipment including wheels, seating and the Veloce limited-slip differential. Treat the selector as a way to frame your questions, then check the offered car’s equipment schedule. A familiar trim name does not settle the position for a vehicle built under a different model-year specification.

Wheel choice should be a deliberate decision. Ask for the wheel and tyre sizes in the quote, check replacement-tyre cover if maintenance is included, and drive over the surfaces you regularly encounter. A photograph of a higher specification does not tell you what the quoted car includes, nor whether its ride suits your daily route.

Check the boot, parking space and family routine

The published exterior length and boot-capacity benchmark are useful screening figures, not a substitute for checking your own load. Take the pushchair, work cases or sports equipment you normally carry. Look at the opening, the floor and the shape left once rear passengers are seated. Litres do not describe whether a rigid case lies flat.

Measure your parking bay with room to open the doors, unload and walk around the tailgate. Check mirror clearance separately rather than using a body-width figure from an unrelated version. A car that fits between the markings can still be inconvenient in a narrow workplace space, particularly when someone needs assistance getting out.

If towing is part of the brief, supply the trailer’s plated weights and intended load before choosing a derivative. Ask for written confirmation of the actual vehicle’s towing approval, permitted masses and compatible towbar. The core petrol technical guide cannot establish the towing allowance for every diesel or Quadrifoglio entry in the catalogue.

Stelvio business lease or personal contract hire?

For a company driver, examine the P11D value and certified emissions beside the agreement terms. The core petrol specification sits in the high-emissions company-car bands. A lower negotiated rental does not lower the car’s P11D value or change its CO2 certification. Ask your accountant to compare the employee tax and company cost together.

A private driver’s priorities are different: total hire commitment, annual distance, insurance, fuel and the condition required at return. Build the mileage allowance from commuting, regular family journeys and occasional longer trips. If the annual distance is uncertain, ask how the funder handles a mileage amendment during the term.

Warranty and the point at which your cover changes

Alfa Romeo’s UK warranty terms were checked on 28 September 2026. They describe three years of cover, unlimited mileage in the first two years and a 60,000-mile limit in the third. Coverage begins under the vehicle’s registration terms. Confirm the start date, remaining cover and exclusions for the particular car rather than assuming a fresh warranty starts when your lease begins.

Alfa Romeo Stelvio company-car tax across the lease

The Stelvio’s petrol and diesel catalogue entries need a CO2-based company-car calculation. For the high-emissions versions shown, the maximum-band path is the relevant starting benchmark, subject to checking the supplied vehicle’s documentation.

For an employee or director with private use, the taxable benefit normally starts with the car’s P11D value multiplied by the applicable BiK percentage. Personal tax then depends on the individual’s income tax rate and any relevant adjustments. The percentage is not the tax rate applied to the lease rental. A sole trader’s own business car use follows different rules.

The agreement can cross several tax years. Compare the whole path, not just the percentage in the year the car arrives.

These are conditional tax bands, not assigned rates for every Alfa Romeo Stelvio. Confirm the supplied car’s P11D, certified CO2, fuel type and registration date. Diesel supplements can apply where the required emissions certification is absent, subject to the annual maximum.

Use our company-car BiK guide alongside HMRC’s 2026/27 and 2027/28 tables and the published 2028/29 and 2029/30 changes. Tax information checked 28 September 2026 against the C1 ledger and its primary sources. Tax treatment depends on individual circumstances and may change; consult your accountant.

Road tax and costs across the term

Vehicle Excise Duty (VED). The 2026/27 standard annual payment after the first year is £200 before any supplement. First-year tax depends on certified CO2 and registration rules. A current core petrol Stelvio benchmark of 192-204 g/km falls within the £3,420 first-year band in 2026/27. Confirm the supplied car; do not apply that amount to the diesel or Quadrifoglio. Later annual cash rates are not fixed here.

Expensive Car Supplement. For petrol and diesel cars with a published list price above £40,000, the 2026/27 supplement is £440 annually for five years from the second licence. Options and registration history matter; a rental discount does not remove the supplement. Check the funder’s treatment of VED and increases against GOV.UK’s VED rules.

Planned eVED. The announced April 2028 mileage charge concerns electric and plug-in hybrid cars. The combustion Stelvio versions discussed here are outside that proposed scope. Do not add an electric-car charge to their forecast simply because the agreement extends beyond 2028. If comparing a different electrified model, revisit the government’s eVED proposal; legislation and implementation remain relevant.

VAT and the business accounts

VAT-registered businesses can normally reclaim 50% of the VAT on qualifying car rentals where private use is available, depending on circumstances and the normal VAT rules. Full rental-VAT recovery requires exclusive business use with no private availability. Maintenance can fall outside the rental block when it is genuinely optional, separately described in the contract and separately quantified on the invoice; recovery remains subject to normal VAT rules. Read HMRC’s motoring VAT guidance.

The hire-cost rules normally disallow 15% of otherwise deductible rentals for cars above 50 g/km, subject to their scope and exceptions. A company-car BiK easement does not establish relief from this restriction. Check HMRC’s car-hire deduction rules.

For accounting periods beginning on or after 1 January 2026, revised FRS 102 generally requires a right-of-use asset and lease liability for lessees, including small companies using Section 1A. FRS 105 lease accounting for eligible micro-entities was not changed in the same way. Contract hire therefore does not universally keep a car off the balance sheet. Ask your accountant to apply the right framework; HMRC summarises the accounting standards.

Flat Rate Scheme users generally cannot reclaim VAT on recurring car-hire payments. Ask your accountant which VAT regime applies before using the recovery examples above.

Build the quotation around the way you will use it

Tell IVF your annual mileage, regular passengers, essential equipment, charging access where relevant and preferred timing. Ask for the precise model year, derivative, options and registration status to be written into the quotation. The catalogue is a starting point; the offered vehicle and funder terms need confirmation.

Business Contract Hire is taken by the business; Personal Contract Hire is taken by the private individual. Both are subject to status and individual funder criteria. Compare the initial rental, term, mileage, maintenance and applicable fees on the same basis. An initial rental is part of the hire cost, not refundable security or ownership equity.

A manufacturer warranty starts under the supplied car’s warranty terms, normally from first registration. Its time and mileage limits may finish before your lease does. It is separate from optional servicing and tyre cover. Confirm maintenance inclusions, insurance responsibilities, tax provisions and early-termination terms before signing.

At the end of contract hire, return the vehicle; there is no contractual purchase option. Excess mileage, damage beyond the funder’s fair wear and tear standard, missing equipment or other contractual charges may still be payable. Check the return process before choosing your agreement.

Alfa Romeo Stelvio leasing questions

Can I lease an Alfa Romeo Stelvio through my business?

IVF can assess a business contract hire enquiry, subject to status, funder criteria and vehicle availability. Start with the exact Stelvio derivative and certified emissions, then compare the company commitment and any employee private-use benefit with your accountant.

Is the current Stelvio electric or plug-in hybrid?

The core Stelvio currently presented by Alfa Romeo UK is petrol. The captured IVF grid contains petrol and diesel entries, with no electric or plug-in hybrid Stelvio. Explore a different model if plugging in is central to your plans.

Why does IVF list diesel Stelvios alongside the petrol range?

The catalogue includes 2.2 D 210 entries, while current manufacturer material emphasises petrol and retains some older references. Ask IVF to confirm the model year, UK specification and supply position of a particular diesel before relying on its listing.

Does the page include Stelvio Quadrifoglio?

The captured grid has a 2.9 V6 BiTurbo Quadrifoglio entry. It needs its own specification and cost checks. The standard petrol technical figures on this page must not be treated as Quadrifoglio figures.

Should I choose Sprint or Veloce?

Choose around equipment you will use, seat comfort and the offered car’s exact specification. Check the model year and options schedule before comparing trims, and test the wheel and tyre combination on your usual roads.

How practical is the Stelvio for luggage?

Check your regular luggage in the vehicle with the rear seats positioned for passengers. The manufacturer’s volume benchmark cannot describe the opening or fit of bulky objects. Test the tailgate clearance at home as well as the floor space.

Can I use a Stelvio lease for towing?

Only proceed after the vehicle’s approved towing limits, trailer requirements, towbar and contract permissions are confirmed. Different engines and specifications can require different assessments. Provide your intended load and trailer details with the enquiry.

What affects a Stelvio lease quotation?

The vehicle specification, contract length, mileage, initial rental, maintenance selection and funder terms affect the quotation. The grid displays rental information; request a written comparison using the same assumptions for each shortlisted car.

Will the warranty cover the whole lease?

Not necessarily. Check the first-registration date and warranty mileage limit against your intended distance and return date. Warranty and maintenance cover different things, so ask for the terms of each rather than assuming one replaces the other.

What should I send IVF to begin?

Send your preferred Stelvio, business or personal agreement choice, expected annual mileage, term, essential equipment and timing. Mention towing or unusual use immediately. IVF can then investigate the relevant vehicle and provide the contractual details for review.
