Intelligent Vehicle Finance helps you compare Genesis GV70 business and personal leasing across the petrol, diesel and electric descriptions in its catalogue. Electrified GV70 is fully electric, not a plug-in hybrid. First establish which powertrain and model year you want, then match its charging, equipment and tax position to your journeys.
The GV70 page requires a more careful first choice than a normal trim comparison. Its catalogue combines cars that refuel with cars that need charging. A similar body shape does not make those choices interchangeable for a director’s tax position, a private driver’s weekly routine or a business managing several employees.
Start with where the car parks overnight and the longest journeys that recur, not just the annual mileage total. A driver who can charge predictably may assess Electrified GV70 very differently from someone whose work changes location every day. Neither choice should rest on a headline figure without checking the actual route and support available.
Then decide what you need from the cabin and equipment. A familiar Premium, Sport or Luxury description on a combustion car does not prove the same specification on an electric one. Ask IVF to keep the full derivative and model-year identity visible throughout the comparison so that the quotation remains attached to the right car.
Genesis GV70 and two alternatives: choose by the job the car needs to do
| Model | Reason to consider it | Decision to make |
|---|---|---|
| GV70 / Electrified GV70 | SUV choice with materially different powertrain routines | Select combustion or electric first, then verify generation and packs. |
| Genesis GV60 | Alternative electric Genesis shortlist | Try its own cabin and loading arrangement against your journeys. |
| Genesis G80 | Saloon alternative for executive travel | Compare rear-seat priorities and luggage access with an SUV. |
These are different vehicle choices, not identical specifications or a ranking. Check the precise powertrain, equipment and availability of each before comparing quotations.
The 28 September 2026 capture contains 16 distinct derivative links. Petrol 2.5T and diesel 2.2D 201 descriptions appear in Premium, Sport and Luxury forms, including Innovation Pack labels. Electric entries are described as 360 kW Pure, Dynamic and Luxury 84 kWh, with a Luxury Comfort Pack row as well.
Genesis UK’s combustion and electric pages support the distinction between those powertrain families. They do not establish that every catalogue combination is currently available through IVF. Treat a pack name as an instruction to verify equipment, and obtain the manufacturer specification corresponding to the precise quoted car rather than the nearest-looking brochure.
The grid displays rentals under its selected settings. If you switch between petrol and electric entries, preserve the same term, mileage and maintenance basis before comparing them. A company-car comparison also needs the correct P11D and tax path for each car, which cannot be inferred from a monthly rental alone.
Electrified GV70 is fully electric. Before choosing it, establish whether charging is possible at home, work or the places you already stop. Check access hours, payment arrangements and a realistic backup. A charger shown on a map is not proof that it will be convenient or working when your schedule brings you there.
Ask for the battery version and wheel specification on the offer. Current manufacturer range and charging claims relate to stated versions and conditions, so they should not be transferred to an unidentified older GV70. For your own planning, allow for weather, motorway speeds, passengers and the charge level you normally want to retain on arrival.
If the car will be shared, include charging in the handover. Drivers need to know how to connect, pay, end a session and leave the car ready for the next user. The convenience of a company EV depends partly on that operating routine, not just the vehicle’s technical specification.
The combustion GV70 remains separately described on Genesis UK’s site. Its 2.5T petrol and 2.2D diesel references should be compared using the supplied car’s own certified emissions and equipment. Do not import electric-car tax treatment because a search result or catalogue heading also mentions Electrified GV70.
For high annual mileage, examine the route pattern and the actual costs of fuelling, servicing and insurance. For repeated short trips, discuss the suitability of the chosen engine with the manufacturer’s guidance in mind. A generic assumption that diesel always suits business travel is not enough to select an agreement lasting several years.
An Innovation Pack description needs a line-by-line equipment check. Ask which assistance systems, parking functions and comfort features are included on that exact model year. Demonstrate the features you rely on before deciding that a more extensive pack is essential. Driver assistance remains support for the driver, with operating limitations.
Test the GV70 with your usual passengers and work luggage. If you carry a dog crate, sports equipment or bulky cases, try the shape and height of the boot opening. Do not assume the electric and combustion versions provide an identical loading arrangement merely because they share the GV70 name.
For towing or roof equipment, obtain approval and limits for the particular powertrain. The figure from a combustion page is not automatically valid for Electrified GV70. Include the complete load, accessories and passengers in the enquiry so the correct documents can be checked before you commit to an installation.
Find out how servicing and warranty support will operate from your postcode. Genesis warranty and care-plan terms should be confirmed for the supplied vehicle and use; do not equate every advertised ownership benefit with an inclusion in a broker-arranged lease. A GV60 or G80 comparison may help resolve whether you really need this body style.
The GV70 range needs two different company-car paths. Zero-emission Electrified GV70 uses the electric percentages below. Genesis’s published combustion CO2 ranges are above the ceiling threshold, but confirm the supplied petrol or diesel car and any diesel certification requirements.
For an employee or director with private use, the taxable benefit normally starts with the car’s P11D value multiplied by the applicable BiK percentage. Personal tax then depends on the individual’s income tax rate and any relevant adjustments. The percentage is not the tax rate applied to the lease rental. A sole trader’s own business car use follows different rules.
The agreement can cross several tax years. Compare the whole path, not just the percentage in the year the car arrives.
Company-car BiK benchmarks, 2026/27 to 2029/30
| Tax specification | 2026/27 | 2027/28 | 2028/29 | 2029/30 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Zero-emission Electrified GV70 | 4% | 5% | 7% | 9% |
| Combustion GV70 at the maximum band | 37% | 37% | 38% | 39% |
These are conditional tax bands, not assigned rates for every Genesis GV70. Confirm the supplied car’s P11D, certified CO2, fuel type and registration date. Diesel supplements can apply where the required emissions certification is absent, subject to the annual maximum.
Use our company-car BiK guide alongside HMRC’s 2026/27 and 2027/28 tables and the published 2028/29 and 2029/30 changes. Tax information checked 28 September 2026 against the C1 ledger and its primary sources. Tax treatment depends on individual circumstances and may change; consult your accountant.
Vehicle Excise Duty (VED). For 2026/27, the standard annual VED payment after the first year is £200 before any supplement. First-year VED depends on CO2 and registration rules; zero-emission cars currently have a £10 first-year rate. These cash rates apply to 2026/27 only; later annual VED rates are not confirmed here. Ask how the funder treats tax increases during your agreement.
Expensive Car Supplement. The Expensive Car Supplement is currently £440 a year for five years from the second licence. The list-price threshold is more than £40,000 for petrol, diesel and hybrid cars, or more than £50,000 for qualifying zero-emission cars registered from 1 April 2025. Use the published list price before discounts, including relevant options, and check the registration date. Plug-in hybrids do not receive the electric-car threshold. GOV.UK explains VED and the supplement.
Planned eVED. The government plans Electric Vehicle Excise Duty (eVED) from April 2028, alongside VED: 3p per mile for electric cars and 1.5p per mile for plug-in hybrids. This is proposed for April 2028, subject to legislation and implementation; it is not a charge currently in force. The stated rates are planned starting rates, with CPI uprating proposed from 2029/30 and later cash rates not confirmed. An agreement spanning introduction needs the funder’s written treatment of the charge and later changes. Check the government’s consultation response and final implementation guidance before committing.
VAT-registered businesses can normally reclaim 50% of the VAT on qualifying car rentals where private use is available, depending on circumstances and the normal VAT rules. Full rental-VAT recovery requires exclusive business use with no private availability. Maintenance can fall outside the rental block when it is genuinely optional, separately described in the contract and separately quantified on the invoice; recovery remains subject to normal VAT rules. Read HMRC’s motoring VAT guidance.
Businesses using the VAT Flat Rate Scheme do not normally recover input VAT on recurring car hire. The separate capital-goods exception does not turn hire invoices into a vehicle purchase. Check HMRC’s Flat Rate Scheme guidance.
The hire-cost rules normally disallow 15% of otherwise deductible rentals for cars above 50 g/km, subject to their scope and exceptions. A company-car BiK easement does not establish relief from this restriction. Check HMRC’s car-hire deduction rules.
For accounting periods beginning on or after 1 January 2026, revised FRS 102 generally requires a right-of-use asset and lease liability for lessees, including small companies using Section 1A. FRS 105 lease accounting for eligible micro-entities was not changed in the same way. Contract hire therefore does not universally keep a car off the balance sheet. Ask your accountant to apply the right framework; HMRC summarises the accounting standards.
Tell IVF your annual mileage, regular passengers, essential equipment, charging access where relevant and preferred timing. Ask for the precise model year, derivative, options and registration status to be written into the quotation. The catalogue is a starting point; the offered vehicle and funder terms need confirmation.
Business Contract Hire is taken by the business; Personal Contract Hire is taken by the private individual. Both are subject to status and individual funder criteria. Compare the initial rental, term, mileage, maintenance and applicable fees on the same basis. An initial rental is part of the hire cost, not refundable security or ownership equity.
A manufacturer warranty starts under the supplied car’s warranty terms, normally from first registration. Its time and mileage limits may finish before your lease does. It is separate from optional servicing and tyre cover. Confirm maintenance inclusions, insurance responsibilities, tax provisions and early-termination terms before signing.
At the end of contract hire, return the vehicle; there is no contractual purchase option. Excess mileage, damage beyond the funder’s fair wear and tear standard, missing equipment or other contractual charges may still be payable. Check the return process before choosing your agreement.
Use Genesis leasing range, Genesis GV60, Genesis G80, business car leasing, company-car BiK guide to narrow your choice or discuss a quotation.
No. Genesis uses Electrified GV70 for the battery-electric model. The petrol and diesel GV70 versions are separate powertrain choices. Confirm the complete derivative name before comparing charging or tax assumptions.
IVF’s checked GV70 route groups those catalogue descriptions together. They need separate running-cost and equipment checks. A shared model heading does not mean they have the same battery, emissions or company-car treatment.
The capture lists Pure, Dynamic and Luxury 84 kWh descriptions, including a Luxury Comfort Pack entry. Confirm the exact model year and manufacturer specification for the offered car before applying any range or charging claim.
Yes, but use the same agreement basis and compare the correct tax path for each car. Battery-electric and combustion company-car percentages differ substantially. Ask your accountant to use the individual P11D and certification.
Begin with charging access, normal journeys, passengers and luggage. Then test the shortlisted car and compare insurance, energy or fuel costs, maintenance and contract terms. The right choice depends on the use rather than the badge alone.
No. Some catalogue rows explicitly identify it and others do not. Confirm the itemised equipment of the actual vehicle; a pack or trim name from another year is not reliable proof of an inclusion.
Do not transfer it. Obtain the electric derivative’s own approved towing, train-weight and payload limits, together with the permitted towbar installation. The same model family can have different approvals.
Explain where the electric car would park, whether a charger can be installed and which longer routes recur. Include access restrictions or shared-driver arrangements so the charging plan can be assessed realistically.
No. Check Genesis warranty and care-plan conditions for the exact car, then read the funder’s maintenance inclusions separately. Confirm servicing arrangements from your location and any limits related to mileage or use.
The full powertrain, model year, trim, packs and registration status should be clear alongside the agreement settings. For electric versions, identify the battery and wheels; for business use, obtain the correct P11D and CO2 data.
