Audi Q2 leasing is now a stock-dependent enquiry: Audi’s production statement set April 2026 as the end of Q2 production, and Audi UK qualifies availability by stock. Intelligent Vehicle Finance must confirm a specific car. For automatic searches, identify an S tronic derivative; compare Q3 and A3 alternatives if needed.
The Q2 is a focused choice if you want a compact Audi crossover and its cabin and loading arrangement suit you. For either business or private use, the first decision is whether an appropriate car can actually be supplied.
Audi’s production statement scheduled Q2 production to end in April 2026. Audi UK now explicitly qualifies the model by stock availability. That means a catalogue page should not be read as an invitation to specify any combination for a fresh factory order. Ask IVF to identify the car and its equipment before building the agreement around a preferred colour or package.
Automatic demand needs a precise answer. The captured list includes both entries without S tronic and entries explicitly labelled S tronic. If an automatic gearbox is essential, put it in the brief and verify the complete derivative. Sport, S line or Black Edition alone does not establish the transmission, and a search result that says Q2 may conceal the difference.
| Choice | Why consider it | What must be established |
|---|---|---|
| Q2 | Compact crossover shape and familiar petrol choices | A confirmed car, gearbox and equipment in the stock-dependent range |
| Q3 | Separate SUV alternative when a larger passenger or loading task matters | Actual dimensions and powertrain; do not assume a direct replacement |
| A3 | Hatchback or saloon route if an SUV body is not essential | Body style and loading access appropriate to your use |
Audi’s UK Q2 page itself points readers towards Q3 and A3 comparisons. Neither is described here as an identical successor or a promise of immediate supply.
IVF’s September route lists 30 TFSI 116 and 35 TFSI descriptions across Sport, S line and Black Edition, with Tech and Tech Pro package variants. The 35 TFSI appears in both standard and S tronic descriptions. SQ2 quattro Black Edition and Vorsprung entries are also present. This range summary records the route; it does not certify a particular car’s stock status.
Start by deciding whether the ordinary TFSI range or the separate SQ2 performance proposition is appropriate. A driver who wants compact dimensions and an automatic for commuting has a different brief from someone specifically seeking SQ2 performance. Higher equipment and power should have a purpose, since tyres, insurance and the overall agreement may differ.
For Black Edition searches, ask what the package includes on the actual model year. Exterior appearance is easy to see, but the parking, lighting and cabin equipment that affect daily use need a written list. Tech and Tech Pro should not be assumed to mean the same thing, and neither should be inferred simply from a photograph of a screen.
Because the range is stock-dependent, identify which preferences can change and which cannot. Gearbox, passenger suitability and required equipment may be non-negotiable; a paint colour may not be. That distinction helps IVF respond usefully if the initial combination cannot be sourced. It also prevents an attractive-looking alternative from slipping past a requirement that mattered at the start.
Use the Q2 demonstration to answer practical questions about your own routes. Set the driver’s seat, try the rear seat behind it and check how easily the people who use the car can get in. A higher seating position may be desirable, but the actual seat and door geometry need to suit you. An SUV label alone does not prove ease of access.
Bring the regular load. Shopping is one test; a folding pushchair, work case or sports equipment can be another. The manufacturer’s folded-seat volume is not the space available when rear passengers are aboard, and a total litre figure cannot show whether a particular object passes through the opening. Test the configuration you will use most often.
On the road, include low-speed manoeuvres and the surfaces you encounter around home or work. Check visibility and the operation of any fitted parking equipment. For an S tronic car, become comfortable with the controls during parking as well as normal driving. For a manual alternative, decide whether the change genuinely suits the daily task before revising the original brief.
A3 is worth including if the underlying requirement is a compact Audi rather than specifically an SUV. Identify the body style and test the loading opening, seating position and visibility. An A3 comparison can clarify which aspects of the Q2 you value: exterior format, cabin feel, ease of parking or a particular engine and transmission combination.
For a business driver, take the exact emissions and P11D value into the comparison. A petrol Q2 should not be described using an electric company-car tax assumption, and an attractive rental does not resolve the personal tax position. For a private driver, compare the same term, annual mileage and maintenance basis so the vehicle decision is not distorted by different contract structures.
Q2 TFSI and SQ2 are petrol choices in the captured range. Their company-car tax depends on certified emissions and the car’s P11D, not whether its gearbox is automatic or its trim is called Black Edition. Use the exact car’s band; the maximum below is only a reference.
For an employee or director with private use, the taxable benefit normally starts with the car’s P11D value multiplied by the applicable BiK percentage. Personal tax then depends on the individual’s income tax rate and any relevant adjustments. The percentage is not the tax rate applied to the lease rental. A sole trader’s own business car use follows different rules.
The agreement can cross several tax years. Compare the whole path, not just the percentage in the year the car arrives.
| Tax specification | 2026/27 | 2027/28 | 2028/29 | 2029/30 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| High-CO2 petrol or qualifying diesel at the maximum band | 37% | 37% | 38% | 39% |
These are conditional tax bands, not assigned rates for every Audi Q2. Confirm the supplied car’s P11D, certified CO2, fuel type and registration date. Diesel supplements can apply where the required emissions certification is absent, subject to the annual maximum.
Use our company-car BiK guide alongside HMRC’s 2026/27 and 2027/28 tables and the published 2028/29 and 2029/30 changes. Tax information checked 24 September 2026 against the C1 ledger and its primary sources. Tax treatment depends on individual circumstances and may change; consult your accountant.
Vehicle Excise Duty (VED). For 2026/27, the standard annual VED payment after the first year is £200 before any supplement. First-year VED depends on CO2 and registration rules; zero-emission cars currently have a £10 first-year rate. These cash rates apply to 2026/27 only; later annual VED rates are not confirmed here. Ask how the funder treats tax increases during your agreement.
Expensive Car Supplement. The Expensive Car Supplement is currently £440 a year for five years from the second licence. The list-price threshold is more than £40,000 for petrol, diesel and hybrid cars, or more than £50,000 for qualifying zero-emission cars registered from 1 April 2025. Use the published list price before discounts, including relevant options, and check the registration date. Plug-in hybrids do not receive the electric-car threshold. GOV.UK explains VED and the supplement.
Planned eVED. The government plans Electric Vehicle Excise Duty (eVED) from April 2028, alongside VED: 3p per mile for electric cars and 1.5p per mile for plug-in hybrids. This is proposed for April 2028, subject to legislation and implementation; it is not a charge currently in force. The stated rates are planned starting rates, with CPI uprating proposed from 2029/30 and later cash rates not confirmed. An agreement spanning introduction needs the funder’s written treatment of the charge and later changes. Check the government’s consultation response and final implementation guidance before committing. The Audi Q2 powertrain discussed here is outside those planned electric and plug-in hybrid categories.
VAT-registered businesses can normally reclaim 50% of the VAT on qualifying car rentals where private use is available, depending on circumstances and the normal VAT rules. Full rental-VAT recovery requires exclusive business use with no private availability. Maintenance can fall outside the rental block when it is genuinely optional, separately described in the contract and separately quantified on the invoice; recovery remains subject to normal VAT rules. Read HMRC’s motoring VAT guidance.
Businesses using the VAT Flat Rate Scheme do not normally recover input VAT on recurring car hire. The separate capital-goods exception does not turn hire invoices into a vehicle purchase. Check HMRC’s Flat Rate Scheme guidance.
The hire-cost rules normally disallow 15% of otherwise deductible rentals for cars above 50 g/km, subject to their scope and exceptions. A company-car BiK easement does not establish relief from this restriction. Check HMRC’s car-hire deduction rules.
For accounting periods beginning on or after 1 January 2026, revised FRS 102 generally requires a right-of-use asset and lease liability for lessees, including small companies using Section 1A. FRS 105 lease accounting for eligible micro-entities was not changed in the same way. Contract hire therefore does not universally keep a car off the balance sheet. Ask your accountant to apply the right framework; HMRC summarises the accounting standards.
Tell IVF your annual mileage, regular passengers, essential equipment, charging access where relevant and preferred timing. Ask for the precise model year, derivative, options and registration status to be written into the quotation. The catalogue is a starting point; the offered vehicle and funder terms need confirmation.
Business Contract Hire is taken by the business; Personal Contract Hire is taken by the private individual. Both are subject to status and individual funder criteria. Compare the initial rental, term, mileage, maintenance and applicable fees on the same basis. An initial rental is part of the hire cost, not refundable security or ownership equity.
A manufacturer warranty starts under the supplied car’s warranty terms, normally from first registration. Its time and mileage limits may finish before your lease does. It is separate from optional servicing and tyre cover. Confirm maintenance inclusions, insurance responsibilities, tax provisions and early-termination terms before signing.
At the end of contract hire, return the vehicle; there is no contractual purchase option. Excess mileage, damage beyond the funder’s fair wear and tear standard, missing equipment or other contractual charges may still be payable. Check the return process before choosing your agreement.
Use Audi model range, Q3 leasing, A3 leasing, company-car tax guide, request an IVF callback to narrow your choice or discuss a quotation.
Enquire on a stock-dependent basis. Audi’s production statement scheduled production to end in April 2026, and Audi UK states that Q2 availability depends on stock. IVF must confirm an individual car and its specification; the catalogue does not establish an open factory-order route or a vehicle allocation.
Look for S tronic in the full derivative description and have the gearbox confirmed in writing. The captured IVF route includes 35 TFSI S tronic and SQ2 S tronic entries, alongside other descriptions. Sport, S line and Black Edition are not sufficient by themselves to identify transmission.
Black Edition appears in the captured Q2 catalogue, including TFSI and SQ2 descriptions. The precise engine, gearbox, package and current supply must be checked. A Black Edition badge does not mean all listed cars share the same performance or equipment.
They identify package descriptions in the captured catalogue. Ask for the equipment schedule for the actual model year and car, then compare the features you need. Do not assume a photograph or a broad trim label establishes all parking, lighting or infotainment equipment.
Treat SQ2 as a separate performance choice within the captured route, not simply an appearance package. Confirm its powertrain, equipment and running costs in the quotation. A driver seeking an ordinary automatic Q2 should not assume an SQ2 is a like-for-like replacement.
Yes, particularly if your passenger or loading needs are greater than the Q2 can comfortably meet or its required specification cannot be supplied. Q3 is a separate SUV. Check its real dimensions, equipment and contract costs rather than describing it as an identical substitute.
An A3 may be relevant if you want a compact Audi but do not require the Q2’s crossover format. Identify the body style, seating position and load access that suit you. Test those requirements directly instead of assuming the SUV shape is necessary.
Yes. Tell IVF whether the agreement would be with the business or you personally, then specify the car, gearbox, mileage and term. Any proposal remains subject to status, funder criteria and confirmed supply. Business tax consequences depend on the actual vehicle and circumstances.
The identifiable car, engine, trim, options, initial rental, annual mileage, agreement length and maintenance basis affect the proposal. Compare the same inputs across funders. Stock-dependent supply means an online catalogue description is not a fixed commitment to a particular vehicle or handover date.
Confirm its full specification, registration status, warranty start and physical condition before committing. Check that the gearbox and essential equipment match your brief, and obtain the proposed handover arrangements in writing. If the available car misses a core requirement, compare a suitable alternative rather than overlooking the difference.
Bring your passenger, journey and equipment requirements. We can help turn them into a clear vehicle and contract brief.
