Your Honda Super-N leasing decision

Intelligent Vehicle Finance helps business and private drivers assess Honda Super-N electric car leasing. Honda now offers the compact model in Great Britain, and IVF lists the Advance derivative. Its city-focused size and modest combined-range benchmark make journey fit and charging access the first decisions, before equipment or the distinctive BOOST driving mode.

Super-N business and personal leasing for a defined local routine

The Super-N is a compact electric car with a specific job to do. It can be considered for a director or employee making local journeys, or a private household wanting a small car with a distinctive driving character. Start with the normal return trip and the longest day you cannot easily rearrange. This is a more useful starting point than treating every electric hatchback as a long-distance replacement.

Its compact dimensions are relevant when parking space and narrow streets shape everyday use. That does not remove the need to check the seating and luggage arrangement. A small footprint may suit the office car park while failing to carry the equipment you take between sites. Bring the work bag, shopping or other regular load to the demonstration and test the actual opening and seating positions.

Honda Super-N leasing: key facts

  • UK status checked 28 September 2026: Honda’s press kit says Super-N became available in Great Britain from 22 June 2026.
  • Honda UK specifies a 29.6kWh battery; the IVF Advance entry uses a rounded 30kWh label.
  • Honda’s Advance benchmarks are 128 miles WLTP combined and 199 miles WLTP city. They describe different test cycles, not interchangeable journey ranges; real use varies.
  • Honda UK dimensions: 3,599mm long and 1,573mm wide. Check mirror clearance and the actual parking space separately.
  • Honda states three-year standard warranty, with service-activated extension up to eight years or 100,000 miles, subject to qualifying authorised servicing and terms.
  • GOV.UK: zero-emission company-car BiK is 4% in 2026/27, rising to 9% in 2029/30.

A current UK model, not a future launch promise

Honda’s April announcement anticipated a July UK on-sale date, but its later June press kit states availability in Great Britain from 22 June 2026. The later product evidence and current Honda UK specification are the basis for this page. Super-N should not be presented as a model that has yet to reach this market. Equally, the manufacturer’s launch date does not prove IVF has an allocated vehicle.

IVF’s captured row is 70kW Advance 30kWh 5dr Auto. Honda’s UK technical page gives a 29.6kWh battery and explains the difference between normal power and BOOST operation. Use Advance and the current UK specification when making the enquiry, then ask for model year and vehicle details in writing. A rounded catalogue capacity is an identifier, not a replacement for the technical document.

128 combined miles and 199 city miles mean different things

Honda’s UK Advance specification gives 128 miles WLTP combined and 199 miles WLTP city. The city number must not be used as the expected range for a motorway commute. The combined figure is also a standardised benchmark, not a promise. Weather, speed, heating, passengers and load affect the distance you can drive, so confirm the supplied vehicle’s certification and plan a reserve.

For a local business role, list a full day of calls rather than a single outward journey. Include the return to base, any unplanned collection and the possibility that the usual charger is unavailable. A car that covers the first appointment comfortably may still need a different plan for the entire day. Avoid relying on a charger at a customer’s premises unless access is confirmed.

Charging the Super-N on the equipment you can actually use

Honda lists a maximum DC charging capability of 50kW and an approximate 15-80% time of 30 minutes for the specified Advance under its stated conditions. This is a manufacturer benchmark, not a full-charge duration or a guaranteed stop. Charger output, battery temperature and the starting charge level matter. Confirm those conditions for the actual car before using the figure in journey planning.

Home charging needs its own calculation. The on-board charger, electrical supply and installed equipment limit AC charging; a more powerful sign on a public point does not mean the car will accept all of it. Ask the retailer to explain compatibility and a normal overnight routine. Confirm where the cable can be stored and whether the parking arrangement remains practical when another car is beside it.

BOOST mode and the difference between character and necessity

Honda describes BOOST mode as increasing output from 47kW to 70kW and adding a simulated seven-speed transmission with sound. It is part of the Super-N’s distinctive driving character, not a conventional petrol gearbox. Try it during an appropriate demonstration and decide whether you enjoy it. Then test the ordinary modes you are likely to use most of the time.

The 70kW catalogue label should not lead you to assume every mode delivers the same output in the same way. Ask the retailer to explain how BOOST is selected, any relevant operating conditions and how the displays communicate it. A driver who shares the car with colleagues should be able to hand it over clearly without needing everyone to learn by trial and error.

Service-activated warranty and a compact car’s lease plan

Honda states that the Super-N has a three-year standard warranty and can qualify for service-activated cover up to eight years or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first. That extension is conditional on servicing at an Authorised Honda Retailer or Service Centre in accordance with the recommended schedule. Do not describe it as an unconditional eight-year standard vehicle warranty.

If an optional maintenance package is being considered, ask how it works with the authorised-servicing requirement and the detailed warranty terms. Check the supplied car’s start date and the separate high-voltage battery conditions. Routine consumables, damage and insurance should still be understood independently. An attractive maximum cover period does not answer every question about a multi-year agreement.

Honda Super-N company-car tax across the lease

For a qualifying Super-N company car available for private use, zero-emission BiK follows the annual electric-car path. Small physical size and a modest battery do not create a separate percentage category. Confirm the P11D value and any relevant adjustments with payroll; a sole trader using their own car needs a different business-use assessment.

For an employee or director with private use, the taxable benefit normally starts with the car’s P11D value multiplied by the applicable BiK percentage. Personal tax then depends on the individual’s income tax rate and any relevant adjustments. The percentage is not the tax rate applied to the lease rental. A sole trader’s own business car use follows different rules.

The agreement can cross several tax years. Compare the whole path, not just the percentage in the year the car arrives.

Tax information checked 28 September 2026 against the C1 ledger and its primary sources. Tax treatment depends on individual circumstances and may change; consult your accountant.

Road tax and costs across the term

Vehicle Excise Duty (VED). For 2026/27, the standard annual VED payment after the first year is £200 before any supplement. First-year VED depends on CO2 and registration rules; zero-emission cars currently have a £10 first-year rate. These cash rates apply to 2026/27 only; later annual VED rates are not confirmed here. Ask how the funder treats tax increases during your agreement.

Expensive Car Supplement. The Expensive Car Supplement is £440 a year in 2026/27 for five years from the second licence. The list-price threshold is more than £40,000 for petrol, diesel and hybrid cars, or more than £50,000 for qualifying zero-emission cars registered from 1 April 2025. Use the published list price before discounts, including relevant options, and check the registration date. Plug-in hybrids do not receive the electric-car threshold. GOV.UK explains VED and the supplement.

Planned eVED. The government plans Electric Vehicle Excise Duty (eVED) from April 2028, alongside VED: 3p per mile for electric cars and 1.5p per mile for plug-in hybrids. This is proposed for April 2028, subject to legislation and implementation; it is not a charge currently in force. The stated rates are planned starting rates, with CPI uprating proposed from 2029/30 and later cash rates not confirmed. An agreement spanning introduction needs the funder’s written treatment of the charge and later changes. Check the government’s consultation response and final implementation guidance before committing.

VAT and the business accounts

VAT-registered businesses can normally reclaim 50% of the VAT on qualifying car rentals where private use is available, depending on circumstances and the normal VAT rules. Full rental-VAT recovery requires exclusive business use with no private availability. Maintenance can fall outside the rental block when it is genuinely optional, separately described in the contract and separately quantified on the invoice; recovery remains subject to normal VAT rules. Read HMRC’s motoring VAT guidance.

A zero-emission car is not subject to the CO2-based lease-rental restriction. Check HMRC’s car-hire deduction rules.

For accounting periods beginning on or after 1 January 2026, revised FRS 102 generally requires a right-of-use asset and lease liability for lessees, including small companies using Section 1A. FRS 105 lease accounting for eligible micro-entities was not changed in the same way. Contract hire therefore does not universally keep a car off the balance sheet. Ask your accountant to apply the right framework; HMRC summarises the accounting standards.

Flat Rate Scheme users generally cannot reclaim VAT on recurring car-hire payments. Ask your accountant which VAT regime applies before using the recovery examples above.

Build the quotation around the way you will use it

Tell IVF your annual mileage, regular passengers, essential equipment, charging access where relevant and preferred timing. Ask for the precise model year, derivative, options and registration status to be written into the quotation. The catalogue is a starting point; the offered vehicle and funder terms need confirmation.

Business Contract Hire is taken by the business; Personal Contract Hire is taken by the private individual. Both are subject to status and individual funder criteria. Compare the initial rental, term, mileage, maintenance and applicable fees on the same basis. An initial rental is part of the hire cost, not refundable security or ownership equity.

A manufacturer warranty starts under the supplied car’s warranty terms, normally from first registration. Its time and mileage limits may finish before your lease does. It is separate from optional servicing and tyre cover. Confirm maintenance inclusions, insurance responsibilities, tax provisions and early-termination terms before signing.

At the end of contract hire, return the vehicle; there is no contractual purchase option. Excess mileage, damage beyond the funder’s fair wear and tear standard, missing equipment or other contractual charges may still be payable. Check the return process before choosing your agreement.

Honda Super-N leasing questions

Is Honda Super-N available in the UK now?

Honda’s later press kit states that Super-N became available in Great Britain from 22 June 2026. The current UK product pages and IVF catalogue support a current-model enquiry. Specific vehicle supply and timing still need confirmation.

Which Super-N does IVF list?

The capture shows one 70kW Advance 30kWh 5dr Auto entry. Honda’s technical specification describes a 29.6kWh battery. Ask for the exact UK Advance model-year specification behind the rounded catalogue label.

Is the Super-N a fully electric car?

Yes. Honda describes it as battery electric and requiring mains electricity for charging. Its simulated transmission and sound in BOOST mode do not mean that it has a petrol engine.

Can I use 199 miles as its motorway range?

No. Honda’s 199-mile figure is WLTP city; the Advance combined benchmark is 128 miles. They are different test cycles. Actual range depends on conditions, and the offered vehicle’s certification should be checked.

How quickly does Super-N rapid-charge?

Honda’s Advance benchmark is approximately 30 minutes from 15-80% with a maximum DC capability of 50kW under stated conditions. It is not a full-charge promise. Temperature, battery state and charger capability affect results.

What does BOOST mode do?

Honda says BOOST increases output from 47kW to 70kW and provides a simulated seven-speed transmission and sound. Ask for a demonstration and the relevant operating conditions, then compare it with the ordinary modes you will use daily.

Can I business lease a Super-N for local journeys?

IVF can assess that enquiry subject to status and availability. Check the entire day’s route, equipment load and reliable charging at base. Employee or director private use normally follows electric company-car BiK rules.

Could Super-N be my only private car?

That depends on your longest regular journey, passenger needs and willingness to plan charging on longer trips. Test the actual cabin and load first. Its compact local-use strengths do not establish suitability for every household.

Does Super-N have an eight-year standard warranty?

No. Honda states three years standard, with service-activated extension up to eight years or 100,000 miles subject to qualifying authorised servicing and terms. Check the exact conditions and separate battery cover for the supplied car.

What should an enquiry include when only Advance is listed?

Give IVF annual mileage, the longest routine day, charging access, passenger and luggage needs, and any essential equipment. Ask for the precise car and terms in writing, then compare an alternative if those needs are not met.
