Your Peugeot 3008 leasing decision

Intelligent Vehicle Finance helps business and personal customers compare Peugeot 3008 hybrid, plug-in hybrid and electric E-3008 leasing. IVF lists all three on this route. Start with charging access and passenger needs, then identify the exact powertrain and model year; the 5008 is a separate choice for a different seating requirement.

Peugeot 3008 business and personal leasing: three different decisions

The 3008 is unusual on a leasing shortlist because the same broad vehicle family allows you to consider three different energy arrangements. An ordinary hybrid supports a petrol-led routine without a mains connection. A plug-in hybrid makes regular external charging part of the case while retaining a petrol engine. The E-3008 removes the combustion engine and needs a fully electric journey plan.

Start with the arrangement you can sustain through a normal week. A company driver using different overnight locations has a different charging problem from someone with a dedicated home space. The powertrain that fits those patterns should lead the grade decision, followed by seating position, equipment and the complete agreement.

Peugeot 3008 leasing: key facts

  • IVF’s captured 3008 route includes ordinary hybrid, plug-in hybrid and battery-electric E-3008 descriptions. The common route does not mean common tax treatment.
  • Peugeot UK’s May 2026 announcement identifies Hybrid 145 e-DSC6 and Plug-in Hybrid 225 e-DSC7; older 136 and 195 descriptions remain in the IVF catalogue.
  • Peugeot’s UK material identifies a 73 kWh electric version and a separate 97 kWh Long Range version. Match the supplied battery and model year.
  • The UK press material also identifies a Dual Motor electric version rated at 325 hp; do not assign its drivetrain to a single-motor car.
  • Peugeot’s current UK electric page advertises up to 435 miles WLTP range for the E-3008 range. This is a Long Range benchmark, not a figure for every IVF 73 kWh or Dual Motor entry; exact grade, wheels and model year require confirmation.
  • GOV.UK: the maximum company-car BiK band is 37% in 2026/27 and 39% in 2029/30; the exact car can fall in a lower band.

RouteMain buying questionCheck before deciding
Peugeot 3008 / E-3008Do you want ordinary hybrid, plug-in hybrid or fully electric driving?Identify the complete derivative; the same family name covers materially different cars.
Peugeot 5008Does your passenger brief require the larger seating proposition?Test the occupied-seat and luggage arrangement on the actual version.
Skoda EnyaqWhich electric SUV works with your charging and cabin needs?Compare equivalent batteries, equipment and contract assumptions rather than only maximum range.

The Enyaq is an electric comparison for the E-3008, not a claim that the ordinary hybrid 3008 has the same charging requirements.

Separate the current powertrains from retained catalogue descriptions

The IVF capture contains 27 derivative rows. Ordinary hybrid entries include 136 and 145 descriptions; plug-in rows include 195 and 225; electric entries include 157 kW 73 kWh, 169 kW Long Range 97 kWh and 239 kW Dual Motor 73 kWh. Allure, Allure Premium, GT, GT Premium and Launch Edition wording appears. Some rows also carry NI, which should be clarified rather than interpreted without confirmation.

Peugeot UK’s May 2026 release identifies the Hybrid 145 and Plug-in Hybrid 225, while its earlier GT Premium release describes the 195 plug-in. A similar number can also appear in an older generation’s literature. Ask for the current UK vehicle identification, gearbox, model year and specification document instead of deciding that all 225 entries are the same car.

E-3008 range is a battery-and-grade question

Peugeot’s UK electric page quotes up to 435 miles WLTP for the E-3008 range. Treat that as a Long Range benchmark requiring confirmation of the exact battery, grade, wheels and model year. It is not a promise for every 73 kWh entry or the Dual Motor version. Actual journeys depend on speed, temperature, load and starting charge, and a motorway day needs its own margin.

Separate battery capacity from charging opportunity. The useful question is whether the car can recover the energy needed during the time you normally park, with a workable rapid-charging alternative for longer trips. Ask for the particular car’s AC capability, DC charging conditions and included cable. Do not combine the longest-range derivative’s distance with another derivative’s charging headline.

For the plug-in hybrid, assess electricity and petrol together. Regular charging can change how the vehicle is used, but a weighted laboratory consumption figure does not describe a motorway trip starting with a depleted battery. Compare the ordinary hybrid as well when reliable charging is uncertain.

Try the driving position before selecting equipment

Peugeot’s cabin arrangement should be tried with the seat and steering wheel adjusted for you. Check your view of the displays, access to familiar functions and the ease of using the car in traffic. Do not assume a feature that looks appealing in a showroom will remain comfortable over a long working day. If more than one person drives, repeat the adjustment for each of them.

Check rear-seat access and load the boot with your normal belongings. A fastback profile makes the shape of taller luggage worth testing. For a business, include presentation cases or other regularly carried equipment; for a household, include the folded pushchair or travel bags. Finally, compare the actual grade’s cameras, seating and lighting against that practical test. Choose equipment for a clear purpose and document it in the quotation.

Peugeot 3008 company-car tax across the lease

One Peugeot 3008 route can lead to three company-car tax calculations. The E-3008 is zero-emission; a qualifying plug-in hybrid uses conditional rules; the ordinary hybrid follows its certified CO2 band. A shared body style does not justify applying one percentage to all three.

For an employee or director, calculate the benefit from the specific car’s P11D value and the appropriate percentage, then apply the personal tax position. An electric version’s low initial percentage should still be assessed across later tax years. The private lease rental and the employer-provided benefit are different calculations.

The table is a comparison framework. The PHEV row requires the actual certificate to establish both emissions and electric range, and any certification easement must be checked separately. Do not carry a tax figure from a retained 195 catalogue entry onto a differently certified 225 car without reviewing its documents.

These are conditional tax bands, not assigned rates for every Peugeot 3008. Confirm the supplied car’s P11D, certified CO2, fuel type and registration date. Diesel supplements can apply where the required emissions certification is absent, subject to the annual maximum.

The electric-mile figures above are HMRC band thresholds, not promises of this car’s driving range. Newer plug-in hybrid certification can show more than 50 g/km. A temporary company-car easement may treat an eligible car as 1 g/km where the registration date, electric range and Euro-status conditions are met; it is not automatic and must not be transferred to lease-rental deductions. Check the vehicle documents and HMRC’s plug-in hybrid conditions with your accountant.

Use our company-car BiK guide alongside HMRC’s 2026/27 and 2027/28 tables and the published 2028/29 and 2029/30 changes. Tax information checked 24 September 2026 against the C1 ledger and its primary sources. Tax treatment depends on individual circumstances and may change; consult your accountant.

Road tax and costs across the term

Vehicle Excise Duty (VED). For 2026/27, the standard annual VED payment after the first year is £200 before any supplement. First-year VED depends on CO2 and registration rules; zero-emission cars currently have a £10 first-year rate. These cash rates apply to 2026/27 only; later annual VED rates are not confirmed here. Ask how the funder treats tax increases during your agreement.

Expensive Car Supplement. The Expensive Car Supplement is currently £440 a year for five years from the second licence. The list-price threshold is more than £40,000 for petrol, diesel and hybrid cars, or more than £50,000 for qualifying zero-emission cars registered from 1 April 2025. Use the published list price before discounts, including relevant options, and check the registration date. Plug-in hybrids do not receive the electric-car threshold. GOV.UK explains VED and the supplement.

Planned eVED. The government plans Electric Vehicle Excise Duty (eVED) from April 2028, alongside VED: 3p per mile for electric cars and 1.5p per mile for plug-in hybrids. This is proposed for April 2028, subject to legislation and implementation; it is not a charge currently in force. The stated rates are planned starting rates, with CPI uprating proposed from 2029/30 and later cash rates not confirmed. An agreement spanning introduction needs the funder’s written treatment of the charge and later changes. Check the government’s consultation response and final implementation guidance before committing.

VAT and the business accounts

VAT-registered businesses can normally reclaim 50% of the VAT on qualifying car rentals where private use is available, depending on circumstances and the normal VAT rules. Full rental-VAT recovery requires exclusive business use with no private availability. Maintenance can fall outside the rental block when it is genuinely optional, separately described in the contract and separately quantified on the invoice; recovery remains subject to normal VAT rules. Read HMRC’s motoring VAT guidance.

Businesses using the VAT Flat Rate Scheme do not normally recover input VAT on recurring car hire. The separate capital-goods exception does not turn hire invoices into a vehicle purchase. Check HMRC’s Flat Rate Scheme guidance.

The hire-cost rules normally disallow 15% of otherwise deductible rentals for cars above 50 g/km, subject to their scope and exceptions. A company-car BiK easement does not establish relief from this restriction. Check HMRC’s car-hire deduction rules.

For accounting periods beginning on or after 1 January 2026, revised FRS 102 generally requires a right-of-use asset and lease liability for lessees, including small companies using Section 1A. FRS 105 lease accounting for eligible micro-entities was not changed in the same way. Contract hire therefore does not universally keep a car off the balance sheet. Ask your accountant to apply the right framework; HMRC summarises the accounting standards.

Build the quotation around the way you will use it

Tell IVF your annual mileage, regular passengers, essential equipment, charging access where relevant and preferred timing. Ask for the precise model year, derivative, options and registration status to be written into the quotation. The catalogue is a starting point; the offered vehicle and funder terms need confirmation.

Business Contract Hire is taken by the business; Personal Contract Hire is taken by the private individual. Both are subject to status and individual funder criteria. Compare the initial rental, term, mileage, maintenance and applicable fees on the same basis. An initial rental is part of the hire cost, not refundable security or ownership equity.

A manufacturer warranty starts under the supplied car’s warranty terms, normally from first registration. Its time and mileage limits may finish before your lease does. It is separate from optional servicing and tyre cover. Confirm maintenance inclusions, insurance responsibilities, tax provisions and early-termination terms before signing.

At the end of contract hire, return the vehicle; there is no contractual purchase option. Excess mileage, damage beyond the funder’s fair wear and tear standard, missing equipment or other contractual charges may still be payable. Check the return process before choosing your agreement.

Peugeot 3008 leasing questions

Does this route include the electric Peugeot E-3008?

Yes. IVF’s captured 3008 route lists electric E-3008 derivatives alongside ordinary hybrid and plug-in hybrid versions. State which powertrain you mean when enquiring. Battery, charging, emissions and tax information must be matched to the exact vehicle rather than applied across the shared route.

Can I compare 3008 business and personal leasing?

IVF can discuss both routes subject to status, funder criteria and vehicle availability. Business users should add the relevant company-car and accounting assessment. Private customers should compare their own fuel or electricity costs and the complete agreement after selecting the appropriate powertrain.

Does the ordinary hybrid 3008 need a charging cable?

The ordinary hybrid is a different proposition from the externally rechargeable plug-in hybrid and electric E-3008. Choose the full derivative first. The word hybrid alone does not establish that the car has a charging socket or qualifies for a range-based plug-in company-car band.

Why are both 195 and 225 plug-in descriptions listed?

The captured catalogue retains different plug-in descriptions. Peugeot UK’s earlier GT Premium release used 195, while its May 2026 release identifies Plug-in Hybrid 225 e-DSC7. Confirm the offered model year and technical document; the number alone is insufficient to establish generation, emissions or equipment.

Does every E-3008 travel up to 435 miles?

No. The UK manufacturer’s up-to-435-mile WLTP headline is a Long Range benchmark, not a figure for every 73 kWh or Dual Motor entry. Match battery, grade, wheels and model year to the quotation. Real range varies with the journey, weather, load and starting charge.

Is the E-3008 Dual Motor the same as Long Range?

No. The captured names identify a Dual Motor 73 kWh branch and a Long Range 97 kWh branch. They answer different performance and journey priorities. Do not combine the range of one with the drivetrain or charging figures of the other when building a comparison.

Should I choose the 3008 or 5008 for more passengers?

Begin with the number of occupied seats you need. The 3008 is the five-seat choice discussed here; the 5008 route addresses a different seating proposition. Inspect the actual version’s passenger access and remaining luggage space instead of assuming a higher 3008 trim adds a third row.

What does NI mean in a 3008 catalogue description?

The captured route includes that suffix, but its precise applicability has not been established for a quotation. Ask IVF to explain the market, registration and supply conditions for the offered car. Do not assume the shortened label guarantees eligibility, equipment or availability for your location.

Will a plug-in 3008 keep the same company-car percentage?

No. The conditional 1-50 g/km PHEV bands change, reaching 18% in 2028/29 and 19% in 2029/30. E-3008 zero-emission percentages follow a different path. Your accountant should apply the exact certificate, taxable value and circumstances over the intended agreement rather than only its first year.

Which details should I send for a 3008 quotation?

Send the desired powertrain, passenger and luggage requirements, charging arrangements and essential equipment, plus mileage and preferred contract terms. Ask for model year, options, maintenance and fees to be explicit. Include any market-specific suffix in the discussion and confirm the actual vehicle before relying on the catalogue description.
