Intelligent Vehicle Finance helps you compare Toyota Proace leasing for medium-van deliveries, service work and specialist equipment. Choose the panel, crew or conversion requirement first, then check diesel or electric suitability. Toyota Professional support, finished payload and responsibility for any fitted body should be considered alongside the finance agreement.
A Proace quotation becomes useful when it describes the job after the body is fitted. A retailer carrying ambient goods, a business moving chilled products and a service operator carrying fixed equipment can need very different versions of the same medium van. Start with what must arrive at the destination, in what condition, and how it will be loaded and removed.
Proace is larger than Proace City, while the passenger Proace Verso is a separate vehicle route. Keep the commercial body and its tax category clear. If a compact City can handle the full load, the larger van may be unnecessary. If insulation, machinery or tall cargo consumes too much Proace space, investigate an appropriate larger vehicle rather than relying on the unconverted panel van's capacity.
Describe the goods, equipment and delivery conditions your Proace must handle, including any temperature-controlled body requirement.
| Van | Why compare it | Resolve before ordering |
|---|---|---|
| Toyota Proace | Toyota Professional support and listed specialist conversion routes. | Who maintains and warrants the base vehicle and installed body? |
| Peugeot Expert | A related medium van for team and equipment layouts. | Does the finished crew and load arrangement fit the job? |
| Vauxhall Vivaro | A defined equipment schedule for repeat fleet orders. | Are the required features consistent across the quoted vehicles? |
Compare finished specifications. Shared platform relationships do not prove identical UK support or conversion terms.
The UK Proace brochure retained for this guide is dated April 2025 and remained linked from Toyota's current model page at the September 2026 check. It gives Medium and Long panel-van load floors of 2,512mm and 2,862mm, with ordinary volumes of 5.3m³ and 6.1m³. These are named brochure references, not a claim that every current or older listing is identical.
Smart Cargo on the appropriate version extends the quoted lengths to 3,674mm or 4,026mm and volumes to 5.8m³ or 6.6m³. The folding-seat and bulkhead arrangement changes how the space is used. It does not create a full-width compartment of that length. Check the proposed installation before assuming that its equipment, partition or insulation can coexist with Smart Cargo.
For regular deliveries, measure the packaged goods and the clear opening after conversion. Allow for wheel arches, shelving, door furniture and the lifting method. A body that holds the required number of containers on paper may still be inefficient if the last delivery cannot be reached without unloading earlier ones. Ask the installer for the finished internal dimensions, not just the base-vehicle drawing.
IVF's captured Proace catalogue contains diesel chilled and freezer descriptions as well as panel, crew and platform entries. Their presence is an invitation to discuss a specification, not proof that a particular conversion is available immediately or meets your operating standard. State the required temperature range, product, route duration, loading frequency and overnight arrangements.
Ask who supplies the refrigeration equipment, how it is powered and what conditions its stated performance assumes. Frequent door openings and warm goods introduced during the route are different from transporting a pre-cooled load with the doors closed. Obtain the converter's written specification and assess it against the business's own handling requirements. A generic van description cannot establish suitability for food, medicines or other regulated goods.
Insulation, the refrigeration unit, auxiliary equipment and internal fittings use weight and space. The final payload must be established after that work. Toyota's April 2025 brochure lists 1,400kg for the named Medium 50kWh Electric panel-van reference, but this is neither a universal Proace payload nor a converted-vehicle allowance. Confirm the supplied model year's weights, driver definition and axle limits before making a load calculation.
Toyota UK lists Proace Electric and diesel versions, checked 28 September 2026. The retained April 2025 UK brochure describes a 75kWh battery with a 100kW motor and a combined WLTP range spanning 132 to 215 miles across the specified configurations. Its 75kWh charging reference is 0-80% in approximately 45 minutes on a suitable 100kW rapid charger. These older named benchmarks require confirmation against the actual vehicle quoted.
The current website and catalogue use some different range, charging and engine descriptions. Resolve those differences before planning the working day; do not combine a current headline range with a charging time from a different battery. IVF lists 50kWh and 75kWh electric labels, older 1.5-litre and 2.0-litre diesels and newer 2.2-litre descriptions. Request one consistent technical sheet for the offered derivative.
Electric suitability depends on the energy used by the whole installation as well as propulsion. Ask the converter how auxiliary equipment affects the vehicle and whether separate standby power is needed. Test the duty with realistic loads, stops and temperatures, retaining a reserve for disruption. Where dependable charging or conversion data is unavailable, keep the powertrain decision open while the operating requirements are resolved.
Toyota's current UK proposition describes an initial three-year manufacturer warranty followed by conditional cover activated by qualifying servicing, up to ten years or 100,000 miles. Do not read that as unconditional ten-year cover from registration. Check eligibility, exclusions, service intervals and the mileage expected during the lease. A high-mileage delivery van may reach a limit well before the maximum age.
Toyota Professional also describes roadside and service support. Establish the terms that accompany the supplied vehicle and the capability of the intended workshop. A courtesy vehicle is subject to availability and may not reproduce a chilled body, load restraint or specialist installation. Decide how the business would continue the actual delivery task during downtime.
The converter may provide a separate warranty and service schedule for its equipment. Agree who diagnoses a fault affecting both the base van and the conversion, who authorises repair and which workshop can carry it out. Ask whether routine maintenance of the installed equipment is included in any proposed maintenance package. Vehicle servicing alone may not cover it.
The IVF capture includes Active, Icon, Icon Premium and Sport labels across different bodies and powertrains. Confirm the included bulkhead, seating, assistance systems and charging equipment for the model year offered. A current grade description should not be pasted onto an older catalogue entry simply because the name is familiar.
Toyota Proace is part of the commercial-vehicle collaboration with Stellantis and is related to Peugeot Expert and Vauxhall Vivaro. Similar architecture can make body comparisons useful, but the UK grade, conversion programme, warranty and local support are separate purchasing considerations. Use the same finished-body requirement when comparing quotations so that one base van is not being judged against another fully installed vehicle.
Before ordering, obtain funder consent for the proposed conversion where required and agree the return condition. Keep the completed body's drawings, weights and service instructions with the vehicle records. These documents help the driver, workshop and business understand the exact Proace that is being operated throughout the lease.
GOV.UK sets the 2026/27 standard van benefit at £4,170 for chargeable private use of a qualifying non-zero-emission van. The separate van fuel benefit is £798 where it applies. The individual’s actual tax depends on their circumstances.
A qualifying zero-emission Proace has a nil van benefit because the current calculation is 0% of £4,170. Other commercial vans can fall within the business-use exemption if its conditions, including commuting and insignificant private use, are met. Have the accountant review the use arrangement.
For a term spanning 2027/28, 2028/29 or 2029/30, check each later year’s van rules. A passenger-car percentage table is not a substitute. Check GOV.UK benefit amounts and the exemption rules; verified 28 September 2026.
Vehicle Excise Duty (VED). Qualifying TC39 light goods vehicles registered from 1 March 2001, with revenue weight up to 3,500kg, have a £360 single annual payment for 2026/27, including electric vans. Verify the finished vehicle’s tax class and lease terms. GOV.UK light goods VED checked 28 September 2026.
Expensive Car Supplement. The Expensive Car Supplement is not an additional charge for a TC39 commercial Proace. Confirm the registered classification where a specialist body is involved.
Planned eVED. The July 2026 response excludes vans from eVED when it is planned to begin in April 2028. Review any later policy changes during the term. Published eVED response.
VAT recovery on van hire depends on the business and use. A commercial Proace should not automatically receive the passenger-car rental restriction. Use HMRC’s VAT guidance and IVF’s van leasing VAT guide as the starting framework.
Give the accountant both the finance agreement and conversion details. Deductions, capital allowances and accounting treatment need their own assessment; van benefit status does not establish the treatment of every part of the project.
Discuss the vehicle and agreement together. Call 01752 429950 or request a callback with your business requirements.
Tell IVF your annual mileage, crew, loads, towing, fitted equipment, charging access where relevant and preferred timing. Ask for the precise model year, derivative, options and registration status to be written into the quotation. The catalogue is a starting point; the offered vehicle and funder terms need confirmation.
Business Contract Hire is taken by the business; Personal Contract Hire is taken by the private individual. Both are subject to status and individual funder criteria. Compare the initial rental, term, mileage, maintenance and applicable fees on the same basis. An initial rental is part of the hire cost, not refundable security or ownership equity.
A manufacturer warranty starts under the supplied vehicle’s warranty terms, normally from first registration. Its time and mileage limits may finish before your lease does. It is separate from optional servicing and tyre cover. Confirm maintenance inclusions, insurance responsibilities, tax provisions and early-termination terms before signing.
At the end of contract hire, return the vehicle; there is no contractual purchase option. Excess mileage, damage beyond the funder’s fair wear and tear standard, missing equipment or other contractual charges may still be payable. Check the return process before choosing your agreement.

No. Proace is Toyota’s medium van, while Proace City is the compact model. Compare the actual goods, equipment and working access before selecting the larger body.
This guide covers the commercial Proace van. Passenger Verso specifications and tax assumptions belong to a separate vehicle choice and should not be transferred into the van quotation.
The captured catalogue includes diesel chilled and freezer descriptions. Discuss the required temperature, product and route with IVF, then obtain the converter’s exact specification and availability through the quotation process.
No. Insulation, refrigeration and fitted equipment affect the finished vehicle. Obtain the completed weights and axle limits, including the relevant driver allowance, before deciding how much cargo can be carried.
Do not assume so. It depends on the appropriate seat and bulkhead configuration, and a conversion may change or obstruct it. Have the installer confirm the layout and usable dimensions.
Yes, Toyota UK lists it at the September 2026 check. Match the battery, body and model year to one technical specification before using range or charging figures for an operating plan.
The complete installation needs assessment. Ask how auxiliary equipment is powered, what energy it requires and how it performs on the actual delivery cycle. A base-van range figure does not answer those questions.
No. Cover beyond the initial manufacturer warranty is linked to qualifying servicing and has age, mileage and other conditions. Confirm the terms relevant to the vehicle and the lease mileage.
Agree responsibility before ordering. Base-vehicle warranty, converter warranty and maintenance packages are separate, and a fault involving both systems needs a clear diagnosis and authorisation route.
Yes. Toyota’s commercial-vehicle collaboration with Stellantis produces related medium vans. Compare UK equipment, conversion support and servicing terms individually rather than assuming the same badge-independent package.
