Your Volkswagen Touran leasing decision

Intelligent Vehicle Finance treats Volkswagen Touran leasing as a specific-vehicle check: Volkswagen UK says it is no longer available to order. IVF’s remaining catalogue entries do not establish supply. Assess the compact seven-seat MPV layout, then compare Multivan or Tayron if a suitable Touran cannot be confirmed.

Volkswagen Touran business and personal leasing: a compact MPV enquiry

Touran appeals to drivers who want an additional row in a relatively compact people-carrier shape, rather than choosing an SUV for its appearance. The task might be a family journey after a week of business driving, or a household whose passenger numbers change between school days and weekends. Its practical appeal should be assessed through access and seating, not assumed from the MPV label.

The current supply position comes first. Volkswagen UK's page says Touran is no longer available to order. Four IVF catalogue entries remain, but these do not establish that a new car can be supplied. Treat this as a specific-vehicle enquiry and have an alternative brief ready. A useful page should help you identify the right passenger arrangement even if the named model cannot be confirmed.

Volkswagen Touran leasing: key facts

  • Volkswagen UK says Touran is no longer available to order, checked 24 September 2026.
  • The UK dimensions page lists a 4,527 mm length and 2,786 mm wheelbase for the referenced body.
  • Volkswagen gives a width of 1,829 mm excluding mirrors; allow additional space for mirrors and doors.
  • The published height reference is 1,674 mm; accessories and the specific car need checking.
  • IVF lists four 1.5 TSI EVO petrol entries across Match, SEL and R-Line, with manual and DSG descriptions.
  • GOV.UK: the maximum company-car BiK band is 37% in 2026/27 and 39% in 2029/30; the exact car can fall in a lower band.

TayronSUV alternative for a larger householdConfirm seat count for the chosen engine

Compare the exact seating layout and powertrain being quoted. A live model route is a research starting point, not confirmation of an available vehicle.

What remains in the captured IVF Touran table

All four descriptions use the 1.5 TSI EVO petrol engine label. They are Match without a DSG suffix, Match DSG, SEL DSG and R-Line DSG. No diesel, plug-in hybrid or electric Touran was established in this capture. Older range information may describe other engines, but it should not be presented as a current IVF menu of choices.

Ask for the exact vehicle identity, model year, transmission, registration status and fitted equipment before comparing agreements. A final specification matters particularly where the car can no longer be configured as a normal factory order. If a seat function or assistance feature is essential, have it confirmed on that vehicle. Do not assume a feature can be added later or that a higher grade resolves every passenger requirement.

Test the second row before judging the third

Touran's appeal depends on how the rows work together. Put the driver in the correct position and arrange the second row as it will actually be used. Then check access to the back, belt reach and the space for each passenger. If you have several child seats, verify each installation with the seat manufacturer's guidance and the car's approved positions rather than assuming that a wide-looking bench settles the matter.

The luggage question must use the same seating arrangement. A demonstration with the rear row folded does not show how holiday bags fit when all the required passengers are aboard. Check the actual load you carry, how it can be restrained and whether rearward visibility remains suitable. If the car meets the school-run requirement but not the journey that uses every seat, recognise that limitation before committing.

Use the dimensions to screen your parking

Volkswagen's UK dimensions page gives a 4,527 mm length, a 2,786 mm wheelbase and a width of 1,829 mm excluding mirrors. Those references explain why Touran can interest someone seeking a compact passenger package, but the mirror exclusion is important. Measure the narrowest part of your access and include space for occupants to open the doors rather than relying on the bare body width.

The published height reference is 1,674 mm. Check the supplied vehicle and any intended roof equipment before relying on a barrier clearance. Also allow for the tailgate when parked close to a wall and assess the manoeuvre into the bay. A car that fits on paper can still be inconvenient if passengers must climb out before you park or if luggage cannot be reached in the normal space.

Match, SEL and R-Line: prioritise useful equipment

For this enquiry, trim selection should follow the confirmed vehicle rather than a wish list based on historic brochures. Assess the driver's seat, climate controls, visibility and parking aids in the actual specification. If adults or children spend substantial time in the rear, check ventilation and access to the features they will use. A sportier exterior treatment does not answer those questions.

The same applies to manual versus DSG. Try the transmission in slow traffic and parking if those form a large part of your routine. A shared business car needs to suit every intended driver, while a private household may value familiar controls over a particular grade name. Establish the practical requirements first, then compare the available car on its merits rather than choosing by catalogue order.

Move the passenger brief to Multivan or Tayron if needed

Multivan is the relevant alternative when passenger access, configurable seats and luggage organisation are the priority, but its larger body requires a fresh parking assessment. Tayron is the SUV comparison and needs a version-specific seat-count check. Neither is a direct substitute simply because it can be discussed for a larger household. Decide whether compact dimensions, an additional row or cabin flexibility is the requirement you cannot compromise.

Tell IVF whether the enquiry can move to those alternatives if Touran supply is not established. Give the required passenger layout, child-seat considerations, annual mileage and usual luggage, together with essential equipment. For a company car, request the actual petrol derivative's P11D and CO2 details. For a personal lease, compare the entire agreement and the day-to-day fit, not a familiar model name on an unconfirmed listing.

Volkswagen Touran company-car tax across the lease

The remaining Touran catalogue entries are petrol, and each company-car assessment needs the supplied vehicle’s P11D, CO2 and registration details. An older technical guide cannot establish a later car’s tax band. The maximum-band path below is a conditional illustration, not a claim that every listed Touran sits at the maximum.

Where company-car rules apply, private availability normally creates a benefit based on P11D value and the appropriate percentage. The employee’s income-tax rate then determines personal tax, subject to adjustments. Sole traders follow different rules. Compare every tax year crossed by the agreement.

Conditional examples, not assigned rates for every Volkswagen Touran. Confirm P11D, CO2, fuel and registration. A diesel supplement can apply without the required emissions certification, within the annual maximum.

Use our company-car BiK guide alongside HMRC’s 2026/27 and 2027/28 tables and the published 2028/29 and 2029/30 changes. Checked 24 September 2026 against C1 and primary sources. Tax depends on circumstances and may change; consult your accountant.

Road tax and costs across the term

Vehicle Excise Duty (VED). Under the ordinary post-April-2017 car regime, standard annual VED is £200 in 2026/27 after year one, before any supplement. First-year liability depends on certified CO2 and registration. Later annual cash rates are not confirmed here; check how your funder handles changes.

Expensive Car Supplement. The 2026/27 supplement is £440 annually for five years from the second licence, above a £40,000 list-price threshold for petrol, diesel and hybrid cars. Include relevant options and check registration rules. The £50,000 threshold is for qualifying zero-emission cars, not these plug-ins. GOV.UK explains VED and the supplement.

Planned eVED. The government proposes eVED alongside VED from April 2028: starting rates of 3p per mile for electric cars and 1.5p for PHEVs. It is not in force and remains subject to legislation and implementation. CPI uprating is proposed from 2029/30; later cash rates are unconfirmed. Ask how a spanning agreement would handle the charge. Check the government’s consultation response and final guidance. The Volkswagen Touran powertrain discussed here is outside those planned electric and plug-in hybrid categories.

VAT and the business accounts

VAT-registered businesses can normally reclaim 50% of the VAT on qualifying car rentals where private use is available, depending on circumstances and the normal VAT rules. Full rental-VAT recovery requires exclusive business use with no private availability. Maintenance can fall outside the rental block when it is genuinely optional, separately described in the contract and separately quantified on the invoice; recovery remains subject to normal VAT rules. Read HMRC’s motoring VAT guidance.

Businesses using the VAT Flat Rate Scheme do not normally recover input VAT on recurring car hire. The separate capital-goods exception does not turn hire invoices into a vehicle purchase. Check HMRC’s Flat Rate Scheme guidance.

The hire-cost rules normally disallow 15% of otherwise deductible rentals for cars above 50 g/km, subject to their scope and exceptions. A company-car BiK easement does not establish relief from this restriction. Check HMRC’s car-hire deduction rules.

For accounting periods beginning on or after 1 January 2026, revised FRS 102 generally requires a right-of-use asset and lease liability for lessees, including small companies using Section 1A. FRS 105 lease accounting for eligible micro-entities was not changed in the same way. Contract hire therefore does not universally keep a car off the balance sheet. Ask your accountant to apply the right framework; HMRC summarises the accounting standards.

Build the quotation around the way you will use it

Tell IVF your annual mileage, regular passengers, essential equipment, charging access where relevant and preferred timing. Ask for the precise model year, derivative, options and registration status to be written into the quotation. The catalogue is a starting point; the offered vehicle and funder terms need confirmation.

Business Contract Hire is taken by the business; Personal Contract Hire is taken by the private individual. Both are subject to status and individual funder criteria. Compare the initial rental, term, mileage, maintenance and applicable fees on the same basis. An initial rental is part of the hire cost, not refundable security or ownership equity.

A manufacturer warranty starts under the supplied car’s warranty terms, normally from first registration. Its time and mileage limits may finish before your lease does. It is separate from optional servicing and tyre cover. Confirm maintenance inclusions, insurance responsibilities, tax provisions and early-termination terms before signing.

At the end of contract hire, return the vehicle; there is no contractual purchase option. Excess mileage, damage beyond the funder’s fair wear and tear standard, missing equipment or other contractual charges may still be payable. Check the return process before choosing your agreement.

Volkswagen Touran leasing questions

Is the Volkswagen Touran still available to order in the UK?

Volkswagen UK’s current page says it is no longer available to order. IVF’s four catalogue entries do not establish supply. Ask for confirmation of a specific vehicle before planning a lease, and compare Multivan or Tayron if the Touran requirement cannot be fulfilled.

Can I enquire about a Touran business or personal lease?

Yes, as a specific-vehicle availability check subject to status and funder criteria. The enquiry should establish a car before comparing terms. Include your seating, annual mileage and parking requirements and name acceptable alternatives so the process can continue if Touran supply is not confirmed.

Which Touran derivatives does IVF list?

The capture shows four petrol 1.5 TSI EVO descriptions: Match, Match DSG, SEL DSG and R-Line DSG. That is not a statement that all four can be supplied. Confirm the full derivative, model year, registration and equipment on the car being proposed.

Is there a plug-in or electric Touran in this table?

No such version was established in the captured IVF table; all four entries are petrol. Do not use electric or plug-in company-car bands for those cars. If changing powertrain is part of the brief, assess a separate model with its own certified specifications.

How big is the Touran?

Volkswagen’s UK reference dimensions are 4,527 mm long, 1,829 mm wide excluding mirrors and 1,674 mm high. Confirm the actual vehicle and equipment. Allow extra width for mirrors and door opening and check the tailgate space in your normal parking arrangement.

Will the Touran carry seven people and their luggage?

That needs a practical check of the actual vehicle and passenger group. Set all required seats in their travelling positions and try the bags. A load volume with seats folded does not show what remains for luggage when the additional row is occupied.

Can I assume child seats will fit across the second row?

No. Check the exact child seats, approved vehicle positions, installation instructions and access to the third row. A photograph or a general seven-seat description is insufficient. Fit and restraint requirements should be resolved before selecting a car for a household with several child seats.

Should I choose Match, SEL or R-Line?

Compare the confirmed equipment and passenger needs rather than relying on grade hierarchy. Seats, climate control, visibility, parking aids and transmission can affect daily use more than exterior styling. Ask for a written specification because a no-longer-orderable model cannot be assumed configurable to your preference.

Is Multivan a direct Touran replacement?

It is a useful passenger-focused alternative, but its size and seating system create a different decision. Assess parking, luggage and the specific seat arrangement afresh. Tayron is the SUV comparison; confirm its powertrain and seat count rather than treating every version as equivalent.

What happens if no suitable Touran can be confirmed?

Keep the passenger brief and compare current alternatives through IVF. Identify the priority that matters most: compact parking dimensions, an extra row or flexible luggage use. That makes a proposed alternative meaningful and avoids building a lease decision around an unverified catalogue entry.
