Your Leapmotor B10 leasing decision

Intelligent Vehicle Finance helps business and private drivers compare Leapmotor B10 leasing. UK manufacturer information covers a battery-electric SUV and a range-extending Hybrid EV, while our captured listings show Hybrid EV derivatives. Choose around your charging routine, passenger needs and the exact vehicle offered, with availability confirmed individually.

B10 business and personal leasing: choose the energy system first

The B10 deserves consideration when you want an SUV for everyday family travel that can also handle a working week. Its central decision is unusually important: the electric B10 and B10 Hybrid EV share a name, but they ask different things of the driver. A routine parking space with dependable charging makes battery-electric ownership easier to organise. A petrol generator gives the Hybrid EV a second energy source, although plugging in remains important to its purpose.

For an SME allocating a car to one named employee, establish where that person parks overnight before discussing equipment. For a private household, include the less frequent long journey and the days someone else drives. If there is no realistic charging routine and no willingness to arrange one, the B10 should be weighed against a non-plug-in alternative. An electric motor driving the wheels does not make every B10 a zero-emission car for tax.

Leapmotor B10 leasing: key facts

  • B10 is a five-seat SUV; the Hybrid EV uses a petrol generator and an electric drive motor.
  • UK Hybrid EV press specifications list an 18.8kWh battery and rear-wheel drive; IVF rounds the battery label to 19kWh.
  • The separately documented battery-electric B10 has a 67.1kWh battery; it was not in the captured IVF derivative list.
  • Leapmotor states four years/60,000 miles vehicle warranty and eight years/100,000 miles battery warranty, subject to terms.
  • The March 2026 Hybrid EV press sheet marks its emissions and range data provisional: obtain final UK certification for the offered car.
  • GOV.UK: the maximum company-car BiK band is 37% in 2026/27 and 39% in 2029/30; the exact car can fall in a lower band.

What the B10 catalogue actually lists

Our 28 September 2026 capture showed two B10 derivative entries: 160kW Hybrid EV 19kWh automatic, and an otherwise similarly labelled NI entry. Both are catalogue records, not confirmation of stock. Ask IVF to clarify the NI designation and any territory or funder restrictions before treating those rows as interchangeable offers. The captured engine-capacity placeholder is not a reliable technical specification.

Leapmotor’s UK press information dated 3 December 2025 describes the battery-electric B10; its 25 March 2026 release adds the Hybrid EV. That is stronger evidence of the UK product range than simply reading the IVF fuel label. It does not prove that the electric version can currently be sourced on your preferred agreement. If that is the car you want, say battery-electric explicitly and ask for a written sourcing answer.

The UK releases describe a single extensively equipped trim rather than a long equipment ladder. This makes colour and cabin preference relatively straightforward, but still check the supplied model year. A demonstration car’s software, upholstery or convenience functions should not silently become a promise about the quoted vehicle. Save the written specification with the quotation so a later substitution is easy to recognise.

How the Hybrid EV changes your charging decision

In the Hybrid EV, the electric motor drives the wheels and the petrol engine generates electricity. This is a range-extending arrangement, distinct from the battery-electric B10 and from a non-plug-in hybrid. A useful trial is to describe a normal week: where the car sleeps, how often it can connect, and which journeys will need petrol. That tells you more than a combined petrol-and-electric range headline.

The March Hybrid EV release explicitly labels its emissions and range figures provisional, pending final UK homologation. For that reason, this page does not present those figures as certified promises for IVF’s two entries. Ask for the final emissions certificate, battery specification and electric range before a company-car calculation. In particular, do not substitute the battery-electric model’s range, charging hardware or tax percentage into a Hybrid EV quotation.

Check the cabin with your normal passengers

Bring the people and equipment that create the hardest ordinary journey. Put the driving seat in its usual position, then assess rear knee room and access with any child seats installed. Try loading your own pushchair, work cases or sports bags. The Hybrid EV has its own boot specification, so a measurement or photograph of the battery-electric B10 should not settle the luggage question.

Keep the B10 distinct from T03 and B05

The T03 is the more urban-focused Leapmotor to investigate when compact outside dimensions matter most. The B05 has its own hatchback page and status checks; it should not be assumed to share the B10’s equipment or availability. Compare these alternatives by the journeys they must support, then confirm their current UK order position. A sibling link is a way to explore another brief, not evidence of a vehicle waiting to be delivered.

Leapmotor B10 company-car tax across the lease

B10 requires two separate tax assessments: a genuine zero-emission version follows electric-car bands, while Hybrid EV needs its certified emissions and electric range. Provisional launch data is insufficient to assign the quoted car a band.

For an employee driving a B10 privately, the calculation starts with that specific car’s P11D value and its annual appropriate percentage. Apply the driver’s income tax rate to the resulting benefit, with any relevant adjustments. The lease rental is a different amount. A sole trader choosing a B10 for their own business follows different tax rules. Check the powertrain on the documents before projecting costs through the agreement.

These are conditional tax bands, not assigned rates for every Leapmotor B10. Confirm the supplied car’s P11D, certified CO2, fuel type and registration date. Diesel supplements can apply where the required emissions certification is absent, subject to the annual maximum.

The electric-mile figures above are HMRC band thresholds, not promises of this car’s driving range. Newer plug-in hybrid certification can show more than 50 g/km. A temporary company-car easement may treat an eligible car as 1 g/km where the registration date, electric range and Euro-status conditions are met; it is not automatic and must not be transferred to lease-rental deductions. Check the vehicle documents and HMRC’s plug-in hybrid conditions with your accountant.

Use our company-car BiK guide alongside HMRC’s 2026/27 and 2027/28 tables and the published 2028/29 and 2029/30 changes. Tax information checked 28 September 2026 against the C1 ledger and its primary sources. Tax treatment depends on individual circumstances and may change; consult your accountant.

Road tax and costs across the term

Vehicle Excise Duty (VED). For 2026/27, the standard annual VED payment after the first year is £200 before any supplement. First-year VED depends on CO2 and registration rules; zero-emission cars currently have a £10 first-year rate. These cash rates apply to 2026/27 only; later annual VED rates are not confirmed here. Ask how the funder treats tax increases during your agreement.

Expensive Car Supplement. The Expensive Car Supplement is currently £440 a year for five years from the second licence. The list-price threshold is more than £40,000 for petrol, diesel and hybrid cars, or more than £50,000 for qualifying zero-emission cars registered from 1 April 2025. Use the published list price before discounts, including relevant options, and check the registration date. Plug-in hybrids do not receive the electric-car threshold. GOV.UK explains VED and the supplement.

Planned eVED. The government plans Electric Vehicle Excise Duty (eVED) from April 2028, alongside VED: 3p per mile for electric cars and 1.5p per mile for plug-in hybrids. This is proposed for April 2028, subject to legislation and implementation; it is not a charge currently in force. The stated rates are planned starting rates, with CPI uprating proposed from 2029/30 and later cash rates not confirmed. An agreement spanning introduction needs the funder’s written treatment of the charge and later changes. Check the government’s consultation response and final implementation guidance before committing.

VAT and the business accounts

VAT-registered businesses can normally reclaim 50% of the VAT on qualifying car rentals where private use is available, depending on circumstances and the normal VAT rules. Full rental-VAT recovery requires exclusive business use with no private availability. Maintenance can fall outside the rental block when it is genuinely optional, separately described in the contract and separately quantified on the invoice; recovery remains subject to normal VAT rules. Read HMRC’s motoring VAT guidance.

Businesses using the VAT Flat Rate Scheme do not normally recover input VAT on recurring car hire. The separate capital-goods exception does not turn hire invoices into a vehicle purchase. Check HMRC’s Flat Rate Scheme guidance.

The hire-cost rules normally disallow 15% of otherwise deductible rentals for cars above 50 g/km, subject to their scope and exceptions. A company-car BiK easement does not establish relief from this restriction. Check HMRC’s car-hire deduction rules.

For accounting periods beginning on or after 1 January 2026, revised FRS 102 generally requires a right-of-use asset and lease liability for lessees, including small companies using Section 1A. FRS 105 lease accounting for eligible micro-entities was not changed in the same way. Contract hire therefore does not universally keep a car off the balance sheet. Ask your accountant to apply the right framework; HMRC summarises the accounting standards.

Build the quotation around the way you will use it

Tell IVF your annual mileage, regular passengers, essential equipment, charging access where relevant and preferred timing. Ask for the precise model year, derivative, options and registration status to be written into the quotation. The catalogue is a starting point; the offered vehicle and funder terms need confirmation.

Business Contract Hire is taken by the business; Personal Contract Hire is taken by the private individual. Both are subject to status and individual funder criteria. Compare the initial rental, term, mileage, maintenance and applicable fees on the same basis. An initial rental is part of the hire cost, not refundable security or ownership equity.

A manufacturer warranty starts under the supplied car’s warranty terms, normally from first registration. Its time and mileage limits may finish before your lease does. It is separate from optional servicing and tyre cover. Confirm maintenance inclusions, insurance responsibilities, tax provisions and early-termination terms before signing.

At the end of contract hire, return the vehicle; there is no contractual purchase option. Excess mileage, damage beyond the funder’s fair wear and tear standard, missing equipment or other contractual charges may still be payable. Check the return process before choosing your agreement.

Leapmotor B10 leasing questions

Is the Leapmotor B10 electric or hybrid?

UK information describes both a battery-electric B10 and a B10 Hybrid EV. The Hybrid EV uses a petrol generator while its electric motor drives the wheels. The IVF capture showed Hybrid EV entries, so specify the powertrain you want rather than relying on the model name alone.

Which Leapmotor B10 versions does IVF list?

The captured catalogue contains a 160kW Hybrid EV 19kWh automatic and a similarly named NI entry. Request clarification of the territory designation and exact specification. A catalogue entry is not evidence of allocation, and the separately documented battery-electric B10 requires an individual sourcing check.

Does the B10 Hybrid EV need plugging in?

It can use its petrol generator, but regular external charging is central to using it as an electrified daily car. Explain your parking and charging access to IVF. A home charger, workplace bay and public charger are different arrangements and should be considered separately.

Can I use the B10’s published range for a company-car quote?

Only after matching the final UK certification to the exact car. Leapmotor’s March 2026 Hybrid EV press sheet marks range and emissions data provisional. Obtain confirmed electric range and CO2 documents; the battery-electric version’s figures cannot be applied to the Hybrid EV.

Is B10 Hybrid EV taxed like a fully electric car?

No. A petrol range extender means it is not a zero-emission battery-electric car. Its company-car treatment depends on certified emissions, electric range and any applicable HMRC conditions. Your accountant should review the vehicle documents before you rely on a BiK percentage.

Should I compare B10 with Leapmotor T03 or B05?

Compare T03 for a city-oriented brief and B05 for a hatchback brief, checking each model’s current status. B10 serves the SUV decision. Assess parking, passenger access and luggage with your own routine rather than expecting the shared badge to imply the same space or equipment.

What warranty is stated for the Leapmotor B10?

Leapmotor’s UK material states four years or 60,000 miles for the vehicle and eight years or 100,000 miles for the battery, subject to the applicable terms. Confirm the start date, covered components and maintenance requirements for the supplied vehicle. Warranty is separate from lease maintenance.

How is a B10 lease quotation prepared?

IVF needs the precise powertrain, annual mileage, term and essential equipment. The live grid displays rental figures; a written quotation confirms the vehicle, initial rental, applicable fees and contract conditions. Compare offers on the same basis, including whether maintenance is included or separately selected.

What should a B10 test drive include?

Try rear access, your normal luggage and the screen functions you use often. For Hybrid EV, discuss how the petrol generator operates during different journeys. Check seating comfort and visibility with your own driving position, then make sure the test car matches the specification being quoted.

Can I lease a B10 personally or through my company?

Ask IVF to compare Personal Contract Hire and Business Contract Hire for your circumstances, subject to status and funder criteria. Separate the company’s costs from any employee benefit. Neither arrangement is a purchase contract; check mileage, return condition and early-termination terms before committing.
