Intelligent Vehicle Finance helps businesses specify Peugeot Expert leasing around people, equipment and working routes. Compare the medium panel van with crew configurations, check Standard or Long load space, and assess diesel or e-Expert power. The right choice depends on the fully equipped vehicle, not the largest headline capacity.
Expert suits a business whose work has outgrown a compact van but does not need a large high-roof load carrier. Think about the complete team arriving at a job: people, tool storage, consumables and the equipment needed to finish without another journey. A panel van and a crew version answer different parts of that requirement. Decide which task matters most before choosing an engine or trim.
It may be the wrong size if you regularly need to stand upright in the load area or move bulky assembled equipment through a tall rear opening. Compare Boxer for that job. If the van usually carries one person and a modest tool set, Partner may be easier to place at crowded customer premises. The benefit of Expert's middle size should be demonstrated with your own load rather than assumed from the badge.
Tell us how many people travel, the equipment they carry and the longest item that must remain secure inside your Expert.
| Van | Useful comparison | Question to resolve |
|---|---|---|
| Peugeot Expert | Panel and crew configurations with Peugeot equipment packaging. | Can the full team and fitted tools travel within the finished limits? |
| Vauxhall Vivaro | Prime, Pro and GS specifications for a consistent fleet brief. | Which assistance and load features are actually included? |
| Toyota Proace | Toyota Professional support and specialist body options. | Who supports the vehicle and any conversion? |
The three related vans require separate UK derivative, equipment and support checks. Shared architecture does not establish identical specifications.
Peugeot's UK guide effective 1 July 2026 gives the M panel van a 2,512mm load floor and the XL 2,862mm. Both have 1,258mm between the wheel arches, a maximum internal width of 1,628mm and 1,397mm load height. Standard and Long descriptions in older listings need mapping to the actual body code. Use these figures for the named guide configuration and request a matching drawing for the quotation.
Basic volumes are 5.3m³ and 6.1m³. The appropriate load-through arrangement extends the stated lengths to 3,674mm and 4,026mm and volumes to 5.8m³ and 6.6m³. It creates a passage for suitable long items, not a uniformly extended rectangular compartment. Check the opening and passenger-seat arrangement with the equipment you carry. An extra-long object may also obstruct access to everyday tools.
Plan racking around the jobs done most often. Heavy items need suitable restraint and a sensible loading position; frequently used parts need access without unloading everything else. Allow for the lining and shelves in your dimensional sketch. If XL is required only for an occasional long item, compare how that item would actually be secured in the relevant M load-through specification.
The guide's Double Cab reference provides six seats and a shorter usable load floor than the corresponding panel van: 2,017mm for M and 2,365mm for XL, with quoted volumes of 3.2m³ and 4.0m³. Those are separate configurations. Do not combine a crew seating count with the panel van's largest volume when deciding whether the team and its equipment will fit.
The named electric M Professional panel-van reference has 3,230kg gross vehicle weight and 1,210kg maximum indicative payload. Peugeot's definition includes the driver. The XL reference is 1,138kg, illustrating why more space does not necessarily mean more carrying weight. The stated allowance must accommodate the driver, additional occupants, fitted storage, towbar and equipment. Confirm the actual derivative and deduct each relevant load once when calculating the remaining capacity.
Ask for the finished vehicle's payload and axle limits after installation. If different teams share it, specify one maximum equipment list and a loading method that everyone can follow. A quotation for the base van alone does not establish how much the converted working vehicle can carry.
Peugeot UK lists e-Expert at the 28 September 2026 check. The July guide's 75kWh gross, 69kWh net battery and 100kW motor reference has a 219-mile combined WLTP figure in its technical table. Other rows show different ranges, so this is not a single promise for all trims. IVF's catalogue includes both 49kWh and 75kWh wording; confirm the exact model year, battery and certified range before planning a route.
The same guide gives up to 100kW DC charging and approximately 45 minutes from 5% to 80% under its stated conditions. That benchmark does not describe a full charge, nor the time spent reaching or waiting for a charger. Temperature, load, driving speed and battery condition affect the working result. Identify where the van will recharge between jobs and whether an unplanned late call can be accommodated.
For diesel, the current guide and IVF descriptions include different generations. The live catalogue contains 1.5-litre, older 2.0-litre and newer 2.2-litre labels, with manual and automatic versions. Compare the offered engine and gearbox on the quotation. If electric is viable on the regular route but not the occasional longest day, establish how that exceptional work would be covered before committing.
IVF's Professional, Asphalt and Sport entries should be treated as specific catalogue descriptions, not interchangeable equipment packages. State whether the team needs a particular rear-view system, parking aid, passenger arrangement or load-through feature. Then have the supplying party confirm it against the model year offered. A trim name alone cannot resolve changes between successive brochures.
Expert shares related medium-van architecture with Vauxhall Vivaro and Toyota Proace, as described in the manufacturers' commercial-vehicle material. Peugeot trim packaging, the supplied warranty terms, dealer facilities and conversion arrangements still need an individual comparison. Do not assume that a feature available on a related van is included on the Expert quotation.
The current guide describes an electric traction-battery warranty of eight years or 100,000 miles, with a 70% capacity threshold and applicable conditions. This is distinct from the vehicle warranty and a maintenance package. Confirm all three for the supplied van, including first-registration dates and servicing obligations. For specialist equipment, establish who takes responsibility if a vehicle fault and an installation fault overlap.
Provide IVF with a drawing or equipment schedule covering shelving, lining, power supply and any external attachments. The installer should confirm mounting, electrical requirements, finished weights and access for servicing. Obtain the funder's permission where required, including what must be removed or restored at return.
For a crew vehicle, check that storage does not compromise the intended seating or partition arrangement. Record the agreed configuration at handover and keep the installation paperwork with the service records. This gives the business a consistent specification to use when ordering another Expert or replacing the van later.
In 2026/27, chargeable private use of a qualifying non-zero-emission commercial Expert uses the standard £4,170 van benefit value. Employer-provided private fuel can add a separate £798 van fuel benefit. These values are not the amount of tax every driver pays.
For a qualifying zero-emission e-Expert, the current rule applies 0% to £4,170, so the van benefit is nil. For other vans, business travel, commuting and insignificant private use have specific exemption conditions. Record the intended use and ask the accountant to assess it.
Do not extend the current amounts unchanged into 2027/28, 2028/29 or 2029/30. Check the annual van rules as they are published; passenger-car percentage bands are not the forecast for this panel van. GOV.UK van benefit values and van exemptions checked 28 September 2026.
Vehicle Excise Duty (VED). For 2026/27, the single annual payment is £360 for qualifying TC39 light goods vehicles registered from 1 March 2001 and up to 3,500kg revenue weight, including electric vans. Confirm registration class and the lease provision for changes. GOV.UK light goods rates checked 28 September 2026.
Expensive Car Supplement. The Expensive Car Supplement concerns cars. It should not be added to a TC39 Expert merely because of its value or equipment.
Planned eVED. Vans are excluded from eVED at its planned April 2028 introduction in the July 2026 government response. Recheck policy if the lease extends beyond that date. Read the eVED scope.
VAT on an Expert lease depends on the business, VAT registration and use. The passenger-car rental restriction should not automatically be applied to a commercial van. Refer to HMRC Notice 700/64 and IVF’s business leasing VAT guide.
Your accountant should assess deductions, capital allowances and the accounting treatment of the agreement and installed equipment. Van benefit guidance alone does not settle those questions. Keep the quotation and conversion invoices available for that review.
Discuss the vehicle and agreement together. Call 01752 429950 or request a callback with your business requirements.
Tell IVF your annual mileage, crew, loads, towing, fitted equipment, charging access where relevant and preferred timing. Ask for the precise model year, derivative, options and registration status to be written into the quotation. The catalogue is a starting point; the offered vehicle and funder terms need confirmation.
Business Contract Hire is taken by the business; Personal Contract Hire is taken by the private individual. Both are subject to status and individual funder criteria. Compare the initial rental, term, mileage, maintenance and applicable fees on the same basis. An initial rental is part of the hire cost, not refundable security or ownership equity.
A manufacturer warranty starts under the supplied vehicle’s warranty terms, normally from first registration. Its time and mileage limits may finish before your lease does. It is separate from optional servicing and tyre cover. Confirm maintenance inclusions, insurance responsibilities, tax provisions and early-termination terms before signing.
At the end of contract hire, return the vehicle; there is no contractual purchase option. Excess mileage, damage beyond the funder’s fair wear and tear standard, missing equipment or other contractual charges may still be payable. Check the return process before choosing your agreement.
Use Peugeot van leasing, all van leasing, medium van leasing, electric van leasing, VAT on business van leasing, Vauxhall Vivaro leasing, Toyota Proace leasing, Ford Transit Custom leasing to narrow your choice or discuss a quotation.
Ready to narrow the choice? Tell us the body, load, annual mileage and equipment you need.
Expert is Peugeot’s medium commercial van. Partner is the compact option and Boxer is the larger alternative. Choose by the load shape, access and people needed rather than treating size as a specification upgrade.
The July 2026 UK panel-van guide gives floor lengths of 2,512mm and 2,862mm respectively. The exact catalogue description must be matched to that body before you rely on the dimensions.
The guide includes a six-seat Double Cab configuration. It has less load space than the corresponding panel van, and occupants affect the remaining payload. Specify the complete crew and equipment requirement together.
The extended loading arrangement depends on the specified folding seat and bulkhead system. Check which seats remain available with your load in place; the longest loading figure is not the normal full-width floor.
Peugeot UK lists e-Expert and IVF has electric catalogue entries at the September 2026 check. Confirm the proposed vehicle and specification in a quotation. A listing does not establish stock or a delivery date.
No. Battery labels, model years and technical range figures differ. The guide benchmark must be tied to the particular battery, body and equipment offered, with additional allowance for the actual working route.
The catalogue contains descriptions from different technical generations. Ask which engine, gearbox and model year apply to the actual quotation; do not assume an older description has the newest engine.
Yes. They belong to the related Stellantis medium-van family, with Toyota participating through its commercial-vehicle collaboration. UK trim, warranty, servicing and conversion arrangements still need separate comparison.
Tell IVF what must be fitted before ordering. Confirm installer responsibility, funder permission, finished payload and return requirements. A base-vehicle payload figure cannot simply be carried over after equipment is installed.
Give the required seats, heaviest equipment, longest item, annual mileage and route pattern. Add essential assistance features, installation details and charging access where relevant so the offered derivative can be checked against the job.
Bring your load, crew, route and equipment requirements. We can help turn them into a clear vehicle and contract brief.
