Your Mazda CX-6e leasing decision

Intelligent Vehicle Finance can discuss Mazda CX-6e leasing ahead of its stated late-2026 UK arrival. Mazda’s UK announcement identifies Takumi and Takumi Plus versions of this electric SUV. Register your requirements, compare charging access and cabin preferences, and keep any delivery expectation conditional until a specific UK vehicle and agreement are confirmed.

CX-6e leasing: plan around the UK arrival

Mazda’s UK announcement of 1 September 2026 places the CX-6e’s UK arrival late in the year. That is the timing to use for this enquiry, rather than the earlier European launch or a catalogue row appearing online. The current useful step is to register your requirements and establish what can be confirmed for your intended replacement date.

For a business driver, the attraction of an electric SUV should be tested against both the charging routine and the vehicle timetable. If your existing agreement ends before a suitable CX-6e can be confirmed, discuss other current choices as well. A manufacturer arrival window is not a delivery commitment from IVF or a funder.

The CX-6e may suit someone wanting a Mazda electric SUV, but it is not simply a CX-60 with a different engine. It also has a different body from the Mazda6e. Compare the actual cabin, controls and loading arrangements when a suitable UK demonstrator can be inspected.

Mazda CX-6e leasing: key facts

  • Mazda’s UK press announcement dated 1 September 2026 says CX-6e will arrive in the UK late in 2026.
  • UK launch specifications identify Takumi and Takumi Plus, with a 78 kWh battery and rear-wheel drive.
  • Takumi has 19-inch wheels as standard, with a 21-inch option; Takumi Plus has 21-inch wheels in the UK launch specification.
  • The UK configurator distinguishes traditional side mirrors on Takumi from digital side mirrors on Takumi Plus.
  • IVF’s checked grid has three 190 kW 78 kWh entries: Takumi, Takumi with 21-inch wheels and Takumi Plus; these do not prove delivery availability.
  • GOV.UK: zero-emission company-car BiK is 4% in 2026/27, rising to 9% in 2029/30.

These are different vehicle choices, not identical specifications or a ranking. Check the precise powertrain, equipment and availability of each before comparing quotations.

Takumi, Takumi Plus and the catalogue entries

The IVF route captured on 28 September 2026 shows three descriptions: 190 kW Takumi 78 kWh, Takumi with 21-inch alloy wheels, and Takumi Plus. Mazda’s UK announcement and configurator support the two-grade structure and wheel distinction. The entries do not establish that cars are ready for delivery or that a specific colour can meet a fixed date.

Before comparing an offer, ask for the final UK specification, model year, wheels and any selected options. Do not import details from the Chinese-market vehicle, a European press car or another Mazda electric model. Even where the core engineering is related, the equipment and local approval relevant to your agreement must be the UK version.

The live grid displays rental figures, but an agreement needs an identified specification, current funder terms and a credible supply position. Use the numbers with their selected mileage and term, and keep delivery expectations conditional until confirmed in writing for your particular enquiry.

Mirrors and cabin controls are a real choice

The UK configurator distinguishes the Takumi’s traditional side mirrors from the digital side-mirror arrangement on Takumi Plus. That is a feature to experience, not merely an upgrade label. Drivers vary in how naturally they use a screen-based view, especially when manoeuvring or changing vehicles frequently.

Try the seating position and sight lines together. Adjust the seat as you would on a normal journey and check where you look for the side and rear views. If several employees might drive the car, include familiarisation in your plan rather than assuming every driver will immediately adapt to the same arrangement.

The large central display also deserves an ordinary-use demonstration. Check climate adjustments, navigation, phone connection and the functions you use while parked. Decide which features matter to you before choosing the grade. A longer equipment list is less useful than knowing the essential controls feel manageable in daily use.

Build a charging plan before relying on electric range

The announced battery size identifies the launch configuration, but it is not the amount of energy you will necessarily add in every charging session. Nor can it predict your own journey distance without considering conditions. Ask for the final UK derivative data and match any published range claim to the wheels and specification being quoted.

At home, confirm installation permission, parking access and the electrical supply. For workplace charging, check whether access is dependable and how payment is handled. If you will use public chargers, plan around real stops and alternative locations rather than a peak charging-power figure printed in a launch announcement.

This page does not promise a numeric driving range or charging time for every catalogue row. Weather, battery temperature, starting charge, load and charger output can all matter. A long-distance business journey needs a practical stop plan and some flexibility, especially while you become familiar with a new electric vehicle.

SUV practicality and the Mazda alternatives

Test the rear seats with the driver’s seat in its normal position, then load the bags and equipment you use most often. A family car and a business car can be the same vehicle, but the combined requirement needs to be checked. Look at the load opening, storage for charging cables and whether luggage remains accessible with passengers aboard.

Compare Mazda6e if the electric powertrain appeals but you do not necessarily need the CX-6e body style. Compare CX-60 if you are still deciding between a fully electric SUV and a different powertrain routine. These are separate model decisions; none should borrow another’s tax, towing or equipment figures.

Mazda’s September 2026 UK CX-6e guide states a six-year or 100,000-mile vehicle warranty, whichever comes first, for registrations from 1 September 2025. It lists separate eight-year or 100,000-mile high-voltage battery cover. Obtain the full terms for the supplied car, including battery conditions and servicing obligations. Ask separately about maintenance-package inclusions and workshop arrangements from your location.

Mazda CX-6e company-car tax across the lease

For a qualifying zero-emission CX-6e company car, compare the full electric BiK path rather than only its arrival-year percentage. The supplied car’s P11D and registration details must be confirmed; an announced UK model does not establish a current leasing offer.

For an employee or director with private use, the taxable benefit normally starts with the car’s P11D value multiplied by the applicable BiK percentage. Personal tax then depends on the individual’s income tax rate and any relevant adjustments. The percentage is not the tax rate applied to the lease rental. A sole trader’s own business car use follows different rules.

The agreement can cross several tax years. Compare the whole path, not just the percentage in the year the car arrives.

Tax information checked 28 September 2026 against the C1 ledger and its primary sources. Tax treatment depends on individual circumstances and may change; consult your accountant.

Road tax and costs across the term

Vehicle Excise Duty (VED). For 2026/27, the standard annual VED payment after the first year is £200 before any supplement. First-year VED depends on CO2 and registration rules; zero-emission cars currently have a £10 first-year rate. These cash rates apply to 2026/27 only; later annual VED rates are not confirmed here. Ask how the funder treats tax increases during your agreement.

Expensive Car Supplement. The Expensive Car Supplement is currently £440 a year for five years from the second licence. The list-price threshold is more than £40,000 for petrol, diesel and hybrid cars, or more than £50,000 for qualifying zero-emission cars registered from 1 April 2025. Use the published list price before discounts, including relevant options, and check the registration date. Plug-in hybrids do not receive the electric-car threshold. GOV.UK explains VED and the supplement.

Planned eVED. The government plans Electric Vehicle Excise Duty (eVED) from April 2028, alongside VED: 3p per mile for electric cars and 1.5p per mile for plug-in hybrids. This is proposed for April 2028, subject to legislation and implementation; it is not a charge currently in force. The stated rates are planned starting rates, with CPI uprating proposed from 2029/30 and later cash rates not confirmed. An agreement spanning introduction needs the funder’s written treatment of the charge and later changes. Check the government’s consultation response and final implementation guidance before committing.

VAT and the business accounts

VAT-registered businesses can normally reclaim 50% of the VAT on qualifying car rentals where private use is available, depending on circumstances and the normal VAT rules. Full rental-VAT recovery requires exclusive business use with no private availability. Maintenance can fall outside the rental block when it is genuinely optional, separately described in the contract and separately quantified on the invoice; recovery remains subject to normal VAT rules. Read HMRC’s motoring VAT guidance.

Businesses using the VAT Flat Rate Scheme do not normally recover input VAT on recurring car hire. The separate capital-goods exception does not turn hire invoices into a vehicle purchase. Check HMRC’s Flat Rate Scheme guidance.

A zero-emission car is not subject to the CO2-based lease-rental restriction. Check HMRC’s car-hire deduction rules.

For accounting periods beginning on or after 1 January 2026, revised FRS 102 generally requires a right-of-use asset and lease liability for lessees, including small companies using Section 1A. FRS 105 lease accounting for eligible micro-entities was not changed in the same way. Contract hire therefore does not universally keep a car off the balance sheet. Ask your accountant to apply the right framework; HMRC summarises the accounting standards.

Build the quotation around the way you will use it

Tell IVF your annual mileage, regular passengers, essential equipment, charging access where relevant and preferred timing. Ask for the precise model year, derivative, options and registration status to be written into the quotation. The catalogue is a starting point; the offered vehicle and funder terms need confirmation.

Business Contract Hire is taken by the business; Personal Contract Hire is taken by the private individual. Both are subject to status and individual funder criteria. Compare the initial rental, term, mileage, maintenance and applicable fees on the same basis. An initial rental is part of the hire cost, not refundable security or ownership equity.

A manufacturer warranty starts under the supplied car’s warranty terms, normally from first registration. Its time and mileage limits may finish before your lease does. It is separate from optional servicing and tyre cover. Confirm maintenance inclusions, insurance responsibilities, tax provisions and early-termination terms before signing.

At the end of contract hire, return the vehicle; there is no contractual purchase option. Excess mileage, damage beyond the funder’s fair wear and tear standard, missing equipment or other contractual charges may still be payable. Check the return process before choosing your agreement.

Mazda CX-6e leasing questions

When is the Mazda CX-6e arriving in the UK?

Mazda’s UK press announcement dated 1 September 2026 says late 2026. A European launch or an IVF catalogue listing does not establish UK delivery for a particular customer. Confirm the actual vehicle and timing before committing.

Can I request a CX-6e business lease now?

You can register your business requirements and ask IVF what can be confirmed. Keep the vehicle specification, supply position and funder terms explicit. A launch announcement is not a confirmed allocation or delivery date.

What should a personal CX-6e enquiry include?

Tell IVF your replacement timing, charging access, annual mileage and passenger requirements. State whether traditional or digital side mirrors appeal to you, and try the cabin when a suitable UK demonstration is available.

Which CX-6e grades are announced for the UK?

Mazda identifies Takumi and Takumi Plus. IVF’s grid also separates a Takumi entry with 21-inch wheels. Confirm the final UK equipment and wheels in the actual quotation rather than relying only on the grade name.

Is CX-6e a plug-in hybrid?

The announced UK CX-6e is battery-electric. It needs external charging. It is a different vehicle from the CX-60 and should not inherit that model’s powertrain, tax or equipment assumptions.

Do Takumi and Takumi Plus use the same mirrors?

The UK configurator describes traditional side mirrors for Takumi and digital side mirrors for Takumi Plus. Experience the arrangement from your own driving position before deciding which grade suits you.

Does the battery size tell me my real driving range?

No. Battery size alone does not determine the distance you will achieve. Match any manufacturer range claim to the final derivative and wheels, then allow for weather, load, route and normal charging habits.

Will a high-power public charger deliver the advertised peak throughout?

Do not assume a peak is sustained for the whole session. Battery temperature, starting charge and the charger’s actual output affect charging. Plan realistic stops and check the supplied car’s charging specification.

What company-car tax path applies to an electric CX-6e?

A qualifying zero-emission company car follows the electric BiK path shown in the main body. The actual P11D and your personal tax circumstances still matter. That framework does not establish availability or the final contract cost.

Should I choose CX-6e rather than Mazda6e?

Compare the body layout, seating, luggage and timing rather than the similar names. Both enquiries need their own specification check. Choose the car that fits your ordinary journeys and can meet a confirmed replacement plan.
