Intelligent Vehicle Finance was established in 2015 as the first partner brand of XLCR Vehicle Management — a company with roots going back to 2000 and a reputation as one of the UK’s most respected vehicle leasing intermediaries.
From the start, we set out to do things differently: lower overheads, stronger funder relationships, and a relentless focus on customer experience. We don’t operate from flashy showrooms. Instead, we invest in the things that actually matter — finding the right vehicle, securing the sharpest terms, and making the whole process painless.
In December 2023, XLCR was acquired by Global Vans — backed by private equity firm H2 Equity Partners — and in early 2025 the group expanded further with the addition of The LCV Group and, in June 2025, the award-winning Fleet Alliance. Together, these businesses now form the Global Vehicle Group (GVG), the UK’s largest B2B-focused leasing broker.
Through it all, Intelligent Vehicle Finance has kept its identity: a specialist car leasing broker for SMEs, limited companies, sole traders, and discerning private clients who expect a personal, expert service — now backed by the infrastructure and buying power of a group managing over 70,000 vehicles with a total funded value exceeding £2.5 billion.

Key Milestones
2000 — XLCR Founded
Lee Duerden and Shaun O’Neill establish XLCR Vehicle Management in Colne, Lancashire, building proprietary leasing technology from the ground up.
2002 — Global Vans Launches
Andrew Hurst founds Global Vans in Bristol, focusing on tailored van leasing solutions for SMEs. Later joined by co-director Jonathan Lewis in 2009.
2015 — Intelligent Vehicle Finance Established
The first XLCR partner brand is born, bringing a premium, service-led approach to car leasing for businesses and private clients.
2022 — H2 Equity Partners Invests
Private equity firm H2 Equity Partners takes a minority stake in Global Vans, providing the platform for strategic acquisitions and accelerated growth.
2023 — XLCR Joins Global Vans
Global Vans acquires XLCR Vehicle Management, combining van and car expertise to form the foundation of the Global Vehicle Group.
2025 — Global Vehicle Group Formed
With the addition of The LCV Group (January) and Fleet Alliance (June), the Global Vehicle Group becomes the UK’s largest B2B-focused leasing broker — over 70,000 vehicles and £2.5bn+ in funded value.
