Your Vauxhall Frontera leasing decision

Intelligent Vehicle Finance helps you compare Vauxhall Frontera hybrid and electric leasing. Begin with passenger numbers: the seven-seat option belongs to eligible hybrid versions, not the electric range. Then decide whether charging fits your routine and confirm the exact battery, trim and model year before comparing hire quotations.

Choose Frontera around passengers before power

Frontera is a family SUV choice where the seating brief can decide the powertrain before anything else. If you need occasional extra passenger places, check the eligible seven-seat hybrid versions first. If five places are enough and dependable charging is available, the electric versions deserve their own comparison. Neither decision should begin with the number of catalogue rows on the page.

Seven seats do not prove comfort for seven adults plus luggage. Test the actual occupants and load with every required seat upright. Regular full-capacity travel may call for another vehicle.

Vauxhall Frontera leasing: key facts

  • Vauxhall UK currently lists Frontera petrol hybrid and fully electric powertrains.
  • Five seats are standard; seven seats are an option on eligible GS and Ultimate Hybrid versions in current UK material.
  • The electric range has 44kWh and 54kWh battery descriptions; neither should inherit the other’s range or charging specification.
  • Current grade names include Design, GS and Ultimate, with equipment dependent on the exact derivative.
  • Vauxhall’s vehicle warranty is three years, with unlimited first-year mileage and a 60,000-mile limit thereafter for cars; battery terms are separate.
  • GOV.UK: the maximum company-car BiK band is 37% in 2026/27 and 39% in 2029/30; the exact car can fall in a lower band.

Understand the 50 captured derivative rows

The live route checked on 28 September 2026 contains 50 entries. These include hybrid power descriptions, Design, GS and Ultimate grades, named seven-seat versions, 44kWh electric and 54kWh Extended Range electric versions, plus wheel, pack and NI suffixes. The quantity reflects catalogue combinations; it does not represent 50 distinct vehicles confirmed in stock.

Older hybrid descriptions remain alongside newer 110 and 145 labels. Vauxhall’s current web material itself contains both earlier and later power descriptions, so the final quotation needs the current dated technical sheet for the exact model year. Do not resolve an inconsistency by silently changing a catalogue name or treating two differently specified rows as identical.

Five seats or seven: inspect the configuration

Vauxhall UK states that the seven-seat option is available on eligible GS and Ultimate Hybrid versions. The electric range is a five-seat task. Ask the supplier to show the actual rear-seat mechanism, access and restraint arrangement; a photograph of a hybrid interior is not evidence that an electric derivative has a third row.

Use the intended passengers for the demonstration and leave enough time to fit any child seats. Check how the second-row position affects access to the back and how much luggage remains when every required seat is upright. Decide where everyday bags and emergency equipment will go. A seats-folded boot figure cannot answer that full-passenger question.

Hybrid Frontera needs petrol, not a charging cable

The petrol hybrid operates without external charging. That can suit a household or business driver whose parking arrangements make plugging in difficult. It is not a plug-in hybrid, and the presence of an electric motor does not mean a whole workday can be completed without petrol. Its certified CO2 still determines company-car treatment.

Try the transmission in queues, on gradients and during low-speed manoeuvres. If the vehicle will be shared, ensure each driver is comfortable with the controls and visibility. The power figure alone does not tell you whether the car feels suitable with the intended passengers aboard; a representative drive is more useful than comparing acceleration headlines.

Electric Frontera: distinguish the two battery choices

The current manufacturer material and IVF catalogue identify 44kWh and 54kWh electric versions. A larger battery label can change the journey calculation, but the correct range benchmark still depends on the supplied model year, trim and wheels. Ask for those details together, including the onboard AC and DC charging specifications and the cables included.

This page avoids attaching a single range or charging time to all Frontera Electric entries. Vauxhall’s current online headline and detailed range text do not agree consistently, making derivative confirmation particularly useful. Plan around regular routes, weather and charging access rather than the largest number on a web page. A reliable charging location remains necessary whichever battery you choose.

Equipment that changes daily family use

Design, GS and Ultimate should be compared through the equipment that solves your own problem. Parking aids may matter more than a styling pack on a tight driveway; seat or screen preferences may matter more on long school and work runs. Check the quoted list for the exact grade, since a demonstrator can include optional equipment.

Try loading, tailgate clearance and everyday cabin storage. Ask for a demonstration of assistance functions and their limits; they support an attentive driver rather than replacing observation.

Compare Mokka and Grandland against the same brief

Mokka is a useful alternative when the Frontera’s additional seating flexibility is not required and a different compact body better suits parking or personal preference. It is not a substitute for a seven-seat requirement. Compare actual rear access and boot shape before assuming two SUVs perform the same family task.

Compare Grandland independently for cabin and journey requirements. Frontera’s seating and battery choices do not transfer to it. Our electric car leasing guide helps you assess charging access.

Warranty, mileage and the final specification

Vauxhall’s current warranty provides three years of vehicle cover from registration, unlimited mileage in the first year and a 60,000-mile car limit thereafter. Its electric high-voltage battery protection has separate eight-year or 100,000-mile terms. Exclusions apply, and those headlines do not include routine servicing, tyres or all accidental damage.

Specify seat count, powertrain, battery and model year in the order. Demonstrate folding seats or charging setup at handover as relevant. Ask IVF to explain any NI or pack suffix before agreeing terms.

Vauxhall Frontera company-car tax across the lease

Frontera Electric is a zero-emission car; Frontera Hybrid is not. The captured hybrid entries include 119g/km, but that must not be assigned to every seven-seat, wheel or model-year combination. The petrol-hybrid row below is conditional on the offered car falling within the stated band.

The taxable benefit for an employee or director with private use normally starts with the supplied vehicle’s P11D value and the appropriate annual percentage. Apply the driver’s income tax position separately. A business’s hire payments are a different calculation; sole traders need advice on their own circumstances.

Use our company-car BiK guide alongside HMRC’s 2026/27 and 2027/28 tables and the published 2028/29 and 2029/30 changes. Tax information checked 28 September 2026 against the C1 ledger and its primary sources. Tax treatment depends on individual circumstances and may change; consult your accountant.

Road tax and costs across the term

Vehicle Excise Duty (VED). For 2026/27, the standard annual VED payment after the first year is £200 before any supplement. First-year VED depends on CO2 and registration rules; zero-emission cars currently have a £10 first-year rate. These cash rates apply to 2026/27 only; later annual VED rates are not confirmed here. Ask how the funder treats tax increases during your agreement.

Expensive Car Supplement. The Expensive Car Supplement is £440 a year in 2026/27 for five years from the second licence. The list-price threshold is more than £40,000 for petrol, diesel and hybrid cars, or more than £50,000 for qualifying zero-emission cars registered from 1 April 2025. Use the published list price before discounts, including relevant options, and check the registration date. Plug-in hybrids do not receive the electric-car threshold. GOV.UK explains VED and the supplement.

Planned eVED. The government plans Electric Vehicle Excise Duty (eVED) from April 2028, alongside VED: 3p per mile for electric cars and 1.5p per mile for plug-in hybrids. This is proposed for April 2028, subject to legislation and implementation; it is not a charge currently in force. The stated rates are planned starting rates, with CPI uprating proposed from 2029/30 and later cash rates not confirmed. An agreement spanning introduction needs the funder’s written treatment of the charge and later changes. Check the government’s consultation response and final implementation guidance before committing.

VAT and the business accounts

VAT-registered businesses can normally reclaim 50% of the VAT on qualifying car rentals where private use is available, depending on circumstances and the normal VAT rules. Full rental-VAT recovery requires exclusive business use with no private availability. Maintenance can fall outside the rental block when it is genuinely optional, separately described in the contract and separately quantified on the invoice; recovery remains subject to normal VAT rules. Read HMRC’s motoring VAT guidance.

The hire-cost rules normally disallow 15% of otherwise deductible rentals for cars above 50 g/km, subject to their scope and exceptions. A company-car BiK easement does not establish relief from this restriction. Check HMRC’s car-hire deduction rules.

For accounting periods beginning on or after 1 January 2026, revised FRS 102 generally requires a right-of-use asset and lease liability for lessees, including small companies using Section 1A. FRS 105 lease accounting for eligible micro-entities was not changed in the same way. Contract hire therefore does not universally keep a car off the balance sheet. Ask your accountant to apply the right framework; HMRC summarises the accounting standards.

Flat Rate Scheme users generally cannot reclaim VAT on recurring car-hire payments. Ask your accountant which VAT regime applies before using the recovery examples above.

Build the quotation around the way you will use it

Tell IVF your annual mileage, regular passengers, essential equipment, charging access where relevant and preferred timing. Ask for the precise model year, derivative, options and registration status to be written into the quotation. The catalogue is a starting point; the offered vehicle and funder terms need confirmation.

Business Contract Hire is taken by the business; Personal Contract Hire is taken by the private individual. Both are subject to status and individual funder criteria. Compare the initial rental, term, mileage, maintenance and applicable fees on the same basis. An initial rental is part of the hire cost, not refundable security or ownership equity.

A manufacturer warranty starts under the supplied car’s warranty terms, normally from first registration. Its time and mileage limits may finish before your lease does. It is separate from optional servicing and tyre cover. Confirm maintenance inclusions, insurance responsibilities, tax provisions and early-termination terms before signing.

At the end of contract hire, return the vehicle; there is no contractual purchase option. Excess mileage, damage beyond the funder’s fair wear and tear standard, missing equipment or other contractual charges may still be payable. Check the return process before choosing your agreement.

Vauxhall Frontera leasing questions

Is every Vauxhall Frontera a seven-seater?

No. Five seats are standard. Vauxhall UK identifies a seven-seat option for eligible GS and Ultimate Hybrid versions. Confirm the exact seat count on the order and test rear access and luggage space with the intended passengers. A hybrid or SUV badge alone does not establish seven seats.

Can I choose a seven-seat Frontera Electric?

The current UK material reviewed here places the seven-seat option on eligible hybrids, not the electric range. Treat the electric model as a five-seat choice. If seven seats and electric driving are both essential, tell IVF so the shortlist can move to a suitable separate model.

Does the Frontera Hybrid need plugging in?

No. It is a petrol hybrid without external charging. It still uses fuel and follows certified CO2 company-car bands. Compare its actual driving routine with the battery-electric Frontera rather than applying an electric-car tax percentage to both.

Which electric batteries does IVF list?

The captured route includes 44kWh and 54kWh Extended Range labels. Confirm the supplied model year, usable capacity, wheels and charging equipment before applying any manufacturer range or charge-time benchmark. This pack deliberately avoids a universal numerical range claim across those different entries.

Why are so many Frontera versions listed?

The grid combines grades, batteries, hybrid descriptions, seat options, wheels and pack or NI suffixes. It also retains older descriptions. These are catalogue combinations, not a count of confirmed available vehicles. Ask IVF to identify the exact derivative and explain any suffix that affects your proposal.

How do Design, GS and Ultimate differ?

They are equipment grades to compare using the relevant current specification sheet. Prioritise the features needed for your passenger, parking and comfort requirements. Optional packs and model-year changes mean a display car or another powertrain’s grade is not a reliable substitute for the written order.

Should I consider Mokka instead of Frontera?

Consider Mokka when a different compact SUV layout could suit your journeys and you do not need Frontera’s eligible extra-seat option. Try the same occupants and luggage. If the main need is a different cabin or longer-journey brief, also investigate Grandland independently.

What warranty covers a Frontera?

Vauxhall states three years from registration, unlimited mileage in year one and a 60,000-mile car limit thereafter. The electric battery has separate eight-year or 100,000-mile terms. Confirm conditions, service obligations and the actual registration date; maintenance and tyre cover are different products.

How does Frontera company-car tax vary?

Electric and hybrid versions follow different percentage paths. A zero-emission car uses the electric row; a hybrid uses its certified CO2 and P11D. Seat configuration, model year and equipment can affect the precise specification, so the displayed catalogue figure needs confirmation before a personal tax calculation.

What needs confirming in a Frontera lease quote?

Include the seat count, powertrain, battery if electric, grade, options, annual distance and agreement length. Resolve older names and NI or pack suffixes. Compare initial rental, maintenance and applicable fees consistently, then check delivery timing and supply for the identified car rather than relying on the grid.
