Your Vauxhall Vivaro leasing decision

Intelligent Vehicle Finance helps you compare Vauxhall Vivaro leasing for a single working van or a repeatable fleet specification. Define the body, seats and essential equipment before selecting Prime, Pro or GS. Then check diesel or electric suitability against the route, finished payload, servicing plan and exact vehicle quoted.

Vauxhall Vivaro business leasing with a clear fleet specification

A useful Vivaro fleet starts with a specification that drivers, procurement and the installer can all understand. Record the body, passenger count, cargo layout and essential assistance equipment in one brief. This is particularly valuable when replacing vehicles gradually: familiar badges and trim names can hide differences between model years, so an existing van is not a complete ordering specification.

Vivaro occupies the medium-van role between Combo Cargo and Movano. It can suit service engineers, installation teams and regional delivery work when the equipment fits without moving to a large high-roof vehicle. If the job requires standing room or a bulky conversion, compare Movano first. If most journeys carry little more than a compact tool set, test Combo before taking on a larger vehicle footprint.

Vauxhall Vivaro leasing: key facts

  • Vauxhall’s July 2026 UK guide distinguishes M and XL panel vans, plus separate Doublecab configurations.
  • Panel-van load floors measure 2,512mm for M and 2,862mm for XL, before any optional load-through arrangement.
  • The guide’s electric M Prime reference lists 1,210kg maximum indicative payload, including the driver; installed equipment needs accounting for.
  • Current Vivaro Electric technical data specifies 75kWh gross and 69kWh net battery capacity with a 100kW motor.
  • IVF’s captured catalogue includes Prime, Pro and GS names with diesel, electric and Doublecab entries. Confirm the actual model year.
  • 2026/27 van benefit is nil for qualifying zero-emission commercial vans under the current GOV.UK rule.

Bring your fleet equipment list, driver requirements and typical loaded route. We can use them to narrow the Vivaro specification.

Prime, Pro and GS: specify the feature, not just the trim

The live IVF catalogue contains Prime, Pro and GS descriptions. Vauxhall's UK guide effective 1 July 2026, updated in August, is the current reference used here, but older catalogue entries may differ. List the features that are genuinely necessary: a particular camera or rear-view system, passenger arrangement, load access and charging hardware. Have each item confirmed for the offered derivative.

A higher trim does not prove that every feature on another version is retained in the same form. For example, compare the actual rear-view equipment rather than assuming all camera descriptions mean an identical digital viewing system. Demonstrate the proposed arrangement to the driver if rear visibility is critical. Equipment that looks attractive on a comparison sheet has limited value if it does not solve the operational problem.

For several vans, distinguish the required standard from optional personal preferences. A consistent cab and loading layout can make vehicle changes simpler, but the correct body and payload still take priority. Record any approved exceptions, such as an automatic gearbox for a particular duty or a different body for a specialist team.

Check the body before repeating an existing order

The named UK guide gives M and XL panel-van floors of 2,512mm and 2,862mm, with 1,258mm between the wheel arches, 1,628mm maximum internal width and 1,397mm load height. Ordinary volumes are 5.3m³ and 6.1m³. Match those body codes to the catalogue wording and account for lining and equipment before treating the figures as usable space.

The appropriate FlexCargo arrangement allows extended lengths of 3,674mm or 4,026mm and quoted volumes of 5.8m³ or 6.6m³. It relies on the specified passenger-seat and bulkhead configuration. Check the size of the passage, how the long item is restrained and which seats remain available. An extended length is not a full-width extension of the cargo box.

Doublecab is a separate decision. The guide describes six seats with load floors of 2,017mm M or 2,365mm XL and volumes of 3.2m³ or 4.0m³. If crews rotate, use the largest normal team and equipment load in the calculation. A vehicle that fits an individual engineer's tools may not fit a complete installation crew's working day.

Make finished payload part of the fleet sign-off

For the electric M Prime reference, Vauxhall lists a gross vehicle weight of 3,230kg and a maximum indicative payload of 1,210kg, including the driver. The corresponding XL figure is 1,138kg. These are scoped brochure references, not allowances to apply to every diesel, GS or Doublecab entry. Confirm the exact vehicle and the manufacturer's weight definition.

Build the weight schedule from the fitted van: racking, lining, security equipment, additional occupants and the heaviest normal cargo. Keep axle limits in view as well as the total. Ask the installer for finished weights and retain those with the vehicle records. If loads vary between teams, agree who checks that a reassigned van remains suitable rather than relying on its external size.

Vivaro Electric needs a route and a charging owner

Vauxhall UK currently lists Vivaro Electric, checked 28 September 2026. The July guide's named 75kWh gross, 69kWh net, 100kW reference gives 219 miles combined WLTP in the technical table, with different figures elsewhere in its derivative range. Use the certified value for the actual vehicle quoted. IVF also contains 49kWh descriptions, so the current large-battery benchmark cannot be applied to every electric listing.

The guide specifies DC charging up to 100kW and approximately 45 minutes from 5% to 80% under its stated conditions. Allow for load, temperature, speed, battery condition and charger availability when assessing a shift. The relevant question is whether enough energy can be replaced before the next duty, including a practical reserve for extra work.

For a fleet, assign responsibility for charging rather than assuming drivers will sort it out. Confirm parking rights, electrical capacity, overnight access and what happens when a van changes driver. An 11kW onboard AC charger requires a suitable supply to use that capability. A diesel alternative may fit routes with unpredictable long-distance work, but its engine generation and gearbox still need confirmation: IVF lists older 2.0-litre and newer 2.2-litre descriptions alongside 1.5-litre entries.

Compare related vans through the support they will receive

Vivaro is related to Peugeot Expert and Toyota Proace through the Stellantis medium-van programme and Toyota collaboration. That shared architecture does not establish identical UK equipment or support. Compare the supplying dealer's commercial-vehicle facilities, the warranty that accompanies the specific van and the process for an installed conversion.

Vauxhall's current electric guide describes traction-battery cover of eight years or 100,000 miles with a 70% capacity threshold, subject to terms. Vehicle warranty, roadside assistance and optional maintenance cover are different arrangements. Ask which applies during the intended lease mileage and who books or authorises work. A workshop visit can affect several jobs even when the repair itself falls within warranty.

Before handover, record the ordered equipment, installed accessories, charging cables where applicable and service requirements. Give drivers a consistent defect-reporting route. For a repeat order, check the new specification against this record rather than copying an old trim name. This preserves the intended operating standard as the manufacturer's range changes.

Vivaro tax: commercial use and private use

The 2026/27 standard benefit value for chargeable private use of a qualifying non-zero-emission van is £4,170. A separate £798 fuel benefit may apply when the employer provides private fuel. These are taxable benefit values, not a fixed bill for every employee.

Qualifying zero-emission Vivaro vans use 0% of £4,170, producing nil van benefit under the current rule. Other vans may qualify for the business-use exemption where its conditions are met, including the rules on commuting and insignificant private use. Keep the fleet use policy and actual practice aligned.

Later tax years need later annual checks. Do not carry these values automatically through 2027/28, 2028/29 and 2029/30 or substitute passenger-car BiK bands. GOV.UK benefit figures and exemption conditions verified 28 September 2026; ask your accountant about the individual arrangement.

Road tax and costs across the term

Vehicle Excise Duty (VED). The 2026/27 rate for qualifying TC39 light goods vehicles is £360 as a single annual payment. The category covers vehicles registered from 1 March 2001 with revenue weight up to 3,500kg, including electric vans. Verify the registered class and contractual responsibility for changes. GOV.UK vehicle tax table checked 28 September 2026.

Expensive Car Supplement. A TC39 Vivaro does not acquire the car Expensive Car Supplement because of a higher trim or option price. Use the vehicle’s registered category.

Planned eVED. The published July 2026 eVED response excludes vans from the proposed April 2028 introduction. Monitor subsequent policy rather than building a car mileage charge into the present van comparison. Read the government response.

VAT and the business accounts

A VAT-registered business should assess van hire VAT under its normal recovery rules and actual use. Do not automatically import the passenger-car rental restriction. HMRC’s VAT motoring notice and the IVF business leasing VAT guide explain the framework.

Accounting, deductions and capital allowances require separate assessment of the contract and equipment by your accountant. A commercial vehicle label or benefit treatment does not by itself decide the answer.

Discuss the vehicle and agreement together. Call 01752 429950 or request a callback with your business requirements.

Build the quotation around the way you will use it

Tell IVF your annual mileage, crew, loads, towing, fitted equipment, charging access where relevant and preferred timing. Ask for the precise model year, derivative, options and registration status to be written into the quotation. The catalogue is a starting point; the offered vehicle and funder terms need confirmation.

Business Contract Hire is taken by the business; Personal Contract Hire is taken by the private individual. Both are subject to status and individual funder criteria. Compare the initial rental, term, mileage, maintenance and applicable fees on the same basis. An initial rental is part of the hire cost, not refundable security or ownership equity.

A manufacturer warranty starts under the supplied vehicle’s warranty terms, normally from first registration. Its time and mileage limits may finish before your lease does. It is separate from optional servicing and tyre cover. Confirm maintenance inclusions, insurance responsibilities, tax provisions and early-termination terms before signing.

At the end of contract hire, return the vehicle; there is no contractual purchase option. Excess mileage, damage beyond the funder’s fair wear and tear standard, missing equipment or other contractual charges may still be payable. Check the return process before choosing your agreement.

Vauxhall Vivaro leasing questions

Where does Vivaro sit in the Vauxhall van range?

Vivaro is the medium option between compact Combo Cargo and larger Movano. Use the working load and access requirement to decide the size before comparing engines or trim.

Should I order Vivaro GS for every driver?

Only if its actual specification suits the job. Compare required equipment feature by feature against Prime and Pro, using the offered model year. A trim hierarchy alone does not settle the fleet brief.

Are all Vivaro rear-view systems the same?

No assumption should be made from a camera label. Ask for the exact rear-view and parking equipment, how it operates and what view it provides on the quoted version.

How much longer is the XL load floor?

The July 2026 UK panel-van guide lists 2,862mm for XL and 2,512mm for M. Check the body mapping and installed equipment before using those brochure dimensions.

Can a Vivaro Doublecab replace a panel van without changing capacity?

No. The crew seating occupies part of the body and additional passengers use payload. Compare the separate Doublecab floor, volume and finished weight with the full team aboard.

Does Vivaro Electric suit an employee-home fleet?

It can, where parking permission, charging supply and overnight access are dependable. Establish responsibility for installation, electricity records and vehicle reassignment before relying on home charging.

Do all electric listings have the current 75kWh battery?

No. IVF’s catalogue also contains other battery descriptions. Confirm model year, battery, certified range and charger on the actual vehicle rather than applying one brochure benchmark throughout.

Is Vivaro related to Expert and Proace?

Yes. The medium vans share related architecture, but UK grades, included equipment, warranty and dealer arrangements still differ. Compare those practical details against the same fleet requirement.

Does battery warranty include routine maintenance?

No. Traction-battery cover has its own time, mileage, capacity and other conditions. Scheduled servicing, tyres, general vehicle warranty and roadside support need separate confirmation.

What should I give IVF for several Vivaros?

Provide the number of vehicles, duty patterns, seats, finished equipment, maximum loads and annual mileages. Identify which features must be consistent and which jobs require exceptions, including any charging constraints.
