Your KGM Actyon leasing decision

Intelligent Vehicle Finance helps business and private drivers evaluate KGM Actyon leasing as a five-seat SUV choice. KGM currently presents the Actyon Hybrid in the UK, while IVF’s grid also retains a petrol K50 entry. Confirm the powertrain and model year before comparing cabin equipment, company-car tax and contract terms.

Decide what the Actyon must do before choosing it

The Actyon is a candidate for someone who wants a five-seat SUV with a distinctive body design and an automatic driving routine. The useful question is whether its cabin, rear access and parking footprint fit your daily use. For an owner-driver, those practical details are more valuable than treating unfamiliar styling as proof of either a benefit or a drawback.

We would start with the driver’s position and the space needed behind it. Try the car with your usual passengers, then load the items that travel most often. If the Actyon will be a business car, include sample cases or presentation equipment as well as personal luggage. You should be able to identify where everything goes without obstructing passengers or visibility.

KGM Actyon leasing: key facts

  • KGM’s current UK model page is Actyon Hybrid, checked 28 September 2026.
  • The UK importer lists five seats and a 1.5-litre turbo petrol hybrid powertrain.
  • A Dedicated Hybrid Transmission is specified for the current hybrid; it should not be confused with the earlier petrol automatic.
  • KGM describes a 12.3-inch central smart screen on its current Actyon Hybrid page.
  • IVF’s captured grid has two K50-labelled entries: one HEV and one petrol, each requiring its own specification check.
  • KGM states a five-year or 100,000-mile vehicle warranty, whichever comes first, subject to its terms and exclusions.
  • GOV.UK: the maximum company-car BiK band is 37% in 2026/27 and 39% in 2029/30; the exact car can fall in a lower band.

Actyon Hybrid and the petrol K50 catalogue entry

KGM’s UK website checked on 28 September 2026 presents Actyon Hybrid, using a 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine with electrical assistance and a Dedicated Hybrid Transmission. The current manufacturer page is the starting point for the hybrid product, rather than an older petrol brochure with the same Actyon name.

IVF’s live grid contains two distinct derivative links: a 1.5 HEV K50 automatic and a 1.5 K50 automatic. The second label should not be silently treated as the new hybrid. Ask which vehicle the offer refers to, whether it is already registered, and which specification document applies. A live catalogue entry is not evidence that a previous powertrain remains a current factory-order option.

K50 is therefore only part of the vehicle identity. Put the fuel system, transmission, model year, options and registration status into the quotation. That protects the comparison when the two entries appear visually similar but can carry different emissions, tax calculations or equipment. It also avoids transferring a current hybrid claim to an earlier petrol car.

Use the hybrid around your own route

The Actyon Hybrid is a non-plug-in choice, so its battery is managed as part of driving rather than through a home charging cable. That may suit a driver who parks in different places overnight or cannot install a charger. It remains important to test the transition between low-speed traffic and faster roads, particularly if the car will spend most of its time on one type of journey.

A hybrid system is not a guarantee of a particular fuel bill. Driving style, traffic, temperature and loading affect consumption. Compare manufacturer figures only on a like-for-like test basis and use realistic business mileage in your cost planning. If long motorway days dominate, ask for a test drive that reflects that pattern rather than relying on a short urban demonstration.

Do not infer four-wheel drive or a particular towing capability from the vehicle’s appearance. If either is essential, have the exact drivetrain and approval limits confirmed for the offered Actyon. The older petrol model and current hybrid need separate checks; a familiar model name does not make technical figures portable between them.

Equipment should reduce a real daily inconvenience

KGM’s current page describes a large central screen and camera technology, but the useful test is how the supplied car works for you. Pair your phone while stationary, find the functions used repeatedly and assess visibility during parking. For a shared vehicle, ensure another driver can adjust the seat, mirrors and settings without depending on the primary driver’s account.

Make a short equipment list in order of importance. Comfortable seating during a long appointment day, useful rear access and clear parking views may carry more value than features used only occasionally. Check those requirements against the exact K50 specification rather than assuming that a richly described model page applies to every catalogue entry.

Support, alternatives and the length of your agreement

KGM states five-year or 100,000-mile vehicle warranty cover, whichever comes first. Read the supplied car’s terms and identify any separate hybrid-component coverage, servicing requirements and exclusions. A warranty is not a maintenance package, and a long headline period does not mean that tyres, wear items or every repair are included.

For a business with one essential vehicle, ask about the practical service location and arrangements during scheduled work. Establish who books servicing, which items any maintenance package covers and how a temporary loss of use would be handled. These are operating decisions you can investigate without making unsupported predictions about a brand’s future or the car’s residual value.

Compare the Torres for a different KGM SUV layout and the Korando as another five-seat alternative. Repeat the same seat, luggage and parking checks in each. If the Actyon remains the better fit, choose term and mileage around likely future use, especially where business travel or household passenger needs could change before the agreement ends.

KGM Actyon company-car tax across the lease

Actyon Hybrid is not a zero-emission car or a plug-in hybrid. Its certified CO2 drives the company-car band. The older petrol entry must have its own calculation. The lower benchmark below is conditional on the offered car’s certification; the maximum row is a comparison limit, not an assigned Actyon rate.

Employee or director private use normally creates a benefit based on P11D value and the annual BiK percentage. Personal liability then depends on the individual’s tax position. These are not percentages of the rental. Sole traders follow different rules. Compare every tax year covered by the agreement.

Company-car BiK benchmarks, 2026/27 to 2029/30

Company-car BiK benchmarks, 2026/27 to 2029/30
Tax specification2026/272027/282028/292029/30
Petrol hybrid at 135-139 g/km, conditional benchmark33%33%34%35%
Car at the annual maximum band, conditional benchmark37%37%38%39%

These conditional bands require the supplied KGM Actyon’s P11D, certified CO2, fuel and registration date. Uncertified diesels can attract a supplement, capped at the annual maximum.

Use our company-car BiK guide alongside HMRC’s 2026/27 and 2027/28 tables and the published 2028/29 and 2029/30 changes. Tax information checked 28 September 2026 against the C1 ledger and its primary sources. Tax treatment depends on individual circumstances and may change; consult your accountant.

Road tax and costs across the term

Vehicle Excise Duty (VED). For 2026/27, annual VED after year one is £200 before supplements. First-year VED depends on CO2 and registration; zero-emission cars pay £10. Later cash rates are not confirmed here. Check the funder’s treatment of increases.

Expensive Car Supplement. The £440 annual supplement lasts five years from year two. List-price thresholds, including relevant options before discounts, are over £40,000 for petrol, diesel and hybrid cars, and over £50,000 for zero-emission cars registered from 1 April 2025. Registration date matters. Plug-in hybrids use the £40,000 threshold. Check GOV.UK’s VED rules.

Planned eVED. eVED is planned from April 2028 alongside VED, subject to legislation and implementation: 3p per mile for electric cars and 1.5p for plug-in hybrids. It is not currently charged. CPI uprating is proposed from 2029/30; later cash rates are unconfirmed. Check the funder’s treatment and the government’s consultation response. The non-plug-in KGM Actyon falls outside these planned categories.

VAT and the business accounts

VAT-registered businesses can normally reclaim 50% of the VAT on qualifying car rentals where private use is available, depending on circumstances and the normal VAT rules. Full rental-VAT recovery requires exclusive business use with no private availability. Maintenance can fall outside the rental block when it is genuinely optional, separately described in the contract and separately quantified on the invoice; recovery remains subject to normal VAT rules. Read HMRC’s motoring VAT guidance.

Businesses using the VAT Flat Rate Scheme do not normally recover input VAT on recurring car hire. The separate capital-goods exception does not turn hire invoices into a vehicle purchase. Check HMRC’s Flat Rate Scheme guidance.

The hire-cost rules normally disallow 15% of otherwise deductible rentals for cars above 50 g/km, subject to their scope and exceptions. A company-car BiK easement does not establish relief from this restriction. Check HMRC’s car-hire deduction rules.

For accounting periods beginning on or after 1 January 2026, revised FRS 102 generally requires a right-of-use asset and lease liability for lessees, including small companies using Section 1A. FRS 105 lease accounting for eligible micro-entities was not changed in the same way. Contract hire therefore does not universally keep a car off the balance sheet. Ask your accountant to apply the right framework; HMRC summarises the accounting standards.

Build the quotation around the way you will use it

Tell IVF your annual mileage, regular passengers, essential equipment, charging access where relevant and preferred timing. Ask for the precise model year, derivative, options and registration status to be written into the quotation. The catalogue is a starting point; the offered vehicle and funder terms need confirmation.

Business Contract Hire is taken by the business; Personal Contract Hire is taken by the private individual. Both are subject to status and individual funder criteria. Compare the initial rental, term, mileage, maintenance and applicable fees on the same basis. An initial rental is part of the hire cost, not refundable security or ownership equity.

A manufacturer warranty starts under the supplied car’s warranty terms, normally from first registration. Its time and mileage limits may finish before your lease does. It is separate from optional servicing and tyre cover. Confirm maintenance inclusions, insurance responsibilities, tax provisions and early-termination terms before signing.

At the end of contract hire, return the vehicle; there is no contractual purchase option. Excess mileage, damage beyond the funder’s fair wear and tear standard, missing equipment or other contractual charges may still be payable. Check the return process before choosing your agreement.

KGM Actyon leasing questions

Is the KGM Actyon currently a hybrid in the UK?

KGM’s UK model page checked on 28 September 2026 presents Actyon Hybrid. IVF’s grid also retains a petrol K50 label. Ask which powertrain and model year the quotation covers; the current hybrid’s specification should not be copied onto that earlier entry.

Does KGM Actyon Hybrid need plugging in?

No. The current Actyon Hybrid is a non-plug-in petrol hybrid, with the vehicle managing its electrical system while driving. It does not need a charging cable and should not be assessed as an electric-only company car.

What does K50 mean on an Actyon listing?

K50 is a specification label, but it does not fully identify the powertrain. IVF lists both HEV K50 and petrol K50 entries. Confirm fuel system, transmission, model year and equipment in writing before comparing offers carrying that name.

How many seats does the KGM Actyon have?

KGM lists five seats for the current Actyon Hybrid. Check rear passenger space with the front seats adjusted for the regular driver. If you require a third row, tell IVF before shortlisting, because that is a different vehicle requirement.

Can I choose a fully electric Actyon?

The current UK Actyon product checked for this page is a petrol hybrid. Do not interpret hybrid as fully electric. If zero-emission driving is essential, ask IVF to compare a separate electric vehicle that meets your passenger and charging needs.

What warranty does the KGM Actyon have?

KGM states five years or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first, subject to its warranty terms. Confirm the supplied vehicle’s registration date, component cover and servicing obligations. Maintenance within a lease remains a separate contractual choice.

Is Actyon suitable for business contract hire?

It can be investigated where a five-seat automatic SUV fits the business use. Compare the exact derivative’s P11D, certified CO2 and private-use position, as well as company costs. Its hybrid description alone does not establish a low company-car tax percentage.

Should I compare Actyon with Torres or Korando?

Both provide useful KGM alternatives when you are deciding on cabin layout and daily usability. Try the same passengers and luggage in each. Compare actual powertrains and equipment rather than assuming closely related badges mean identical specifications.

Can the Actyon tow what I need?

Ask IVF to confirm the offered derivative’s towing approval, gross train weight and towbar arrangements against your loaded trailer. Do not transfer figures from an earlier petrol Actyon or another KGM. Licence and insurer requirements also need checking for the intended use.

What should an Actyon lease quotation specify?

It should identify the precise vehicle and model year, then set out term, annual mileage, initial rental, maintenance, fees and return conditions. Ask for clarification of HEV or petrol wording before signing. Availability and timing require confirmation for that particular offer.
