Your Ford Tourneo Connect leasing decision

Intelligent Vehicle Finance can help you choose a Ford Tourneo Connect lease for family travel or moving colleagues. Its passenger layout, sliding doors and choice of petrol, diesel or plug-in hybrid make the seat configuration the first decision. Confirm the required seats, luggage room and powertrain on the exact quoted vehicle.

Tourneo Connect leasing starts with the people

Choose the Tourneo Connect when access and adaptable passenger space matter more than an SUV silhouette. A family collecting children, a business taking colleagues to a site meeting and a driver carrying sports equipment can all value the same layout for different reasons. The important question is how many approved seats must remain in use while your belongings are aboard.

Ford’s regular and Grand versions need separate consideration. A nameplate alone does not tell you the body length, third-row arrangement or room behind occupied seats. This page covers passenger and crew travel in the car, with car tax treatment. A goods-carrying van requirement belongs with Transit Connect, while larger passenger groups may need a Tourneo Custom conversation.

Ford Tourneo Connect leasing: key facts

  • Ford UK describes regular and Grand Tourneo Connect bodies with five-seat and seven-seat configurations.
  • Current Ford UK powertrain families include EcoBoost petrol, EcoBlue diesel and a plug-in hybrid.
  • The IVF capture contains Titanium and Active entries, including explicitly labelled seven-seat petrol and diesel versions.
  • PHEV listing titles do not themselves confirm a seven-seat layout; obtain the supplied vehicle’s seating specification.
  • The Tourneo Connect discussed here is a passenger car. The Transit Connect van is a different buying task.
  • GOV.UK: the maximum company-car BiK band is 37% in 2026/27 and 39% in 2029/30; the exact car can fall in a lower band.

Read the captured Tourneo Connect range carefully

On 28 September 2026, IVF’s model grid lists eight entries across petrol, diesel and plug-in hybrid. Titanium appears with EcoBoost petrol, EcoBlue diesel and PHEV descriptions; Active appears with diesel and PHEV descriptions. Several combustion entries explicitly state seven seats. Do not interpret a PHEV row without that wording as proof of either five or seven fitted seats.

Ford UK currently presents the Tourneo Connect with petrol, diesel and plug-in hybrid choices. Its broader model page describes regular and longer Grand bodies, but the captured IVF route does not establish that every manufacturer combination is offered here. Ask IVF to name the body, seating configuration and model year in writing, then compare the corresponding vehicle specification.

The catalogue uses automatic descriptions on the entries captured. That is a useful shortlist filter, not a reason to transplant a gearbox specification from another engine. Wheel choice, pack content and seating can also differ. The rental shown in the grid is the beginning of a contract comparison; a written quotation needs to identify the complete vehicle and the agreement assumptions.

Make sliding doors and flexible seats work for you

Try a narrow parking bay with the passengers who will use the rear cabin. Sliding side doors may simplify access where a conventional rear door would need more space, but check the opening, step and handles in person. Parents should test child-seat installation and the route past occupied seats rather than assume every seating position offers the same restraint attachments.

Measure the objects that determine your choice: folded buggy, instrument cases, display materials or a wheelchair carried as luggage. If somebody needs to travel in a wheelchair, that is a specific conversion and approval discussion, not a feature established by the ordinary passenger listing. Confirm the conversion, insurer, funder and equipment requirements before treating the standard car as suitable.

Choose the powertrain for the route between stops

The plug-in hybrid is most interesting when repeated local journeys can begin with a charge. Start by checking access to a home or workplace socket installation that is suitable for the vehicle. Plan what happens on days when another vehicle uses the point or the car returns late. A PHEV offers more flexibility than an electric-only journey plan, but electricity use still depends on you charging it.

Ford’s website includes an electric-distance headline for the PHEV, but its displayed footnote refers to a different Tourneo product. We therefore do not assign that numerical claim to these listings. Obtain the correct UK specification for the actual Tourneo Connect before estimating electric coverage. Your useful comparison is a realistic charged-day routine plus longer-trip running, rather than a headline detached from the offered car.

Passenger-car responsibilities for business use

A Tourneo Connect carrying employees remains a passenger-vehicle decision. Do not import a van benefit amount because its shape resembles a commercial vehicle. Where an employee or director can use the car privately, the company-car calculation follows the supplied powertrain and its certified data. A business-only pool arrangement needs its own professional assessment of how the vehicle is actually available and used.

Check driving entitlement for every intended driver. Ordinary car entitlement includes limits on passenger seats and maximum authorised mass; the driver is counted separately from passenger seats. Where a conversion would create more than eight passenger seats, obtain specific advice on the appropriate entitlement rather than assuming the normal car rules continue. The GOV.UK category guidance is the starting point for the driver’s own licence and vehicle weight.

If colleagues take turns, organise the handover as carefully as the vehicle choice. Drivers need to understand seat latches, charging if applicable, fuel and maintenance responsibilities, and where to report damage. Test rear visibility with the seating and luggage arrangement you actually expect to use. A clear procedure makes a flexible cabin easier to manage safely across a small team.

A demonstration checklist for the Tourneo Connect

Ask for the applicable Ford warranty document and first-registration date. Ford’s warranty categories can group Tourneo models with commercial vehicles for warranty administration; that does not set their tax classification. Confirm the period, mileage limit and any separate high-voltage cover for the offered car. The exact warranty and maintenance inclusions remain items to resolve in writing before agreement.

Ford Tourneo Connect company-car tax across the lease

For the Tourneo Connect passenger car, compare the PHEV’s certified CO2 and electric range with the petrol or diesel alternative. The vehicle’s passenger layout does not grant a van tax treatment. Apply any company-car assessment to the exact model year and private-use arrangement.

The taxable benefit normally uses P11D value multiplied by the applicable percentage; personal tax then depends on the driver’s tax rate and circumstances. This is not a percentage of rentals. Sole traders need a separate assessment.

The electric-mile bands are tax thresholds, not driving-range promises. Above 50g/km, check the conditional HMRC PHEV easement rather than assuming eligibility; it does not establish lease-rental relief. Diesel supplements may apply, subject to the annual cap.

Checked 28 September 2026: IVF BiK guide, HMRC early-year bands and 2028-2030 changes. Match the supplied car’s certification and registration. Tax can change; consult your accountant.

Road tax across your agreement

VED. For 2026/27, the single annual standard payment after year one is £200. First-year tax follows CO2 and registration rules; the zero-emission first-year rate is £10. Later annual cash rates are not confirmed here.

Expensive Car Supplement. The 2026/27 supplement is £440 annually for five years from the second licence. It applies above £40,000 list price for petrol, diesel and hybrids, or above £50,000 for qualifying electric cars registered from 1 April 2025. Use pre-discount list price including relevant options. For these hybrid or combustion entries, the higher electric-car supplement threshold does not apply. GOV.UK VED rules.

Planned eVED. From April 2028, the government plans an additional mileage charge: electric cars 3p/mile, PHEVs 1.5p/mile. It is not currently in force and remains subject to legislation and implementation. CPI uprating is planned from 2029/30; later cash rates are unconfirmed. Ask how the funder passes through tax changes. Government eVED response.

VAT and the business accounts

VAT-registered businesses can normally reclaim 50% of the VAT on qualifying car rentals where private use is available, depending on circumstances and the normal VAT rules. Full rental-VAT recovery requires exclusive business use with no private availability. Maintenance can fall outside the rental block when it is genuinely optional, separately described in the contract and separately quantified on the invoice; recovery remains subject to normal VAT rules. Read HMRC’s motoring VAT guidance.

Businesses using the VAT Flat Rate Scheme do not normally recover input VAT on recurring car hire. The separate capital-goods exception does not turn hire invoices into a vehicle purchase. Check HMRC’s Flat Rate Scheme guidance.

The hire-cost rules normally disallow 15% of otherwise deductible rentals for cars above 50 g/km, subject to their scope and exceptions. A company-car BiK easement does not establish relief from this restriction. Check HMRC’s car-hire deduction rules.

For accounting periods beginning on or after 1 January 2026, revised FRS 102 generally requires a right-of-use asset and lease liability for lessees, including small companies using Section 1A. FRS 105 lease accounting for eligible micro-entities was not changed in the same way. Contract hire therefore does not universally keep a car off the balance sheet. Ask your accountant to apply the right framework; HMRC summarises the accounting standards.

Build the quotation around the way you will use it

Tell IVF your annual mileage, regular passengers, essential equipment, charging access where relevant and preferred timing. Ask for the precise model year, derivative, options and registration status to be written into the quotation. The catalogue is a starting point; the offered vehicle and funder terms need confirmation.

Business Contract Hire is taken by the business; Personal Contract Hire is taken by the private individual. Both are subject to status and individual funder criteria. Compare the initial rental, term, mileage, maintenance and applicable fees on the same basis. An initial rental is part of the hire cost, not refundable security or ownership equity.

A manufacturer warranty starts under the supplied car’s warranty terms, normally from first registration. Its time and mileage limits may finish before your lease does. It is separate from optional servicing and tyre cover. Confirm maintenance inclusions, insurance responsibilities, tax provisions and early-termination terms before signing.

At the end of contract hire, return the vehicle; there is no contractual purchase option. Excess mileage, damage beyond the funder’s fair wear and tear standard, missing equipment or other contractual charges may still be payable. Check the return process before choosing your agreement.

Ford Tourneo Connect leasing questions

Is Tourneo Connect the same as Transit Connect?

They serve different tasks. This Tourneo Connect page covers the passenger vehicle for families and colleagues. Transit Connect is the van route for a goods-carrying requirement. Similar naming or appearance does not make their seating, insurance or tax treatment interchangeable.

Can I get a seven-seat Tourneo Connect lease?

Ford describes five-seat and seven-seat configurations, and the captured IVF grid explicitly labels some petrol and diesel rows as seven-seat cars. Ask IVF to confirm the actual fitted seats and body length. Do not infer PHEV seat count from an incomplete title.

Is the Tourneo Connect PHEV fully electric?

No. The plug-in hybrid combines external charging with a petrol engine. Its operating pattern differs from both an ordinary petrol car and a battery-electric vehicle. Match the supplied specification to your charging routine before expecting a particular amount of electric running.

Which Tourneo Connect grades are listed here?

The captured entries use Titanium and Active names. Ford’s full range and the IVF catalogue need not contain every identical combination. Confirm the model year, fitted options, engine and seats on the vehicle quoted instead of comparing grade names alone.

Will seven people and their bags fit?

Test the layout with all required seats in use and the bags you normally carry. Maximum loadspace figures measured with seats removed cannot answer that question. Check access to the last row and secure luggage so it cannot move into the passenger area.

Can a business lease a Tourneo Connect for colleagues?

Discuss the intended passenger use with IVF, including private availability and who will drive. Use the car benefit framework where applicable; do not assume a van benefit because of the body shape. Your accountant should assess any proposed pool-car arrangement separately.

Do I need a different licence for extra seats?

Check the driver’s entitlement, vehicle maximum authorised mass and passenger-seat count. Nine total seats can mean eight passengers plus the driver. A configuration with more than eight passenger seats requires a separate entitlement assessment under GOV.UK guidance.

Does a Grand version automatically have seven seats?

Ford describes body length and seating as separate choices. The word Grand should not replace confirmation of the installed layout. Ask for the exact number of approved seats and available luggage space in the vehicle you will receive.

Can I remove seats during the agreement?

Use only the manufacturer’s approved procedure and retain every component for refitting and return. Check the lease terms and ask about any intended conversion or permanent alteration. Loose tools or baggage must be secured when the interior arrangement changes.

How do I compare Tourneo Connect quotations?

Keep the body, seating, engine and essential equipment identical, then compare term, agreed mileage, initial rental and maintenance. Send IVF the same passenger and journey brief for each option. That exposes meaningful differences rather than differences created by incomplete vehicle descriptions.
