Your Maxus MIFA 7 leasing decision

Intelligent Vehicle Finance helps businesses and private drivers assess Maxus MIFA 7 electric MPV leasing. This car route is for passenger use, with seven-seat Elite, Luxury and Premium entries in the IVF catalogue. Compare access, luggage with passengers aboard and a workable charging plan before asking for the exact vehicle and contract terms.

MIFA 7 leasing for people who actually use the rear seats

The MIFA 7 deserves attention when passenger access and the seating layout are the starting point, rather than the appearance of an SUV. A business owner may need an electric car that carries colleagues or visiting clients comfortably. A private household may want everyday access to a full set of passenger seats. In either case, the useful test is the occupied cabin, with the usual bags aboard.

This is an electric MPV on IVF’s car route. It should not be evaluated as a load-carrying Maxus van simply because the brand is also prominent in commercial vehicles. The relevant questions concern seating, luggage, passenger comfort, charging and the supplied car’s certification. Van payload claims and van benefit rules do not answer those questions.

Maxus MIFA 7 leasing: key facts

  • Maxus UK currently markets the MIFA 7 as an electric passenger MPV; checked 28 September 2026.
  • The UK brochure lists seven-seat Elite and Luxury with 77kWh, and Premium with 90kWh, matching the captured IVF battery and trim labels.
  • UK brochure WLTP combined benchmarks: 254 miles for Elite/Luxury 77kWh and 298 miles for Premium 90kWh. Confirm model year and equipment; actual range varies with conditions.
  • The UK brochure states vehicle warranty of five years/62,000 miles and battery warranty of eight years/125,000 miles, subject to terms.
  • Passenger use and car tax are the basis here. A Maxus van is a separate product and cannot supply the MIFA 7’s tax treatment.
  • GOV.UK: zero-emission company-car BiK is 4% in 2026/27, rising to 9% in 2029/30.

Elite, Luxury and Premium: what the live range identifies

The 28 September IVF capture lists 180kW Elite 7 Seat 77kWh, 180kW Luxury 7 Seat 77kWh and 180kW Premium 7 Seat 90kWh, all automatic. The battery change therefore coincides with a trim change in these entries. A Premium comparison should identify both the equipment difference and the battery difference instead of attributing every change in the quote to capacity alone.

The current Maxus UK page links a technical brochure covering these three batteries and trims. It identifies a 2-2-3 seating layout throughout. The general page also contains broader and conflicting range statements, so the brochure’s derivative-specific combined-cycle table is the basis here. Confirm that the supplied model year and equipment match before relying on its figures.

Test all seven seats and the luggage area together

Passenger capacity and luggage capacity need to be considered at the same time. Start with every seat you expect to occupy in its usable position, then load the bags. An airport journey with adults and suitcases is different from a local school run. Folding a rear seat may solve the luggage problem while removing the passenger place that justified the MPV in the first place.

Watch the entire boarding process. Check the space beside the vehicle needed for access, the step into the cabin and the movement required to reach the rearmost row. If child seats form part of the routine, use their actual dimensions and check the approved mounting positions in the handbook. Do not assume that any two child seats will fit simply because the vehicle has seven places.

Choosing the MIFA 7 battery around a loaded journey

A 77kWh versus 90kWh discussion should begin with the longest regular passenger journey and the places you could charge without inconvenience. The larger listed battery may provide useful flexibility, but capacity alone cannot establish the distance the car will cover. Vehicle specification, usable energy, speed, temperature and load all matter, and the manufacturer’s precise test data must match the quoted car.

The UK-linked technical brochure gives 254 miles WLTP combined for Elite and Luxury 77kWh, and 298 miles for Premium 90kWh. These are scoped benchmarks for the brochure specifications, including their listed 18-inch wheels, not promises for every journey. Match the offered car to that sheet. City-cycle figures describe a different test and should not replace the combined figure when planning mixed or motorway driving.

An MPV charging routine that works with other people’s schedules

Charging at the place the MIFA 7 normally parks makes the routine easier to control. At a business premises, establish who has access to the charge point and how booking works when other vehicles need it. If the car is taken home by a driver, agree how charging expenses and access are handled. Confirm installation permission and the practical cable route before committing to the car.

Ask the supplying retailer to demonstrate the charging port, cable storage, charge scheduling and any battery preparation functions on the exact specification. A driver who collects the vehicle for an early departure should understand how to check its state of charge beforehand. A shared calendar entry for the trip does not ensure the car was plugged in the night before.

MIFA 7, a seven-seat SUV or an executive MPV?

The MGS9 offers a seven-seat plug-in hybrid SUV comparison when regular charging is possible but petrol capability is part of the brief. Lexus LM is a different executive-transport proposition, useful for a business buyer considering passenger comfort and cabin priorities. These alternatives should be compared by the actual seating layout and intended use; do not assume every derivative has the same number of places.

The current UK-linked brochure states five years or 62,000 miles for the vehicle and eight years or 125,000 miles for the battery. Obtain the full terms and start date for the supplied car. Confirm servicing obligations, battery-cover conditions and exclusions. Maintenance, breakdown assistance and insurance are separate questions; none should be assumed included because a warranty exists.

Maxus MIFA 7 company-car tax across the lease

This page concerns the MIFA 7 passenger car. For employee or director private use, confirm its zero-emission car status and P11D value before applying the electric-car BiK path. Do not use the van benefit charge because Maxus also sells commercial vehicles. The supplied car’s list price and registration date also matter to the Expensive Car Supplement.

For an employee or director with private use, the taxable benefit normally starts with the car’s P11D value multiplied by the applicable BiK percentage. Personal tax then depends on the individual’s income tax rate and any relevant adjustments. The percentage is not the tax rate applied to the lease rental. A sole trader’s own business car use follows different rules.

The agreement can cross several tax years. Compare the whole path, not just the percentage in the year the car arrives.

Use our company-car BiK guide alongside HMRC’s 2026/27 and 2027/28 tables and the published 2028/29 and 2029/30 changes. Tax information checked 28 September 2026 against the C1 ledger and its primary sources. Tax treatment depends on individual circumstances and may change; consult your accountant.

Road tax and costs across the term

Vehicle Excise Duty (VED). For 2026/27, the standard annual VED payment after the first year is £200 before any supplement. First-year VED depends on CO2 and registration rules; zero-emission cars currently have a £10 first-year rate. These cash rates apply to 2026/27 only; later annual VED rates are not confirmed here. Ask how the funder treats tax increases during your agreement.

Expensive Car Supplement. The Expensive Car Supplement is £440 a year in 2026/27 for five years from the second licence. The list-price threshold is more than £40,000 for petrol, diesel and hybrid cars, or more than £50,000 for qualifying zero-emission cars registered from 1 April 2025. Use the published list price before discounts, including relevant options, and check the registration date. Plug-in hybrids do not receive the electric-car threshold. GOV.UK explains VED and the supplement.

Planned eVED. The government plans Electric Vehicle Excise Duty (eVED) from April 2028, alongside VED: 3p per mile for electric cars and 1.5p per mile for plug-in hybrids. This is proposed for April 2028, subject to legislation and implementation; it is not a charge currently in force. The stated rates are planned starting rates, with CPI uprating proposed from 2029/30 and later cash rates not confirmed. An agreement spanning introduction needs the funder’s written treatment of the charge and later changes. Check the government’s consultation response and final implementation guidance before committing.

VAT and the business accounts

VAT-registered businesses can normally reclaim 50% of the VAT on qualifying car rentals where private use is available, depending on circumstances and the normal VAT rules. Full rental-VAT recovery requires exclusive business use with no private availability. Maintenance can fall outside the rental block when it is genuinely optional, separately described in the contract and separately quantified on the invoice; recovery remains subject to normal VAT rules. Read HMRC’s motoring VAT guidance.

A zero-emission car is not subject to the CO2-based lease-rental restriction. Check HMRC’s car-hire deduction rules.

For accounting periods beginning on or after 1 January 2026, revised FRS 102 generally requires a right-of-use asset and lease liability for lessees, including small companies using Section 1A. FRS 105 lease accounting for eligible micro-entities was not changed in the same way. Contract hire therefore does not universally keep a car off the balance sheet. Ask your accountant to apply the right framework; HMRC summarises the accounting standards.

Flat Rate Scheme users generally cannot reclaim VAT on recurring car-hire payments. Ask your accountant which VAT regime applies before using the recovery examples above.

Build the quotation around the way you will use it

Tell IVF your annual mileage, regular passengers, essential equipment, charging access where relevant and preferred timing. Ask for the precise model year, derivative, options and registration status to be written into the quotation. The catalogue is a starting point; the offered vehicle and funder terms need confirmation.

Business Contract Hire is taken by the business; Personal Contract Hire is taken by the private individual. Both are subject to status and individual funder criteria. Compare the initial rental, term, mileage, maintenance and applicable fees on the same basis. An initial rental is part of the hire cost, not refundable security or ownership equity.

A manufacturer warranty starts under the supplied car’s warranty terms, normally from first registration. Its time and mileage limits may finish before your lease does. It is separate from optional servicing and tyre cover. Confirm maintenance inclusions, insurance responsibilities, tax provisions and early-termination terms before signing.

At the end of contract hire, return the vehicle; there is no contractual purchase option. Excess mileage, damage beyond the funder’s fair wear and tear standard, missing equipment or other contractual charges may still be payable. Check the return process before choosing your agreement.

Maxus MIFA 7 leasing questions

Is the Maxus MIFA 7 a car or a van on this route?

This IVF route covers the electric passenger MPV. It is separate from Maxus van routes. Use the supplied vehicle’s passenger-car documentation and applicable car tax rules, rather than transferring van treatment from another Maxus model.

Is MIFA 7 currently marketed in the UK?

Yes. Maxus UK has a current MIFA 7 model page and brochure enquiry route. IVF lists three seven-seat derivatives. A specific vehicle’s supply and timing remain subject to written confirmation.

Which MIFA 7 versions are listed?

The capture shows 180kW Elite 7 Seat 77kWh, Luxury 7 Seat 77kWh and Premium 7 Seat 90kWh, all automatic. Request the manufacturer specification for the exact model year and derivative in the quote.

Does Premium just mean a bigger battery?

The IVF Premium entry combines a 90kWh battery label with a different trim name. Compare the equipment sheet as well as battery capacity. Do not assume the only distinction from Elite or Luxury is stored energy.

How much range should I plan for?

The UK-linked brochure gives 254 miles WLTP combined for Elite/Luxury 77kWh and 298 miles for Premium 90kWh. Match its model-year and 18-inch-wheel specification to the offered car. Weather, speed, passengers and luggage affect actual distance.

Will seven passengers fit with airport luggage?

That needs a practical test with all required seats occupied and the actual bags. Capacity measured with seats folded cannot answer a seven-passenger question. Check safe loading and the vehicle’s permitted limits in its handbook.

Can a business lease a MIFA 7?

IVF can assess Business Contract Hire for the passenger vehicle, subject to status and availability. Explain the intended use, particularly any paid passenger transport, so contract and insurance permissions can be checked explicitly.

Can I lease a MIFA 7 for family use?

Personal Contract Hire is the private-driver route for assessment. Test access with your family, child seats and luggage, then confirm home or regular charging and realistic mileage before choosing the agreement.

What warranty does Maxus publish?

The UK-linked brochure states five years or 62,000 miles for the vehicle and eight years or 125,000 miles for the battery. Confirm the full terms, start date and battery conditions for the supplied car; warranty is separate from maintenance.

What tax basis applies to an electric MIFA 7 company car?

For a qualifying zero-emission company car available for private use, the BiK path is 4%, 5%, 7% and 9% from 2026/27 to 2029/30. Apply it to the correct P11D value and confirm the passenger-car classification.
