Intelligent Vehicle Finance helps businesses choose a Citroën Dispatch for teams, equipment and regional work. Compare panel and crew layouts before selecting diesel or electric power. The useful specification is the space and payload left with everyone aboard, matched to the exact model year, equipment and lease terms being offered.
Dispatch is worth considering when the work needs a medium van but the balance between people and equipment changes from job to job. A maintenance supervisor may travel alone most days and take colleagues occasionally; an installation team may need all seats daily. Those are different specifications. Count the people who must travel on the busiest normal duty and list the equipment that cannot be left behind.
A panel van maximises the space behind its front seating. A crew body adds occupied places within the vehicle envelope, reducing available cargo room. Test both with the working load rather than choosing the crew version as a general precaution. Extra seating that is rarely used can displace storage on every other journey.
Move down to Berlingo Van if the daily task is one person and compact equipment. Look at Relay where standing height or bulky goods are essential. Dispatch earns its place when its medium body completes the route, carries the team and fits the regular loading locations without unnecessary compromise.
Tell us how many people travel and what must remain behind them. We can compare Dispatch bodies against the complete job.
| Van | Reason to investigate | Detail that decides fit |
|---|---|---|
| Citroën Dispatch | Enterprise, Driver and VTR choices across panel and crew entries. | Actual occupied seats, remaining load area and specification date. |
| Fiat Scudo | Related body with Fiat Professional grades and crew offerings. | Seat arrangement and equipment on the quoted version. |
| Vauxhall Vivaro | Related platform with Vauxhall fleet equipment choices. | Equivalent body, installed weight and workshop support. |
Use the same number of people, tools and collection load for each comparison; maximum panel capacity is not a crew-van allowance.
Citroën’s current linked Dispatch guide is effective from 1 October 2026, three days after this page’s source check. Its MY26.5 figures are forward-dated benchmarks, not confirmation of an immediately supplied vehicle. Ask IVF to reconcile the quoted model year and body with this edition before applying the measurements.
For the named panel bodies, M provides a 2,512mm load floor and 5.3m³ ordinary volume; XL provides 2,862mm and 6.1m³. Maximum load height is 1,397mm, with 1,258mm between the wheel arches. Those numbers help assess a loading plan, but lining, shelves and fittings reduce clear space. Measure the aperture as well as the bay if the equipment is wide or awkward to turn.
The crew references have 2,017mm and 2,365mm floors, with 3.2m³ and 4.0m³ volumes. They must be assessed with the required seats occupied. Do not combine the XL panel volume with crew seating from another row. Keep room for secure access to work equipment and personal bags, rather than relying on unused passenger places as storage.
The guide’s panel-van load-through references extend to 3,674mm for M and 4,026mm for XL when the appropriate arrangement is used. This is useful for compatible long materials, not wide goods needing a full rectangular compartment. Confirm the fitted bulkhead, the seat movement involved and the occupants who can travel at the same time.
In the same forward-dated guide, the electric M 136hp automatic panel van has 1,210kg maximum payload and XL has 1,138kg. Electric crew references differ again. Use only the actual offered derivative’s weight schedule, and include the driver and passengers on the correct basis. The largest published payload does not belong to every Dispatch body or equipment package.
If a crew regularly collects additional materials during a job, model the return journey as well as departure. Fixed racking, external equipment, consumables and bags all form part of the load. Ask the supplier or converter for the finished allowance and axle limits. The person assigning the van should have that information, rather than expecting each driver to infer it from its size.
Citroën UK lists ë-Dispatch alongside diesel. The linked 1 October MY26.5 guide’s electric technical reference uses a 75kWh gross, 69kWh net battery and 100kW motor, with 219 miles combined WLTP. Its derivative tables contain other range values. Use this as a named technical benchmark only, and obtain the certified range for the actual IVF body, trim, model year and equipment.
The guide pairs that technical reference with DC capability up to 100kW and approximately 45 minutes from 5% to 80%. These are forward-dated manufacturer benchmarks requiring vehicle confirmation, not a fixed stop duration on your route. The battery’s temperature and state of charge, charger performance, load and weather affect the working result. Include the time to reach and use a suitable charging point.
For a crew vehicle, charging ownership is part of the specification. Establish who connects the van after the last job and how the next driver knows it is ready. IVF contains electric labels as well as several diesel generations; do not borrow the latest battery or engine data for an older description. Match each proposed powertrain to the normal duty and the occasional longer working day.
IVF’s September Dispatch catalogue contains Enterprise, Driver and VTR labels, panel and crew descriptions, and diesel or electric power. It also retains different engine and battery descriptions. The quotation should name the exact version and its equipment, not rely on a customer recognising which catalogue generation a badge belongs to.
Citroën’s guide distinguishes equipment by grade. Decide what the people using the van actually need: seating access, visibility aids, navigation, load-through provision or a particular gearbox. Ask for those requirements to be confirmed line by line. Appearance-led equipment should be weighed against the load, weight and working environment rather than treated as an operational improvement in itself.
Dispatch shares related medium-van architecture with Fiat Scudo, Peugeot Expert, Vauxhall Vivaro and Toyota Proace. Similar dimensions do not make crew arrangements, equipment or support interchangeable. Compare the actual Citroën version against equivalent bodies from those brands. A support programme belonging to Toyota, for example, is not a warranty promise for Dispatch.
Agree where the vehicle will be serviced and whether that workshop can support its powertrain and installed equipment. A crew van out of service can interrupt several people’s work at once. Discuss the real continuity arrangements, including the ability to move both the team and its tools; access to a small replacement car would not necessarily achieve that.
The October guide describes battery cover of eight years or 100,000 miles with a 70% capacity threshold, subject to terms. Confirm the applicable supplied-vehicle warranty, commencement date and service obligations separately. An optional maintenance agreement should specify what it includes for servicing, tyres and wear items. Converter equipment may require another service schedule.
Record the agreed seating and load arrangement at handover. Keep the equipment list and weight documentation accessible to the business. When duties change, reassess the vehicle before adding passengers or permanent storage: a Dispatch selected for one team’s tools is not automatically suitable for another crew’s load.
A qualifying diesel Dispatch with chargeable private use has a standard £4,170 taxable van benefit for 2026/27. Employer-provided private fuel can create the separate £798 standard fuel benefit. The employee’s tax rate and relevant adjustments determine the personal liability; these published amounts are not lease costs.
The qualifying zero-emission van calculation gives nil van benefit for ë-Dispatch in 2026/27. A diesel van can instead fall within a business-use exemption if its conditions are satisfied. Explain the private-use policy and the actual journeys to the accountant, especially where several employees share the van.
Agreements extending through 2027/28, 2028/29 and 2029/30 require the van position to be checked for each year. Car percentage tables are not a substitute, and this page does not promise that today’s cash values stay unchanged.
GOV.UK van benefit guidance and the private-use exemptions checked 28 September 2026. Treatment depends on circumstances; confirm it with your accountant.
Vehicle Excise Duty (VED). For 2026/27, qualifying TC39 light goods vehicles registered from 1 March 2001, not exceeding 3,500kg revenue weight, have a £360 single annual VED payment. This includes electric vans. Confirm the Dispatch’s category and the contractual treatment of increases. See GOV.UK’s VED table; checked 28 September 2026.
Expensive Car Supplement. Do not apply the car Expensive Car Supplement to a TC39 Dispatch merely because its trim or accessories increase value. Classification and registration details control the applicable rules.
Planned eVED. Vans remain outside the planned April 2028 eVED introduction in the July 2026 government response. Ordinary road tax still needs budgeting and future policy should be reviewed. Read the eVED response.
Dispatch hire VAT depends on the business’s VAT status, actual use and normal recovery conditions. The passenger-car rental block is not an automatic van rule. Use HMRC’s VAT notice with the IVF VAT guide.
A benefit-in-kind conclusion does not settle rental deductions, capital allowances or accounting. Have the accountant assess the complete agreement, including any separately supplied body equipment.
Talk through the vehicle and agreement with IVF. Call 01752 429950 or request a callback with your business requirements.
Tell IVF your annual mileage, crew, loads, towing, fitted equipment, charging access where relevant and preferred timing. Ask for the precise model year, derivative, options and registration status to be written into the quotation. The catalogue is a starting point; the offered vehicle and funder terms need confirmation.
Business Contract Hire is taken by the business; Personal Contract Hire is taken by the private individual. Both are subject to status and individual funder criteria. Compare the initial rental, term, mileage, maintenance and applicable fees on the same basis. An initial rental is part of the hire cost, not refundable security or ownership equity.
A manufacturer warranty starts under the supplied vehicle’s warranty terms, normally from first registration. Its time and mileage limits may finish before your lease does. It is separate from optional servicing and tyre cover. Confirm maintenance inclusions, insurance responsibilities, tax provisions and early-termination terms before signing.
At the end of contract hire, return the vehicle; there is no contractual purchase option. Excess mileage, damage beyond the funder’s fair wear and tear standard, missing equipment or other contractual charges may still be payable. Check the return process before choosing your agreement.
Use Citroen van leasing, van leasing, medium vehicle leasing, VAT on business van leasing, Fiat Scudo leasing, Peugeot Expert leasing, Vauxhall Vivaro leasing, Toyota Proace leasing, Citroën Berlingo Van leasing, Citroën Relay leasing, electric van leasing to narrow your choice or discuss a quotation.

Businesses moving equipment and a working team can consider Dispatch where a compact van is too restrictive. Check the largest normal team and load together before choosing panel or crew format.
No. The extra occupied seating uses space within the body. Use the crew derivative’s own load floor, volume and payload, with all required people aboard; do not combine figures from panel and crew rows.
They are forward-dated benchmarks at the 28 September source check. Ask IVF to confirm the supplied model year and specification. The edition date does not prove immediate supply or that an older catalogue entry matches.
When the extra ordinary floor length improves the actual working layout or access to equipment. Check its external footprint and loading locations too. A longer body is not automatically a higher-payload vehicle.
Only for suitable objects and the specified seat and bulkhead arrangement. It does not create a uniformly larger cargo box. Check the occupants who can travel and the restraint method at the same time.
Yes, at the September 2026 check. Confirm the exact battery, body, fitted charger and certified range on the proposed vehicle. Manufacturer listing and an IVF catalogue row do not establish availability.
Assess the longest loaded working day, reserve for extra jobs, overnight parking and charging responsibility. Ensure the next driver can verify readiness. Use only range and charging data matched to the offered derivative.
They identify equipment routes, but model years and body combinations can differ. List essential features and obtain the actual supplying specification. Do not assume a familiar grade includes every feature shown elsewhere.
They share related medium-van architecture. Compare equivalent occupied seating, loading equipment, warranty terms and dealer support. Their relationship does not prove identical UK specification or service arrangements.
Agree the installation, funder permission where required, finished weight and warranty responsibility. Ensure access and the intended seating remain usable. Keep the final specification with the business’s operating and return records.
