Your Jaecoo 8 leasing decision

Intelligent Vehicle Finance can discuss Jaecoo 8 plug-in hybrid leasing for business and private drivers needing three-row passenger flexibility. Jaecoo has begun UK customer deliveries, while IVF currently lists the six-seat Executive. Check whether that layout, its charging routine and the exact vehicle specification suit your passengers before requesting terms.

Jaecoo 8 business and personal leasing: count the seats you need

The Jaecoo 8 starts with a more specific question than simply whether you want a large SUV. Do you need six seats arranged with a different second-row layout, or seven places for a larger group? The Executive shown by IVF is the six-seat version. It may suit a family or business user who values that arrangement, but it is not the answer when seven occupied seats are a firm requirement.

The plug-in hybrid drivetrain is another deliberate choice. It can be considered when you can charge regularly but want an engine for the journeys that extend beyond the electric portion. If charging would rarely happen, evaluate that reality before committing. The vehicle should be assessed around actual passenger use and energy arrangements, rather than a combined-distance headline or an assumption that every three-row SUV offers the same space.

What the UK launch and IVF listing establish

Jaecoo's UK announcement dated 28 May 2026 confirms that first customer deliveries had begun. It distinguishes Luxury with a 5+2 seating arrangement from Executive with 4+2. Both belong to the UK plug-in hybrid SHS-P range. IVF's own captured page contains one Executive entry, described as a 1.5T SHS-P automatic six-seater. A manufacturer range containing another layout does not prove that IVF currently offers that version through this route.

Ask for the exact model year, seating configuration and UK specification in the written quote. The single ratebook entry does not establish a specific vehicle's location or delivery date. If you require Luxury's additional seating place, tell IVF at the outset and ask whether a suitable vehicle can be sourced. Do not accept an Executive quotation under the assumption that the missing seat is an accessory that can be added later.

Test third-row access with the second row occupied

Use a demonstration to reproduce your normal passenger arrangement. Set the front seats for their occupants, position the second row as it would be used and then check access to the rear. If children travel in child seats, follow both the vehicle handbook and the seat manufacturer's instructions. A three-row label does not establish that the specific restraint layout you want is approved or that access remains convenient with seats installed.

Ask intended third-row passengers to test access and comfort with the other seats correctly positioned. A layout suitable for occasional short trips may not suit regular employee transport. Include bags in that assessment.

Luggage and exterior size when everyone is aboard

Load your usual cases or pushchair with every required seat raised. Folded-third-row photographs do not answer the passenger-and-luggage question. Secure the load and practise any layout changes you expect to make.

Measure the parking footprint, door opening and tailgate clearance. Cameras support manoeuvring but do not create more space or replace observation. A larger passenger vehicle must remain practical at the places your passengers visit.

Plug-in hybrid use depends on plugging in

Establish who plugs the car in and when, especially for shared workplace use. A plug-in hybrid without a charging routine may use more fuel than the buyer originally expected. Assess that real operating pattern before choosing it.

The manufacturer's electric-distance and charging claims need matching to the exact UK Executive specification before they are applied to the IVF entry. This page does not promise a numerical electric range or charging duration for it. Ask for the certified data and charging conditions together. Assess your ordinary routes, winter use and passenger load, then compare energy costs using your own electricity and fuel assumptions rather than a best-case demonstration figure.

Company-car tax needs the certified range as well as CO2

IVF's captured Executive entry shows a 47g/km CO2 label. For the current low-CO2 plug-in company-car bands, the certified electric range is also material. The CO2 label alone therefore cannot establish the correct percentage. Ask for the supplied vehicle's official emissions and electric-range documentation and its registration date before using a tax calculation in a business decision.

Compare later tax years as well as the first. Have an accountant check any certification easement against the actual vehicle; a company-car benefit rule does not settle the separate lease-rental deduction treatment.

Jaecoo 7 and Omoda alternatives serve different passengers

The Jaecoo 7 is the natural sibling comparison if you do not regularly need the 8's third row or particular seating arrangement. Compare the actual current version and powertrain rather than treating the smaller model as a shortened 8. For some drivers, the simpler passenger requirement will make the 7 the more relevant discussion; for others, it will not satisfy the essential seat count.

Omoda 9 and Omoda 7 provide related-brand SUV comparisons with their own specifications. Confirm their seats and equipment independently. Keep the six-seat requirement prominent so a shared group relationship does not turn an unsuitable alternative into a presumed substitute.

Warranty and support over a high-mileage term

Jaecoo publishes seven-year/100,000-mile vehicle cover and separate eight-year/100,000-mile battery cover, subject to whichever limit comes first and the terms. Check expected return mileage, servicing location and assistance arrangements. Warranty, tyres, insurance, optional maintenance and replacement transport are separate responsibilities; ask what each proposed package actually includes.

Jaecoo 8 company-car tax across the lease

The Jaecoo 8 is a plug-in hybrid, not a zero-emission car. The captured IVF Executive entry shows 47g/km, but the certified electric range still needs confirming before a percentage is assigned. The rows below illustrate conditional low-CO2 bands; they are not a tax allocation to this particular vehicle.

For private use of a company car, the P11D value and applicable percentage determine the taxable benefit before individual adjustments. Your income tax rate then affects the amount payable. The percentage is not applied to the monthly rental. Compare all tax years the agreement spans.

The electric-mile figures above are HMRC band thresholds, not promises of this car’s driving range. Newer plug-in hybrid certification can show more than 50 g/km. A temporary company-car easement may treat an eligible car as 1 g/km where the registration date, electric range and Euro-status conditions are met; it is not automatic and must not be transferred to lease-rental deductions. Check the vehicle documents and HMRC’s plug-in hybrid conditions with your accountant.

Use our company-car BiK guide alongside HMRC’s 2026/27 and 2027/28 tables and the published 2028/29 and 2029/30 changes. Tax information checked 28 September 2026 against the C1 ledger and its primary sources. Tax treatment depends on individual circumstances and may change; consult your accountant.

Road tax and costs across the term

Vehicle Excise Duty (VED). For 2026/27, the standard annual VED payment after the first year is £200 before any supplement. First-year VED depends on CO2 and registration rules; zero-emission cars currently have a £10 first-year rate. These cash rates apply to 2026/27 only; later annual VED rates are not confirmed here. Ask how the funder treats tax increases during your agreement.

Expensive Car Supplement. The Expensive Car Supplement is £440 a year in 2026/27 for five years from the second licence. The list-price threshold is more than £40,000 for petrol, diesel and hybrid cars, or more than £50,000 for qualifying zero-emission cars registered from 1 April 2025. Use the published list price before discounts, including relevant options, and check the registration date. Plug-in hybrids do not receive the electric-car threshold. GOV.UK explains VED and the supplement.

Planned eVED. The government plans Electric Vehicle Excise Duty (eVED) from April 2028, alongside VED: 3p per mile for electric cars and 1.5p per mile for plug-in hybrids. This is proposed for April 2028, subject to legislation and implementation; it is not a charge currently in force. The stated rates are planned starting rates, with CPI uprating proposed from 2029/30 and later cash rates not confirmed. An agreement spanning introduction needs the funder’s written treatment of the charge and later changes. Check the government’s consultation response and final implementation guidance before committing.

VAT and the business accounts

VAT-registered businesses can normally reclaim 50% of the VAT on qualifying car rentals where private use is available, depending on circumstances and the normal VAT rules. Full rental-VAT recovery requires exclusive business use with no private availability. Maintenance can fall outside the rental block when it is genuinely optional, separately described in the contract and separately quantified on the invoice; recovery remains subject to normal VAT rules. Read HMRC’s motoring VAT guidance.

The hire-cost rules normally disallow 15% of otherwise deductible rentals for cars above 50 g/km, subject to their scope and exceptions. A company-car BiK easement does not establish relief from this restriction. Check HMRC’s car-hire deduction rules.

For accounting periods beginning on or after 1 January 2026, revised FRS 102 generally requires a right-of-use asset and lease liability for lessees, including small companies using Section 1A. FRS 105 lease accounting for eligible micro-entities was not changed in the same way. Contract hire therefore does not universally keep a car off the balance sheet. Ask your accountant to apply the right framework; HMRC summarises the accounting standards.

Flat Rate Scheme users generally cannot reclaim VAT on recurring car-hire payments. Ask your accountant which VAT regime applies before using the recovery examples above.

Build the quotation around the way you will use it

Tell IVF your annual mileage, regular passengers, essential equipment, charging access where relevant and preferred timing. Ask for the precise model year, derivative, options and registration status to be written into the quotation. The catalogue is a starting point; the offered vehicle and funder terms need confirmation.

Business Contract Hire is taken by the business; Personal Contract Hire is taken by the private individual. Both are subject to status and individual funder criteria. Compare the initial rental, term, mileage, maintenance and applicable fees on the same basis. An initial rental is part of the hire cost, not refundable security or ownership equity.

A manufacturer warranty starts under the supplied car’s warranty terms, normally from first registration. Its time and mileage limits may finish before your lease does. It is separate from optional servicing and tyre cover. Confirm maintenance inclusions, insurance responsibilities, tax provisions and early-termination terms before signing.

At the end of contract hire, return the vehicle; there is no contractual purchase option. Excess mileage, damage beyond the funder’s fair wear and tear standard, missing equipment or other contractual charges may still be payable. Check the return process before choosing your agreement.

Jaecoo 8 leasing questions

Is Jaecoo 8 on sale in the UK?

Jaecoo announced that first UK customer deliveries had begun on 28 May 2026. IVF lists one Executive derivative. Confirm the actual vehicle and timing for your enquiry rather than treating the launch announcement as an IVF stock promise.

Does Jaecoo 8 have six or seven seats?

Jaecoo distinguishes the Luxury 5+2 layout from Executive 4+2. IVF's captured entry is Executive with six seats. If seven places are essential, state that before requesting a quotation and ask about actual sourcing options.

Is Jaecoo 8 SHS-P a full electric vehicle?

No. It is a plug-in hybrid combining an engine with electric drive. Regular charging is part of the intended use. Do not apply a pure-electric company's tax percentage or operating assumptions to it.

Which Jaecoo 8 can I enquire about through IVF?

The captured catalogue entry is 1.5T SHS-P Executive automatic, described as a six-seater. Ask for its model year, equipment and registration details. A single listing does not establish that every UK manufacturer version is available.

Can I business lease the Jaecoo 8?

IVF can assess a business contract-hire enquiry, subject to status and availability. Confirm passenger duty and private use, then obtain the official CO2, electric range and P11D data for an accurate company-car tax assessment.

Does 47g/km tell me the BiK percentage?

Not by itself. That is the CO2 label in the captured IVF entry, while the relevant plug-in bands also depend on certified electric range and applicable rules. The actual vehicle documents and registration date must support the calculation.

How should I test the third row?

Arrange the other seats as they will normally be used and ask the intended passengers to try access and space. Test child-seat arrangements under the appropriate instructions and check luggage room with the third row occupied.

Should I compare Jaecoo 8 with Jaecoo 7?

Yes, if you are deciding whether the third row and Executive layout are necessary. Check the 7's own current specification and powertrain. The vehicles serve different passenger requirements despite their shared brand.

What warranty does Jaecoo publish?

The vehicle warranty is seven years or 100,000 miles and the battery warranty is eight years or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first and subject to terms. Servicing, wear items, insurance and maintenance packages require separate checks.

How should I compare Jaecoo 8 personal lease prices?

Compare the same six-seat Executive specification, agreement length, mileage and maintenance basis. Use the grid prices to start the discussion, then request all fees, tax provisions and return conditions in a written quotation.
