Your IVECO Daily leasing decision

Intelligent Vehicle Finance helps businesses assess IVECO Daily leasing from the finished load and operating category upwards. The wider UK range spans 3.5 to 7.2 tonnes and includes chassis-cab applications. Diesel and eDaily need separate specifications; heavier versions require specialist checks before the business commits to a vehicle or agreement.

Daily business leasing starts with an operating category

Daily spans duties that extend beyond a conventional light van. A business may need a large enclosed carrier, a chassis for a specialist installation or a heavier vehicle that carries equipment a lighter specification cannot accommodate. Start with the completed working weight and body purpose. Selecting a weight category first because it seems familiar can leave the actual job without enough usable capacity.

IVECO’s UK range includes van and chassis-cab applications across 3.5 to 7.2 tonnes. That is a range description, not a promise that every wheelbase, roof, engine or body is offered at every weight. Ask for the exact combination and approval category on the quotation. Keep the operating plan beside the vehicle specification so the business knows what changes if a heavier version is chosen.

Compare a lighter panel van if it can carry the duty. Choose a heavier Daily only with suitable drivers, maintenance facilities and operating arrangements.

IVECO Daily leasing: key facts

  • IVECO’s UK range includes Daily van and chassis-cab formats across 3.5 to 7.2 tonnes; each body has its own permitted combinations.
  • The UK-linked diesel brochure’s 3,520mm-wheelbase, 6,180mm-long van reference has a 3,540mm load compartment.
  • That body offers 12m³ in H2 or 13.4m³ in H3; the brochure gives internal heights of 1,900mm and 2,100mm respectively.
  • IVECO UK lists eDaily and links a 2026 electric brochure; its battery and weight configurations must be matched to the proposed vehicle.
  • The IVF catalogue contains Standard and Business, diesel and electric, panel and chassis-based descriptions; a row is not a completed-body specification.
  • A 7.2-tonne Daily cannot be assessed using ordinary 3.5-tonne van assumptions for drivers, operator licensing, tachographs or road tax.

Start with your completed body, heaviest load, drivers and journeys. We can discuss which Daily specifications merit a quotation.

Wheelbase, body length and roof are distinct measurements

The diesel Daily brochure currently linked from IVECO UK gives a useful named reference: a 3,520mm wheelbase van with 6,180mm overall length and 3,540mm load-compartment length. It lists 12m³ with H2 or 13.4m³ with H3. The respective maximum load heights are 1,900mm and 2,100mm, with 1,800mm compartment width. Confirm the exact version before applying these figures to an IVF entry.

Wheelbase alone does not identify overall length or overhang. Check the finished envelope, door openings and internal space against workshop bays, customer access and turning areas.

A chassis-cab needs a separate drawing for its completed body. The panel van’s load length and volume do not describe a box, dropside, tipper or mobile installation built on the chassis. Obtain the installer’s finished dimensions and access requirements, including anything extending above or behind the base vehicle. Confirm how it will be loaded, secured and maintained.

Payload must belong to the completed Daily

Gross vehicle weight is the permitted loaded total, not the cargo allowance. Daily’s wide range makes a single payload figure particularly unhelpful. Ask for the exact derivative’s mass definition, gross and axle limits, then a finished weight assessment once the body and equipment are specified. A chassis payload headline cannot be treated as the cargo capacity of an installed vehicle.

Separate the fixed installation from the varying working load. A tail-lift, tank, auxiliary batteries, storage and tools all consume allowance, as do occupants on the relevant measurement basis. Consider the heaviest operating state, such as collected materials on the return journey or a full tank feeding specialist equipment. Check axle loading as well as the overall total.

For towing, use the actual vehicle, coupling, trailer and train limits together. Neither the largest Daily range towing headline nor the gross weight of a different chassis establishes the permissible combination. Provide the intended trailer and loaded weights to the supplier and operating adviser before accepting the vehicle. This page does not certify a payload for an unspecified conversion.

eDaily: select the battery for the vehicle and duty

IVECO UK lists eDaily at the 28 September 2026 check and links a 2026 brochure. That document distinguishes battery and weight configurations. Its 35S van H1, 3,520mm-wheelbase reference with a 77kWh battery has a stated WLTP range of 290km, approximately 180 miles. This is a named brochure benchmark, not a range assigned to every IVF eDaily listing.

The source specifies test conditions including a new fully charged battery, 23°C cells, an economy driving mode and no heating or air conditioning. Confirm the actual body, battery, model year, tyres and equipment on the quotation. Loaded routes, winter conditions, motorway speed and auxiliary demand can produce a different result. Do not transfer that 35S figure to a heavier twin-wheel chassis or a completed specialist body.

The charging table gives the 77/74kWh reference a 20-80% time of around 30 minutes at 80kW DC. It separately lists higher-power capability for other battery configurations. Confirm the quoted vehicle’s hardware and the manufacturer’s conditions; a larger charger does not automatically reproduce a reference for another battery. Assess the genuine time available between duties and a fallback if the intended charger cannot be used.

Check each driver’s entitlement against the actual vehicle

GOV.UK’s current category page distinguishes category B limits for petrol and diesel vehicles from zero-emission electric or hydrogen provisions. It lists up to 3,500kg maximum authorised mass for the former and 4,250kg for the latter under the stated category B rules. This does not mean every driver can operate every Daily or that all other obligations disappear below those limits.

Category C1 covers vehicles between 3,500kg and 7,500kg maximum authorised mass, with the stated trailer limit; other categories and trailer entitlements have their own scope. Check the driver’s actual licence record, restrictions and the proposed combination. A business considering a 7.2-tonne Daily should obtain specialist advice and confirm any professional-driver requirements relevant to its use.

Use GOV.UK driving-licence categories as the starting source, checked 28 September 2026. Do not assume an employee has a particular entitlement from their age or from having driven a similar-looking van. Build the driver check into the vehicle allocation process before the new category enters service.

Operator licensing and tachographs are separate questions

GOV.UK says a goods vehicle operator’s licence is usually needed for business goods transport using a vehicle over 3,500kg gross plated weight, subject to the relevant rules and exemptions. Trailer combinations and some international work have further provisions. Assess the actual activity, whether goods are your own or carried for others, and where the vehicle will operate.

Driver-hours and tachograph requirements also depend on the vehicle and operation. A tachograph being fitted is not a finding that the business is compliant, while a driving-licence entitlement is not an exemption from operating rules. Have a competent adviser establish the applicable regime, records and any valid exemptions for the work intended.

Read the goods vehicle operator guidance and GOV.UK tachograph rules, checked 28 September 2026. For heavier Daily variants, resolve the operating position before ordering and assign responsibility for it within the business. This is a general explanation of the checks, not an individual legal assessment.

Specify the workshop and body support as carefully as the chassis

The IVF capture contains a broad range of Daily codes, wheelbases, roof descriptions, Standard and Business equipment, diesel and electric entries, and chassis-based bodies. Decode the exact offered version with the supplier. Do not combine a 35S catalogue label, a heavier chassis figure and an electric brochure benchmark into one vehicle.

IVECO’s commercial service network and body-builder provision are relevant to a working Daily, but the actual local capability needs confirmation. Ask whether the workshop can accommodate the completed size and weight, diagnose its powertrain and coordinate with the converter. Check warranty commencement, mileage limits, scheduled maintenance and any separate installation cover against the supplied vehicle.

Daily tax depends on the completed vehicle and use

For a qualifying van with chargeable private use, the 2026/27 standard benefit is £4,170 and the separate private-fuel benefit is £798. A qualifying zero-emission van currently has nil van benefit. These values should not be applied automatically to every heavier Daily or unusual conversion: establish the tax definition first.

Business-use exemptions and any private availability need the accountant’s assessment. The vehicle’s weight, construction and purpose can matter, and a heavy goods vehicle should not simply be assigned a familiar company-car percentage. The individual’s tax bill is separate from the published taxable benefit value.

Recheck the correct annual position in 2027/28, 2028/29 and 2029/30 where the contract spans those years. No later cash van-benefit values are assumed here.

GOV.UK van benefits and exempt-use conditions checked 28 September 2026. Seek accountant advice for the actual vehicle; tax treatment can change.

Road tax and costs across the term

Vehicle Excise Duty (VED). The £360 single annual 2026/27 TC39 payment applies to qualifying light goods vehicles registered from 1 March 2001 and not over 3,500kg revenue weight, including electric vans. Heavier Daily versions require a separate VED class and rate assessment; do not extend this figure across the range. GOV.UK vehicle tax tables checked 28 September 2026.

Expensive Car Supplement. The car Expensive Car Supplement is not a general charge on an expensive commercial Daily. Establish the completed vehicle’s tax category and the actual road-tax provision in the agreement.

Planned eVED. The July 2026 government response excludes vans and HGVs from eVED at its planned April 2028 introduction. Recheck future implementation for the registered category; normal VED remains a separate cost. Read the eVED response.

VAT and the business accounts

VAT recovery for Daily hire and body equipment depends on the business, use and invoice structure. Use HMRC Notice 700/64 and the IVF VAT guide rather than borrowing a passenger-car rule.

Ask your accountant to consider the complete agreement, any conversion expenditure, rental deductions, relevant capital allowances and accounting framework independently of the benefit assessment.

Talk through the vehicle and agreement with IVF. Call 01752 429950 or request a callback with your business requirements.

Build the quotation around the way you will use it

Tell IVF your annual mileage, crew, loads, towing, fitted equipment, charging access where relevant and preferred timing. Ask for the precise model year, derivative, options and registration status to be written into the quotation. The catalogue is a starting point; the offered vehicle and funder terms need confirmation.

Business Contract Hire is taken by the business; Personal Contract Hire is taken by the private individual. Both are subject to status and individual funder criteria. Compare the initial rental, term, mileage, maintenance and applicable fees on the same basis. An initial rental is part of the hire cost, not refundable security or ownership equity.

A manufacturer warranty starts under the supplied vehicle’s warranty terms, normally from first registration. Its time and mileage limits may finish before your lease does. It is separate from optional servicing and tyre cover. Confirm maintenance inclusions, insurance responsibilities, tax provisions and early-termination terms before signing.

At the end of contract hire, return the vehicle; there is no contractual purchase option. Excess mileage, damage beyond the funder’s fair wear and tear standard, missing equipment or other contractual charges may still be payable. Check the return process before choosing your agreement.

Have your load, people, route and annual mileage requirements ready. Let us help you narrow the specification.

IVECO Daily leasing questions

Does Daily only mean a 3.5-tonne van?

No. IVECO’s wider UK range spans van and chassis-cab applications from 3.5 to 7.2 tonnes. Available combinations vary, so identify the exact body and weight category rather than using one specification for the whole family.

Is gross vehicle weight the cargo payload?

No. It is the permitted loaded total. The body, equipment and occupants consume part of that allowance. Obtain the exact derivative and completed vehicle weights, including axle limits, before setting a working load.

Can the wheelbase code identify all the load dimensions?

No. Body length, overhang and roof also matter. Confirm overall and internal measurements for the actual vehicle, and use the converter’s finished drawing where equipment or a separate body is fitted.

Does IVECO UK currently list eDaily?

Yes. The UK site lists eDaily and links a 2026 brochure at the September check. Supply and the exact body, battery and weight configuration still need confirmation through the quotation.

Can every eDaily use the same range figure?

No. The brochure separates battery and weight configurations and states test conditions. Match the offered vehicle’s body, battery, tyres and equipment, then assess the loaded duty and auxiliary energy demand.

Will a category B licence cover a 7.2-tonne Daily?

Do not assume it does. Check the actual licence entitlement and vehicle category through GOV.UK and specialist advice. The current zero-emission category B provisions do not extend ordinary entitlement across the entire Daily range.

Does the right driving licence settle operator licensing?

No. Goods vehicle operator licensing depends on the vehicle and business operation. Trailer combinations and international work can introduce further considerations. It is a separate assessment from an individual’s driving entitlement.

Does a fitted tachograph prove the business is compliant?

No. Applicable drivers’ hours, records, use and any exemptions must be established for the operation. Equipment fitment is only one part of the assessment and does not replace competent operating advice.

Why must a heavier Daily have its VED checked separately?

The quoted light goods TC39 scope ends at 3,500kg revenue weight. A heavier vehicle can fall into another category, so its actual class and rate must be confirmed instead of applying the lighter-van figure.

What should IVF receive for a Daily quotation?

Provide the finished body requirement, heaviest load, equipment, drivers, operating area, trailer details if relevant, mileage and term. Include the compliance and service arrangements needed for the proposed vehicle category.
