Intelligent Vehicle Finance helps you compare Abarth 600e leasing as a performance-focused electric five-door. Abarth UK now lists Turismo and Competizione, replacing the earlier base model and Scorpionissima. Match your chosen version to the quotation, then assess ride, seating, charging and insurance for business or personal use.
The 600e is for a driver who wants a performance-oriented electric car but still needs five-door access. It should be judged as an Abarth with its own chassis, equipment and driving priorities, not as a generic small electric SUV with a different badge. For a company-car user, it also needs to satisfy the employer’s policy and everyday passenger requirements.
The trade-off deserves a proper road test. A more focused setup and sporting seats may suit one driver and be less comfortable for another on broken local roads. If a calm ride, frequent rear access or the simplest possible family routine takes priority, compare the Jeep Avenger and MG4 alongside it. The Abarth should earn the choice through the experience you want, not only through an electric-car tax calculation.

Abarth 600e and two alternatives: different reasons to choose
| Model | Main reason to consider it | Decision to make |
|---|---|---|
| Abarth 600e | Performance-focused electric five-door | Choose the current trim and test ride/seating |
| Jeep Avenger | Related-platform compact crossover | Compare the exact powertrain and everyday emphasis |
| MG4 | Separate electric hatchback alternative | Assess body layout and derivative-specific equipment |
Abarth’s UK announcement dated 30 January 2026 states that Turismo and Competizione replace the earlier Abarth 600e and limited launch Scorpionissima. The UK product page now presents those two current trims. This is an important distinction because our IVF capture on 28 September contains four records: Turismo, Competizione, an unqualified 175kW entry and Scorpionissima. The older records require individual supply and model-year checks.
Ask for the full name on the written quotation, together with the model year and equipment list. Do not assume that a Competizione has the same colour, interior or option content as a launch Scorpionissima simply because both occupy a similar performance position. Equally, an older catalogue label should not be silently relabelled as Turismo. If a particular older specification matters to you, make that a precise enquiry.
Abarth UK gives Turismo and Competizione different power outputs. Those figures help identify the versions, but they do not replace a comparison of seating, ride, tyres, insurance and the controls you use every day. Consider the road conditions and traffic on your normal commute. The most powerful option is not automatically the one whose character you will prefer throughout a multi-year agreement.
Arrange a demonstration that resembles ordinary use, including a rougher urban section, a faster road and parking at the end. Notice how the seats support you, whether the steering position is natural and how easy it is to judge the car’s edges. Try getting in and out several times. A sporting seat that feels exciting briefly still needs to work during a long working day.
If rear passengers are part of the brief, bring them along and set the front seats correctly first. Check the door opening, headroom and room for feet rather than assuming five doors settle the family question. For child seats, use the actual seat and follow its installation instructions. If a passenger has mobility constraints, assess the entry movement before making trim or colour the deciding factor.
The 600e needs a charging plan that works as reliably as its daily parking. If you can install home charging, check the location, cable route and supply before assuming the job is straightforward. If workplace charging is the main plan, confirm access outside regular hours and how often the bays are occupied. For a company vehicle, settle payment and account arrangements with the employer.
Range and charging claims need the exact current UK derivative and test conditions. The shared battery label is not a promise that every version, wheel choice or journey achieves the same distance. This page avoids a single driving-range claim for the mixed current and launch-edition catalogue. Ask for the current UK technical data for the offered Turismo or Competizione before arranging a demanding travel schedule.
The Jeep Avenger is a useful related-platform comparison for drivers who want to test a different emphasis in a compact crossover. Shared group architecture does not imply identical motors, chassis tuning or equipment. Choose the exact Avenger powertrain before comparing it with the electric Abarth. A test of both should focus on ride, seating, controls and how each handles the same everyday tasks.
MG4 provides a separate electric hatchback alternative for someone who is open to another body style. Compare its actual derivative and equipment rather than treating the entire range as one sports-car substitute. The purpose of these alternatives is to clarify what you value: the Abarth’s particular driving character, a crossover layout, or an electric car that satisfies the broader household brief.
Before an order, obtain an insurance quotation for the specific trim and all intended drivers. Discuss tyre replacement, approved repairs and any funder conditions relevant to vehicle use or accessories. A road-car lease should not be assumed to cover competition or circuit activities because the manufacturer’s marketing mentions motorsport development. Read the agreement and insurance wording for the use you actually intend.
Warranty, servicing and maintenance remain separate. Abarth’s UK warranty information describes new-car and traction-battery cover, but the supplied vehicle’s certificate and start date control its terms. Ask which service work and wear items a maintenance package includes. The end-of-contract assessment will concern condition and missing equipment as well as mileage, so retain the accessories and documents supplied with the car.
Abarth 600e uses the electric company-car path when provided under normal company-car rules. Turismo and Competizione can have different P11D values despite sharing the same percentage. Check the exact car, options and registration before calculating the personal benefit or any road-tax supplement.
For an employee or director with private use, the taxable benefit normally starts with the car’s P11D value multiplied by the applicable BiK percentage. Personal tax then depends on the individual’s income tax rate and any relevant adjustments. The percentage is not the tax rate applied to the lease rental. A sole trader’s own business car use follows different rules.
The agreement can cross several tax years. Compare the whole path, not just the percentage in the year the car arrives.
Company-car BiK benchmarks, 2026/27 to 2029/30
| Tax specification | 2026/27 | 2027/28 | 2028/29 | 2029/30 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Zero-emission electric car | 4% | 5% | 7% | 9% |
Use our company-car BiK guide alongside HMRC’s 2026/27 and 2027/28 tables and the published 2028/29 and 2029/30 changes. Tax information checked 28 September 2026 against the C1 ledger and its primary sources. Tax treatment depends on individual circumstances and may change; consult your accountant.
Vehicle Excise Duty (VED). For 2026/27, the standard annual VED payment after the first year is £200 before any supplement. First-year VED depends on CO2 and registration rules; zero-emission cars currently have a £10 first-year rate. These cash rates apply to 2026/27 only; later annual VED rates are not confirmed here. Ask how the funder treats tax increases during your agreement.
Expensive Car Supplement. The Expensive Car Supplement is currently £440 a year for five years from the second licence. The list-price threshold is more than £40,000 for petrol, diesel and hybrid cars, or more than £50,000 for qualifying zero-emission cars registered from 1 April 2025. Use the published list price before discounts, including relevant options, and check the registration date. Plug-in hybrids do not receive the electric-car threshold. GOV.UK explains VED and the supplement.
Planned eVED. The government plans Electric Vehicle Excise Duty (eVED) from April 2028, alongside VED: 3p per mile for electric cars and 1.5p per mile for plug-in hybrids. This is proposed for April 2028, subject to legislation and implementation; it is not a charge currently in force. The stated rates are planned starting rates, with CPI uprating proposed from 2029/30 and later cash rates not confirmed. An agreement spanning introduction needs the funder’s written treatment of the charge and later changes. Check the government’s consultation response and final implementation guidance before committing.
Talk through the car and the agreement
VAT-registered businesses can normally reclaim 50% of the VAT on qualifying car rentals where private use is available, depending on circumstances and the normal VAT rules. Full rental-VAT recovery requires exclusive business use with no private availability. Maintenance can fall outside the rental block when it is genuinely optional, separately described in the contract and separately quantified on the invoice; recovery remains subject to normal VAT rules. Read HMRC’s motoring VAT guidance.
Businesses using the VAT Flat Rate Scheme do not normally recover input VAT on recurring car hire. The separate capital-goods exception does not turn hire invoices into a vehicle purchase. Check HMRC’s Flat Rate Scheme guidance.
A zero-emission car is not subject to the CO2-based lease-rental restriction. Check HMRC’s car-hire deduction rules.
For accounting periods beginning on or after 1 January 2026, revised FRS 102 generally requires a right-of-use asset and lease liability for lessees, including small companies using Section 1A. FRS 105 lease accounting for eligible micro-entities was not changed in the same way. Contract hire therefore does not universally keep a car off the balance sheet. Ask your accountant to apply the right framework; HMRC summarises the accounting standards.
Tell IVF your annual mileage, regular passengers, essential equipment, charging access where relevant and preferred timing. Ask for the precise model year, derivative, options and registration status to be written into the quotation. The catalogue is a starting point; the offered vehicle and funder terms need confirmation.
Business Contract Hire is taken by the business; Personal Contract Hire is taken by the private individual. Both are subject to status and individual funder criteria. Compare the initial rental, term, mileage, maintenance and applicable fees on the same basis. An initial rental is part of the hire cost, not refundable security or ownership equity.
A manufacturer warranty starts under the supplied car’s warranty terms, normally from first registration. Its time and mileage limits may finish before your lease does. It is separate from optional servicing and tyre cover. Confirm maintenance inclusions, insurance responsibilities, tax provisions and early-termination terms before signing.
At the end of contract hire, return the vehicle; there is no contractual purchase option. Excess mileage, damage beyond the funder’s fair wear and tear standard, missing equipment or other contractual charges may still be payable. Check the return process before choosing your agreement.

Ready to refine your shortlist?
Yes. The UK 600e is a battery-electric five-door performance model. It is separate from other Fiat or Abarth powertrains. Establish a charging routine and check passenger requirements before comparing the available Turismo and Competizione lease quotations.
Abarth’s UK announcement of 30 January 2026 introduced Turismo and Competizione, replacing the earlier base version and launch Scorpionissima. The current UK product page presents those trims. Older IVF catalogue entries need a specific vehicle and availability check rather than automatic relabelling.
Abarth UK states 240HP for Turismo and 280HP for Competizione. Compare the exact equipment and driving character alongside those version-specific outputs. Test seat comfort and ride on familiar roads and obtain insurance terms for the precise car before choosing.
The IVF catalogue retains a Scorpionissima entry, but Abarth’s current UK range has moved to Turismo and Competizione. Ask IVF whether a specific vehicle can be sourced and confirm its model year, registration and equipment. The listing alone does not establish supply.
They have related Stellantis compact-car architecture, but the Abarth has its own performance development and specification. Use Avenger as a different practical crossover comparison, with its exact powertrain identified. Do not assume that a common platform gives identical motors, equipment or driving behaviour.
Its five doors help access, but test the actual passengers, child seats and luggage. Check rear space with the driver’s seat correctly positioned and try the loading opening. Sporting seats and ride preferences are individual, so include the household in a representative demonstration.
Ask for current UK figures for the exact trim, wheels and supplied vehicle, then plan for your weather, speed and load. No single range is assigned here across the current and launch-edition catalogue. Charging access and a backup stop matter alongside the laboratory figure.
A qualifying zero-emission company car follows the electric BiK percentages, using its actual P11D value and the driver’s tax circumstances. Review every tax year of the term. Confirm company policy and keep the employer’s rental and running costs separate from the personal benefit.
Abarth’s UK warranty page states three years of new-car cover and separate traction-battery cover, subject to the applicable policy. Obtain the supplied car’s warranty certificate, mileage conditions and start date. Optional maintenance and cover for wear items should be confirmed separately.
The chosen trim, equipment, annual mileage, term, initial rental and maintenance selection affect the comparison, alongside funder terms. The live grid contains rental figures; obtain a written proposal with fees and return conditions. A retained launch-edition listing needs its own availability check.
