Your Audi Q9 leasing decision

Intelligent Vehicle Finance helps you prepare an Audi Q9 lease enquiry. Audi UK now presents the Q9 with configuration and pre-order links, while IVF lists diesel Edition 1 and Vorsprung descriptions. UK presentation does not confirm IVF supply or timing. Match seating, equipment and agreement terms before asking for a lease price.

Audi Q9 leasing and lease-price enquiries: establish the brief first

The Q9 is for the driver whose SUV decision starts with passenger accommodation and the way the cabin will be used. An owner carrying family and colleagues may need a different seating layout from someone prioritising rear-seat comfort for regular business travel. It is worth considering only if those requirements justify the size and complexity. If you simply want an Audi SUV for two occupants, the Q7 and Q8 deserve a close comparison before you move to the flagship.

Audi UK has moved beyond a general future-model announcement: its Q9 page now has UK specification information, configuration and pre-order links. That is useful evidence of the model’s UK presentation, not proof that IVF can supply a chosen derivative to your timetable. Begin with a requirements conversation and ask for a written vehicle and funder proposal. Do not end a current agreement on the assumption that a newly visible route establishes a replacement date.

Audi Q9 leasing: key facts

  • Audi’s UK Q9 page describes a 3.0-litre V6 TDI mild-hybrid powertrain; it is not a battery-electric Q9.
  • The UK reference offers seven seats as standard, or six with the Lounge Pack. Verify the exact seating package before quotation.
  • Audi lists up to 299 PS for the UK Q9 range reference, subject to the chosen derivative; no output is inferred for an unconfirmed vehicle.
  • IVF’s September table contains 3.0 TDI Quattro Edition 1 and Vorsprung Tiptronic descriptions. Catalogue presence is not a supply commitment.
  • The UK page has pre-order and test-drive pre-registration routes, checked 24 September 2026. No IVF delivery date is established.
  • GOV.UK: the maximum company-car BiK band is 37% in 2026/27 and 39% in 2029/30; the exact car can fall in a lower band.

Seven seats or a six-seat lounge is a working choice

Audi describes a standard seven-seat arrangement and a Lounge Pack with six seats, including separate second-row executive chairs. Decide how often you actually need each seating position. A six-seat configuration may suit a rear-passenger brief, but removing a seat is a material change for family or shared business use. Check child-seat arrangements, third-row access and whether passengers can enter easily in your normal parking locations.

Carry out the luggage check with the intended seats occupied. A maximum seats-down boot figure does not answer whether everyone’s bags fit on an airport trip. Think about where coats, charging leads for devices and small business cases will go as well as large suitcases. If the third row will be used regularly, trial the access and comfort with the people who will sit there rather than assessing the cabin from the driver’s seat alone.

The Q9 can be an unsuitable choice when your day is dominated by tight parking and short urban movements. Assistance equipment helps you place a car; it does not make door openings or underground bays larger. Measure the locations you use and request the exact dimensions and turning requirements for the offered specification. A smaller model that accommodates your passengers comfortably can be a better working tool than extra space that is difficult to use.

Edition 1 and Vorsprung need a precise equipment comparison

IVF currently lists 3.0 TDI Quattro Edition 1 5dr Tiptronic and 3.0 TDI Quattro Vorsprung 5dr Tiptronic. The UK manufacturer page describes a V6 diesel mild-hybrid, so an electric-company-car assumption would be wrong. Keep the transmission, powertrain and trim together when comparing proposals. If a different model year or engine is suggested, request its own UK documentation rather than transferring the present page’s specifications.

Choose Vorsprung because of equipment you will use, once it has been confirmed, rather than treating the name as a blanket promise. Audi’s UK page distinguishes trim-specific lighting and door features. For frequent passengers, seat operation and climate controls may matter more than exterior detailing. Ask for an option-by-option comparison that includes the chosen seat layout and any pack dependencies, because an illustration may show a configuration different from the car being quoted.

Build the Q9 business case around use and certainty

A lease-price question cannot be answered responsibly without the vehicle, agreement type, mileage and term. The initial rental, maintenance choice and funder’s treatment of tax also change the comparison. For a flagship diesel SUV, the company-car benefit and running costs remain material even if the vehicle fits the role. Separate what the business pays from the driver’s personal tax rather than treating the monthly rental as the entire decision.

For regular long-distance journeys, consider the passengers’ routine as carefully as the driver’s. Stops, luggage and access can shape the specification. If towing is a genuine requirement, obtain the supplied car’s approved limits and the towing equipment on the order; do not treat a range maximum as permission for a particular trailer. An ambitious manufacturer capability figure is less useful than a verified match to the load and driving licence involved.

Keep a fallback specification with a realistic decision deadline. A new-model enquiry can change as the UK range and supply picture develop. Decide which requirements are essential and whether a Q7 or Q8 could meet them if the Q9 proposal remains uncertain. IVF can then compare a defined set of choices through its funder panel rather than repeatedly restarting the search around different equipment assumptions.

Audi Q9 company-car tax across the lease

The listed Q9 is a diesel mild-hybrid, not an EV. A company director should check its certified emissions and P11D before comparing personal tax with another Audi. The maximum-band path below is a benchmark; the registration and emissions documents determine the actual treatment.

For an employee or director with private use, the taxable benefit normally starts with the car’s P11D value multiplied by the applicable BiK percentage. Personal tax then depends on the individual’s income tax rate and any relevant adjustments. The percentage is not the tax rate applied to the lease rental. A sole trader’s own business car use follows different rules.

The agreement can cross several tax years. Compare the whole path, not just the percentage in the year the car arrives.

Tax specification2026/272027/282028/292029/30
High-CO2 petrol or qualifying diesel at the maximum band37%37%38%39%

These are conditional tax bands, not assigned rates for every Audi Q9. Confirm the supplied car’s P11D, certified CO2, fuel type and registration date. Diesel supplements can apply where the required emissions certification is absent, subject to the annual maximum.

Use our company-car BiK guide alongside HMRC’s 2026/27 and 2027/28 tables and the published 2028/29 and 2029/30 changes. Tax information checked 24 September 2026 against the C1 ledger and its primary sources. Tax treatment depends on individual circumstances and may change; consult your accountant.

Road tax and costs across the term

Vehicle Excise Duty (VED). The Q9’s diesel first-year VED is determined by its certified emissions and registration rules. For 2026/27, the standard annual payment after the first year is £200 before any supplement. Ask how the funder accounts for the initial charge and later changes. Do not extrapolate that annual figure to every year of a new-model agreement.

Expensive Car Supplement. Check the Q9’s published list price with relevant options against the more-than-£40,000 threshold. Above it, the 2026/27 Expensive Car Supplement is £440 annually for five years from the second licence. A negotiated vehicle discount does not change this test. The government’s road-tax table explains the registration scope.

Planned eVED. The listed TDI mild-hybrid is outside the electric and plug-in hybrid categories in planned eVED. The policy is intended from April 2028, subject to legislation and implementation, at starting rates of 3p per mile for EVs and 1.5p for PHEVs alongside VED, with CPI uprating from 2029/30. If the proposed Q9 powertrain changes, revisit applicability using the official response.

VAT and the business accounts

VAT-registered businesses can normally reclaim 50% of the VAT on qualifying car rentals where private use is available, depending on circumstances and the normal VAT rules. Full rental-VAT recovery requires exclusive business use with no private availability. Maintenance can fall outside the rental block when it is genuinely optional, separately described in the contract and separately quantified on the invoice; recovery remains subject to normal VAT rules. Read HMRC’s motoring VAT guidance.

The hire-cost rules normally disallow 15% of otherwise deductible rentals for cars above 50 g/km, subject to their scope and exceptions. A company-car BiK easement does not establish relief from this restriction. Check HMRC’s car-hire deduction rules.

For accounting periods beginning on or after 1 January 2026, revised FRS 102 generally requires a right-of-use asset and lease liability for lessees, including small companies using Section 1A. FRS 105 lease accounting for eligible micro-entities was not changed in the same way. Contract hire therefore does not universally keep a car off the balance sheet. Ask your accountant to apply the right framework; HMRC summarises the accounting standards.

Flat Rate Scheme users generally cannot reclaim VAT on recurring car-hire payments. Ask your accountant which VAT regime applies before using the recovery examples above.

Build the quotation around the way you will use it

Tell IVF your annual mileage, regular passengers, essential equipment, charging access where relevant and preferred timing. Ask for the precise model year, derivative, options and registration status to be written into the quotation. The catalogue is a starting point; the offered vehicle and funder terms need confirmation.

Business Contract Hire is taken by the business; Personal Contract Hire is taken by the private individual. Both are subject to status and individual funder criteria. Compare the initial rental, term, mileage, maintenance and applicable fees on the same basis. An initial rental is part of the hire cost, not refundable security or ownership equity.

A manufacturer warranty starts under the supplied car’s warranty terms, normally from first registration. Its time and mileage limits may finish before your lease does. It is separate from optional servicing and tyre cover. Confirm maintenance inclusions, insurance responsibilities, tax provisions and early-termination terms before signing.

At the end of contract hire, return the vehicle; there is no contractual purchase option. Excess mileage, damage beyond the funder’s fair wear and tear standard, missing equipment or other contractual charges may still be payable. Check the return process before choosing your agreement.

Audi Q9 leasing questions

Is the Audi Q9 on the UK website now?

Yes. Audi UK presents the Q9 with UK specification information, a configurator and pre-order links, checked on 24 September 2026. That does not establish IVF stock, a confirmed order allocation or a delivery date for an individual car.

Can IVF give me an Audi Q9 lease price?

A useful quotation needs the precise Q9 specification, agreement type, annual mileage, term, initial rental and maintenance choice. IVF must confirm the proposed vehicle and funder terms. This guide does not publish an indicative monthly figure or imply a car is secured.

Which Q9 derivatives are in the IVF table?

The captured table names 3.0 TDI Quattro Edition 1 and Vorsprung, both described with Tiptronic transmission. Treat these as the starting identifiers for a quotation and check the complete equipment, registration and supply details before committing.

Is the Audi Q9 electric?

The current UK reference and captured IVF entries use a diesel TDI mild-hybrid powertrain. That is not a zero-emission electric car. Do not use electric BiK percentages or assume it can be plugged in because the description includes hybrid technology.

Does every Q9 have seven seats?

Audi’s UK page describes seven seats as standard and a six-seat Lounge Pack alternative. Check the selected package and the actual vehicle. The best layout depends on regular occupants, rear-seat priorities and how much luggage must travel with everyone aboard.

How should I compare Q9 and Q7 leasing?

Start with the seating arrangement and cabin space your passengers need, then inspect access, parking and equipment. Keep model years explicit because the Q7 route can include different specifications. Align the contract terms only after the two vehicle briefs are clear.

Why is the Q8 a relevant alternative?

It offers a different SUV body and passenger brief. If your interest is primarily design and front-seat travel rather than additional seating flexibility, it deserves consideration. Check its exact layout and luggage access instead of assuming it performs the Q9’s role.

Can I rely on a launch date for delivery?

No. A manufacturer launch, pre-order facility and IVF catalogue entry are different from a confirmed supply commitment. Ask for written timing tied to the actual vehicle and funder proposal, and retain a contingency if your existing agreement ends soon.

What should a Q9 director’s tax comparison include?

Use the supplied car’s P11D and emissions certification across each year of the agreement. Include VED and any Expensive Car Supplement treatment in the business costs. The diesel mild-hybrid should not be modelled as an electric company car.

What is the most useful first Q9 enquiry?

Tell IVF how many people travel regularly, whether the six-seat Lounge Pack matters, your parking constraints, mileage and current agreement end date. Add essential equipment and acceptable alternatives so the team can check a specific proposal rather than a generic flagship SUV.
