The useful first question is what the Maserati must do. A Grecale used daily for work and family, a GranTurismo for longer leisure journeys and a GranCabrio chosen for open-air driving are different enquiries. Set the body and passenger requirements before discussing optional finishes. That makes it possible to investigate an actual vehicle rather than a general wish for the badge.
IVF’s current manufacturer page contains Grecale descriptions, replacing the earlier empty-catalogue position. Those entries provide a starting point, not proof of allocation, funding or delivery. Tell IVF which generation and powertrain you want, what equipment is essential and when the replacement is needed. A proposal should identify one specific UK car and a suitable agreement. Manufacturer availability and the cars that a broker can arrange are related questions, but neither can be assumed from the other.
IVF provides a named specialist and free UK delivery, with the date confirmed for the chosen vehicle. Enquiries and quotations carry no charge or obligation. Ask about suitable two-, three- or four-year terms; the available agreement depends on the car and funder.
| Model line | Body and powertrain | What to decide |
|---|---|---|
| Grecale | SUV; petrol/mild-hybrid and Folgore catalogue descriptions | Identify the exact UK generation, powertrain and supplied car. |
| GranTurismo | Fixed-roof grand tourer | Define passenger and luggage use; confirm supply and drivetrain. |
| GranCabrio | Open-top grand tourer | Roof use and luggage must fit the trip; supply separately checked. |
| MCPURA / MCPURA Cielo | Super-sports coupe / open-top body | Specialist enquiry only; do not infer an available contract. |
| GT2 Stradale | Road-focused super-sports model | Establish appropriate use, insurance and funding before assumptions. |
Model pages are catalogue routes, not confirmation of stock or a delivery date. Where a line has left the current UK range, the status is stated in its row. Confirm the exact UK generation, equipment and supply in your quotation.
Maserati’s current UK navigation includes Grecale, GranTurismo and GranCabrio, together with MCPURA, its Cielo open-top form and GT2 Stradale. The table provides range context, not an assertion that each can be leased through IVF. No model page or funding offer is invented for a line that lacks a verified IVF route. A specialist car also needs the intended use and insurance to be suitable for the proposed agreement.
For Grecale, make the enquiry exact enough to distinguish the engine-equipped cars from Folgore and an earlier derivative from a later generation. For a touring car, identify whether rear-seat use and luggage are occasional or central to the brief. Avoid changing several requirements at once when considering an alternative. If the supply answer involves a different body, powertrain or delivery window, ask for the revised proposal as a new comparison. That protects the original reason for choosing the car.
Folgore denotes the electric Maserati range. A petrol or mild-hybrid Grecale is a different proposition even when body styling or trim names overlap. The company-car inputs, energy routine and servicing expectations therefore need to follow the full derivative description. Do not carry the electric percentage into a comparison merely because a petrol car has electrical assistance.
Current catalogue labels include earlier mild-hybrid descriptions alongside V6 and Folgore entries. Manufacturer updates can change the engine or hardware behind a familiar model name, so insist on the UK model year and supplied specification. A general performance headline from a newly presented version is not evidence for a different listed car. Choose the drivetrain around the experience and journeys you want, then confirm whether the intended vehicle and funder terms can be supplied together.
A director considering a Maserati should separate the company’s agreement from personal company-car tax. The conditional electric and higher-emission bands below explain the framework; they are not assigned to an unconfirmed Grecale or touring car. The actual P11D, emissions, registration date and private availability establish the calculation.
The business must also assess cash commitment, insurance, maintenance and the accountant’s treatment of the agreement. Where a vehicle is mainly chosen for a particular driving experience, be clear about that requirement rather than presenting a tax percentage as the whole business case. A company-car proposal still needs an identified vehicle and an acceptable funder quotation.
VAT-registered businesses can normally reclaim 50% of the VAT on qualifying car rentals where private use is available, depending on circumstances and the normal VAT rules. Full rental-VAT recovery requires exclusive business use with no private availability. Maintenance can fall outside the rental block when it is genuinely optional, separately described in the contract and separately quantified on the invoice; recovery remains subject to normal VAT rules. Read HMRC’s motoring VAT guidance.
Businesses using the VAT Flat Rate Scheme do not normally recover input VAT on recurring car hire. The separate capital-goods exception does not turn hire invoices into a vehicle purchase. Check HMRC’s Flat Rate Scheme guidance.
The hire-cost rules normally disallow 15% of otherwise deductible rentals for cars above 50 g/km, subject to their scope and exceptions. A company-car BiK easement does not establish relief from this restriction. Check HMRC’s car-hire deduction rules.
For accounting periods beginning on or after 1 January 2026, revised FRS 102 generally requires a right-of-use asset and lease liability for lessees, including small companies using Section 1A. FRS 105 lease accounting for eligible micro-entities was not changed in the same way. Contract hire therefore does not universally keep a car off the balance sheet. Ask your accountant to apply the right framework; HMRC summarises the accounting standards.
If open-top driving is the reason for the enquiry, GranCabrio should be judged with its roof in the positions you will actually use. Check passenger access, luggage arrangements and parking clearance. An available SUV would not satisfy that same requirement simply because it carried the Maserati badge. Write down which elements are essential and which finishes you would accept changing.
For GranTurismo, consider how often rear passengers travel and what luggage accompanies them on longer journeys. Grecale requires a different family-access and loading assessment. Personal Contract Hire places the commitment with you, so obtain an insurance quotation for the exact version and understand the servicing route before agreeing. If ownership at the end is the objective, raise it at the outset: contract hire provides use followed by return, rather than a contractual purchase option. The chosen agreement should reflect the intended experience as well as the supplied car.
An identified Folgore may use the electric category; a petrol or mild-hybrid car follows certified emissions. These conditional bands are not assigned to an unconfirmed vehicle.
For an employee or director with private use, the taxable benefit normally starts with the car’s P11D value multiplied by the applicable BiK percentage. Personal tax then depends on the individual’s income tax rate and any relevant adjustments. The percentage is not the tax rate applied to the lease rental. A sole trader’s own business car use follows different rules.
The agreement can cross several tax years. Compare the whole path, not just the percentage in the year the car arrives.
| Tax specification | 2026/27 | 2027/28 | 2028/29 | 2029/30 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Zero-emission electric car | 4% | 5% | 7% | 9% |
| Maximum petrol / qualifying diesel band | 37% | 37% | 38% | 39% |
These are conditional tax bands, not assigned rates for every Maserati. Confirm the supplied car’s P11D, certified CO2, fuel type and registration date. Diesel supplements can apply where the required emissions certification is absent, subject to the annual maximum.
Use our company-car BiK guide alongside HMRC’s 2026/27 and 2027/28 tables and the published 2028/29 and 2029/30 changes. Tax information checked 24 September 2026 against the C1 ledger and its primary sources. Tax treatment depends on individual circumstances and may change; consult your accountant.
Vehicle Excise Duty (VED). For 2026/27, the standard annual VED payment after the first year is £200 before any supplement. First-year VED depends on CO2 and registration rules; zero-emission cars currently have a £10 first-year rate. These cash rates apply to 2026/27 only; later annual VED rates are not confirmed here. Ask how the funder treats tax increases during your agreement.
Expensive Car Supplement. The Expensive Car Supplement is currently £440 a year for five years from the second licence. The list-price threshold is more than £40,000 for petrol, diesel and hybrid cars, or more than £50,000 for qualifying zero-emission cars registered from 1 April 2025. Use the published list price before discounts, including relevant options, and check the registration date. Plug-in hybrids do not receive the electric-car threshold. GOV.UK explains VED and the supplement.
Planned eVED. The government plans Electric Vehicle Excise Duty (eVED) from April 2028, alongside VED: 3p per mile for electric cars and 1.5p per mile for plug-in hybrids. This is proposed for April 2028, subject to legislation and implementation; it is not a charge currently in force. The stated rates are planned starting rates, with CPI uprating proposed from 2029/30 and later cash rates not confirmed. An agreement spanning introduction needs the funder’s written treatment of the charge and later changes. Check the government’s consultation response and final implementation guidance before committing.
For an electric Maserati enquiry, map the places the car can charge during a normal week and on repeated longer trips. A Folgore badge is not a charging specification. The actual battery, motors, wheels and model year need to support any range or charging figure supplied with a proposal. Until the specific car is confirmed, a numerical headline would give false precision.
For petrol or mild-hybrid alternatives, investigate fuel use on the actual journey pattern and the availability of suitable servicing. Compare the likely insurance, tyres and energy costs over the proposed annual mileage. A manufacturer performance demonstration does not establish ordinary commuting costs. For either powertrain, a desirable option that changes wheels or equipment may also change relevant certification and running costs. Keep those effects attached to the exact quotation and revisit them if a supplier offers a different car during the search.
Ask for the warranty booklet applying to the exact Maserati, its commencement date and any registration history. The current evidence does not establish one universal numerical entitlement across the proposed model years and powertrains, so this page does not assign one. Folgore battery protection, the rest of the vehicle, roadside assistance and any additional cover may have different conditions.
Identify where scheduled servicing and authorised repairs would take place. That is part of choosing a car you can use comfortably, particularly when it is needed for daily business travel. A maintenance proposal should list the services, tyres and exclusions it actually covers, alongside any authorisation requirements. Manufacturer cover for eligible defects does not settle accidental damage or the funder’s return standard. If the agreement extends beyond a warranty period, establish the responsibility for that period before signing rather than assuming a prestige badge supplies an extension.
Tell IVF your annual mileage, regular passengers, essential equipment, charging access where relevant and preferred timing. Ask for the precise model year, derivative, options and registration status to be written into the quotation. The catalogue is a starting point; the offered vehicle and funder terms need confirmation.
Business Contract Hire is taken by the business; Personal Contract Hire is taken by the private individual. Both are subject to status and individual funder criteria. Compare the initial rental, term, mileage, maintenance and applicable fees on the same basis. An initial rental is part of the hire cost, not refundable security or ownership equity.
A manufacturer warranty starts under the supplied car’s warranty terms, normally from first registration. Its time and mileage limits may finish before your lease does. It is separate from optional servicing and tyre cover. Confirm maintenance inclusions, insurance responsibilities, tax provisions and early-termination terms before signing.
At the end of contract hire, return the vehicle; there is no contractual purchase option. Excess mileage, damage beyond the funder’s fair wear and tear standard, missing equipment or other contractual charges may still be payable. Check the return process before choosing your agreement.
Use business car leasing, personal contract hire, company-car tax guide, VAT on business leasing, request a callback, electric car leasing, Lotus Eletre, Business Contract Hire, Genesis GV60, Lotus Emeya to narrow your choice or discuss a quotation.
IVF can investigate Maserati leasing against a specific vehicle and requirement. The current route contains Grecale catalogue descriptions, but a listing does not establish allocation, funding or delivery. Send the intended model, powertrain, equipment and timing so the team can confirm whether a suitable proposal is available.
Hold body, generation, drivetrain and essential equipment constant, then compare the complete term, mileage, maintenance and fees. A petrol Grecale and Folgore are different propositions. If the offered car changes, reassess insurance, tax and practical fit rather than comparing only the rental.
Grecale is the SUV brief, GranTurismo the fixed-roof touring brief and GranCabrio the open-top touring brief. Describe regular passengers, luggage and parking as well as the driving experience you want. Any actual car and agreement still need separate supply confirmation.
It identifies the electric model family. It does not mean every Maserati is electric or that a particular car is available through IVF. Confirm the full UK specification before using a charging claim or the zero-emission company-car percentage.
Catalogue descriptions can span earlier and later generations, including mild-hybrid, V6 and electric versions. The same model name does not establish one engine, battery or certification. Ask for the exact model year, derivative and registration details in the quotation.
Only if the manufacturer evidence matches the supplied car. Hardware, wheels, equipment and certification may change between model years. A current range, performance or charging headline must not be assigned automatically to an earlier catalogue entry.
No available agreement is established here. They appear in Maserati’s current UK model context, but manufacturer navigation does not prove IVF stock or funding. A specialist enquiry must establish a particular car, appropriate use, insurance and funder acceptance.
Keep open-top use explicit, then assess roof operation, parking clearance, rear-seat access and luggage in the roof position you expect to use. Confirm the exact body and specification. An SUV is not an equivalent alternative when a convertible is the central requirement.
Do not assume inclusion. Obtain the warranty terms for the exact UK car and compare them with the proposed maintenance package. Covered defects, routine servicing, tyres, assistance and condition at return are separate responsibilities and can have different limits.
Discuss BCH or PCH with IVF once a suitable vehicle and funding route are identified. Both remain subject to status and individual funder criteria, and contract hire ends with return rather than a purchase option. Business tax requires the exact supplied car and your accountant’s assessment.
