Your Chery Tiggo 4 leasing decision

Intelligent Vehicle Finance helps businesses and private drivers assess Chery Tiggo 4 leasing as a compact five-seat hybrid SUV. The UK range lists Aspire and Summit with a non-plug-in hybrid system. Choose it around everyday access, equipment and refuelling convenience, while checking the supplied car’s specification and company-car tax.

Tiggo 4 business and personal leasing without a plug-in routine

The Tiggo 4 answers a specific question: can a compact hybrid SUV meet your regular passenger and work needs without arranging external charging? It is relevant to a private driver who parks on the street or an SME employee visiting several locations each week. The focus should be the car’s size, ease of use and actual fuel consumption on those journeys.

The UK product is offered as a non-plug-in hybrid in Aspire and Summit grades. Chery uses Super Hybrid branding across different systems, so the name alone is not a reliable guide to whether a particular model plugs in. The Tiggo 4 should not be given the charging routine or electric-range claims of the larger Tiggo 8 Super Hybrid.

If seven seats, regular bulky loads or extended driving on externally supplied electricity are essential, start with a different vehicle. The Tiggo 4 is not made suitable for those tasks by choosing Summit. Establish the required cabin and powertrain first, then use the grade comparison to select equipment that improves the journeys you already make.

Chery Tiggo 4 leasing: key facts

  • The UK Tiggo 4 is a five-seat compact SUV, currently listed as Aspire and Summit.
  • IVF lists both grades as 1.5 Hybrid with DHT; it is the non-plug-in Tiggo 4 hybrid, not the Tiggo 8 plug-in system.
  • Chery UK publishes a 120 g/km CO2 benchmark and 53.2 mpg combined WLTP; confirm the supplied derivative, with actual consumption depending on use.
  • Summit-specific items shown by Chery include heated seats and a 360-degree camera; verify the exact quotation specification.
  • Chery states seven years/100,000 miles of vehicle warranty and eight years/100,000 miles for the high-voltage battery, whichever limit comes first, subject to terms.
  • GOV.UK: the maximum company-car BiK band is 37% in 2026/27 and 39% in 2029/30; the exact car can fall in a lower band.

Aspire or Summit: translate equipment into daily use

IVF’s current route contains two derivative rows, both 1.5 Hybrid DHT: Aspire and Summit. Chery’s UK model page also identifies those grades. This is a short catalogue, but a clear comparison is still useful. Ask IVF to confirm the exact model year and specification, because the row title is a starting description rather than a complete equipment schedule.

Chery identifies heated seats, a 360-degree camera, electric driver-seat adjustment and wireless phone charging as Summit items on its current page. Think about which of those features answers a frequent need. A parking camera may matter if your workplace has awkward bays; seat adjustment may matter if drivers of different heights share the vehicle. Test the feature itself instead of choosing the grade by its name.

Check phone pairing, navigation and physical controls using your own phone. Ask for a demonstration of driver-assistance warnings. Test how the controls suit you; the equipment list cannot establish that either grade will feel right to every driver.

Assess the Tiggo 4 hybrid on your actual roads

Chery publishes a 53.2 mpg combined WLTP figure and a 120 g/km CO2 benchmark for the UK Tiggo 4. The fuel figure is a standardised comparison, not a prediction of a motorway-heavy business schedule. The CO2 figure is relevant to tax only once it is confirmed for the car supplied. Keep those two uses of the data separate.

Try the hybrid in the conditions where you spend time: pulling away in traffic, climbing a familiar hill, merging onto a faster road and manoeuvring into a parking space. Note how the engine and electric assistance respond rather than expecting continuous electric driving. There is no external charge to replenish overnight, and no reason to plan the car around public rapid chargers.

For a shared staff vehicle, agree how fuel is paid for and how mileage is recorded. An employee’s business travel and private availability can lead to different accounting and tax questions. Give the accountant a precise vehicle description and the intended use. The word hybrid alone is not enough to assign a company-car percentage or determine the employer’s treatment of the lease.

Five seats, local support and the limits of warranty

The Tiggo 4 is presented as a five-seat compact SUV. Test it with the occupants and objects that define your week: a colleague behind the driver, a child seat, work bags or a regular shopping load. Check access with the door only partly open, as it would be in a real parking bay. A comfortable showroom seating position does not test that situation.

Identify the service location and how appointments fit your working day. Ask what happens if repair work interrupts travel and how assistance differs from funder maintenance. These practical checks do not require speculation about residual values or brand longevity.

Chery’s stated seven-year/100,000-mile vehicle cover and eight-year/100,000-mile high-voltage-battery cover have conditions and exclusions. Check the warranty booklet for the exact supplied vehicle, especially if annual mileage is high. Service requirements, wear items and roadside assistance are separate details. Record them alongside the lease’s return standard so the long warranty headline does not obscure your own responsibilities.

Chery Tiggo 4 company-car tax across the lease

A non-plug-in Tiggo 4 uses its certified petrol-hybrid CO2 band. Chery’s UK 120 g/km benchmark would place a matching supplied vehicle in the 120-124 g/km band. Confirm the certificate and P11D value before using the figures in a director or employee calculation.

For an employee or director with private use, the taxable benefit normally starts with the car’s P11D value multiplied by the applicable BiK percentage. Personal tax then depends on the individual’s income tax rate and any relevant adjustments. The percentage is not the tax rate applied to the lease rental. A sole trader’s own business car use follows different rules.

The agreement can cross several tax years. Compare the whole path, not just the percentage in the year the car arrives.

These are conditional tax bands, not assigned rates for every Chery Tiggo 4. Confirm the supplied car’s P11D, certified CO2, fuel type and registration date. Diesel supplements can apply where the required emissions certification is absent, subject to the annual maximum.

Use our company-car BiK guide alongside HMRC’s 2026/27 and 2027/28 tables and the published 2028/29 and 2029/30 changes. Tax information checked 28 September 2026 against the C1 ledger and its primary sources. Tax treatment depends on individual circumstances and may change; consult your accountant.

Road tax and costs across the term

Vehicle Excise Duty (VED). For 2026/27, the standard annual VED payment after the first year is £200 before any supplement. First-year VED depends on CO2 and registration rules; zero-emission cars currently have a £10 first-year rate. These cash rates apply to 2026/27 only; later annual VED rates are not confirmed here. Ask how the funder treats tax increases during your agreement.

Expensive Car Supplement. The Expensive Car Supplement is currently £440 a year for five years from the second licence. The list-price threshold is more than £40,000 for petrol, diesel and hybrid cars, or more than £50,000 for qualifying zero-emission cars registered from 1 April 2025. Use the published list price before discounts, including relevant options, and check the registration date. Plug-in hybrids do not receive the electric-car threshold. GOV.UK explains VED and the supplement.

Planned eVED. The government plans Electric Vehicle Excise Duty (eVED) from April 2028, alongside VED: 3p per mile for electric cars and 1.5p per mile for plug-in hybrids. This is proposed for April 2028, subject to legislation and implementation; it is not a charge currently in force. The stated rates are planned starting rates, with CPI uprating proposed from 2029/30 and later cash rates not confirmed. An agreement spanning introduction needs the funder’s written treatment of the charge and later changes. Check the government’s consultation response and final implementation guidance before committing. The non-plug-in Chery Tiggo 4 powertrain discussed here is outside those planned electric and plug-in hybrid categories.

VAT and the business accounts

VAT-registered businesses can normally reclaim 50% of the VAT on qualifying car rentals where private use is available, depending on circumstances and the normal VAT rules. Full rental-VAT recovery requires exclusive business use with no private availability. Maintenance can fall outside the rental block when it is genuinely optional, separately described in the contract and separately quantified on the invoice; recovery remains subject to normal VAT rules. Read HMRC’s motoring VAT guidance.

Businesses using the VAT Flat Rate Scheme do not normally recover input VAT on recurring car hire. The separate capital-goods exception does not turn hire invoices into a vehicle purchase. Check HMRC’s Flat Rate Scheme guidance.

The hire-cost rules normally disallow 15% of otherwise deductible rentals for cars above 50 g/km, subject to their scope and exceptions. A company-car BiK easement does not establish relief from this restriction. Check HMRC’s car-hire deduction rules.

For accounting periods beginning on or after 1 January 2026, revised FRS 102 generally requires a right-of-use asset and lease liability for lessees, including small companies using Section 1A. FRS 105 lease accounting for eligible micro-entities was not changed in the same way. Contract hire therefore does not universally keep a car off the balance sheet. Ask your accountant to apply the right framework; HMRC summarises the accounting standards.

Build the quotation around the way you will use it

Tell IVF your annual mileage, regular passengers, essential equipment, charging access where relevant and preferred timing. Ask for the precise model year, derivative, options and registration status to be written into the quotation. The catalogue is a starting point; the offered vehicle and funder terms need confirmation.

Business Contract Hire is taken by the business; Personal Contract Hire is taken by the private individual. Both are subject to status and individual funder criteria. Compare the initial rental, term, mileage, maintenance and applicable fees on the same basis. An initial rental is part of the hire cost, not refundable security or ownership equity.

A manufacturer warranty starts under the supplied car’s warranty terms, normally from first registration. Its time and mileage limits may finish before your lease does. It is separate from optional servicing and tyre cover. Confirm maintenance inclusions, insurance responsibilities, tax provisions and early-termination terms before signing.

At the end of contract hire, return the vehicle; there is no contractual purchase option. Excess mileage, damage beyond the funder’s fair wear and tear standard, missing equipment or other contractual charges may still be payable. Check the return process before choosing your agreement.

Chery Tiggo 4 leasing questions

Is the UK Tiggo 4 a plug-in hybrid?

The UK Tiggo 4 covered here is a non-plug-in hybrid with a 1.5-litre engine and DHT. It does not need external charging. Chery uses Super Hybrid branding elsewhere too, so do not transfer Tiggo 8 plug-in specifications to this compact model.

Is Tiggo 4 available in the UK now?

Chery UK currently promotes the Tiggo 4 with Aspire and Summit specification, enquiry routes and warranty information. IVF lists both grades. Ask IVF to verify the offered vehicle and timing; the catalogue is not confirmation of a particular allocation.

Which Tiggo 4 derivatives does IVF show?

The captured route has two rows: 1.5 Hybrid Aspire 5dr DHT and 1.5 Hybrid Summit 5dr DHT. Confirm model year and equipment before proceeding. The short list does not establish whether either car is physically available for a particular date.

What does Summit add that I should test?

The current UK page identifies features including heated seats, a 360-degree camera, electric driver-seat adjustment and wireless phone charging for Summit. Have the exact specification confirmed, then test the features that matter to your parking, comfort and shared-driver needs.

Does Tiggo 4 have seven seats?

No. The UK Tiggo 4 is a five-seat compact SUV. If additional passenger seats are essential, compare the larger Tiggo 8 and test its seating arrangement. A higher Tiggo 4 trim does not change the fundamental passenger-capacity decision.

Is the published 53.2 mpg what I will achieve?

It is Chery UK’s combined WLTP comparison figure, not a promised result. Actual fuel use depends on journeys, speed, temperature, load and driving style. Check the matching derivative and assess a route representative of your own use.

What is the Tiggo 4 company-car BiK band?

If the supplied car is certified at the published 120 g/km benchmark, it falls in the 120-124 g/km band: 30% in 2026/27 and 2027/28, then 31% and 32%. Verify certified CO2 and P11D; this is not the electric-car band.

What UK warranty is advertised for Tiggo 4?

Chery states seven years/100,000 miles for the vehicle and eight years/100,000 miles for the high-voltage battery, whichever limit comes first. The applicable warranty terms, maintenance conditions and exclusions remain important. Obtain the booklet for the supplied car.

Would Omoda 7 or Jaecoo 7 be the same choice?

No. Those are separate models with different size, equipment and powertrain choices. Decide whether you want non-plug-in hybrid use, a petrol version or a regularly charged plug-in before comparing the brands. Shared group ownership does not make the cars interchangeable.

What information makes a Tiggo 4 quote useful?

Tell IVF whether Aspire or Summit meets your requirements, the annual mileage, regular occupants and any essential parking or comfort equipment. Ask for a consistent term and maintenance basis, then check tax provisions, insurance responsibilities and the end-of-contract conditions.
