A Porsche enquiry is strongest when it explains what you want to keep from the driving experience and what the car must do around it. A 911 used for weekend trips, a Taycan covering client visits and a Cayenne carrying family luggage require different compromises. A larger body or a more powerful derivative does not automatically improve the part of the experience that matters to you.
For a company-car driver, the electric choices deserve attention, but they still need a practical charging and passenger assessment. For a private driver, roof type, seating position and how easily the car accommodates everyday tasks may outweigh a tax comparison that does not apply to the agreement.
When comparing Porsche lease deals, list the exact equipment rather than relying on the trim title. Wheels, seats, chassis options and driver assistance can materially change the car being discussed. An offered vehicle with a different configuration is an alternative, not a like-for-like quotation.
Use these Porsche model pages to compare the body and powertrain that fit your brief. Catalogue presence is not confirmation of supply; the exact vehicle and agreement are checked at enquiry.
| Model page | Body and powertrain | Decision to make |
|---|---|---|
| Macan | SUV; electric range and petrol references | Identify the generation and powertrain before using any specification or tax figure. |
| Cayman | Petrol fixed-roof sports car; production ended | No normal petrol factory-order assumption. Confirm any specific remaining vehicle. |
| Boxster | Petrol open sports car; production ended | Different roof and luggage task from Cayman; remaining supply needs confirmation. |
| Cayenne | SUV and Coupe; petrol and E-Hybrid | Compare roofline, plug-in routine and exact equipment. |
| Panamera | Four-door grand tourer; petrol and E-Hybrid | Confirm current body and model year; older Sport Turismo descriptions are not interchangeable. |
| Cayenne Electric | Electric SUV | Separate its charging and technical data from combustion Cayenne. |
| Taycan | Electric saloon and Turismo bodies | Choose rear headroom and load opening before battery or performance specification. |
| 911 | Sports car; body and engine vary | T-Hybrid is not a plug-in commuter hybrid; name the exact body and derivative. |
| 718 family | Petrol sports-car family; production ended October 2025 | Use Cayman and Boxster for body choices; no successor delivery date is promised. |
Current model families and retained 718-related routes are shown together for navigation, with status made explicit. Production ending does not prove a particular remaining new car is available. No electric 718 launch or delivery date is assumed, and older Panamera Sport Turismo references require model-year identification.
Taycan, electric Macan and Cayenne Electric require battery-electric journey planning. Their specifications belong to the individual generation and derivative, so one range or charge-time figure cannot describe the entire Porsche electric family. A Macan enquiry must distinguish electric from petrol before performance, luggage or tax data is useful.
Cayenne and Panamera E-Hybrid models combine plug-in operation with an engine. They work differently from a 911 T-Hybrid, which is a performance-hybrid system rather than a plug-in commuter arrangement. The word hybrid therefore cannot answer either the charging question or the company-car-tax question on its own.
If a petrol sports car is the objective, say so. A 911, Cayman and Boxster have different bodies and model-status considerations. The petrol 718 family has ended production, so keep any specific remaining-car enquiry separate from assumptions about a future electric successor.
A Porsche business lease should start with the genuine use case and the company’s decision process. The driver’s BiK and the company’s lease commitment are separate calculations. An electric Taycan can have a different tax profile from a petrol 911 without making either a suitable company vehicle for every business or driver.
VAT-registered businesses can normally reclaim 50% of the VAT on qualifying car rentals where private use is available, depending on circumstances and the normal VAT rules. Full rental-VAT recovery requires exclusive business use with no private availability. Maintenance can fall outside the rental block when it is genuinely optional, separately described in the contract and separately quantified on the invoice; recovery remains subject to normal VAT rules. Read HMRC’s motoring VAT guidance.
The hire-cost rules normally disallow 15% of otherwise deductible rentals for cars above 50 g/km, subject to their scope and exceptions. A company-car BiK easement does not establish relief from this restriction. Check HMRC’s car-hire deduction rules.
For accounting periods beginning on or after 1 January 2026, revised FRS 102 generally requires a right-of-use asset and lease liability for lessees, including small companies using Section 1A. FRS 105 lease accounting for eligible micro-entities was not changed in the same way. Contract hire therefore does not universally keep a car off the balance sheet. Ask your accountant to apply the right framework; HMRC summarises the accounting standards.
Flat Rate Scheme users generally cannot reclaim VAT on recurring car-hire payments. Ask your accountant which VAT regime applies before using the recovery examples above.
For Porsche PCH, decide how often the car will carry passengers and luggage, where it will be parked and the driving occasions you value. A convertible can be compelling for leisure use, while a fixed roof or a different load opening may fit the rest of your week more comfortably.
Consider insurance and maintenance before finalising performance or wheel choices. Annual mileage should include the trips you want to enjoy, not just the minimum necessary commute. Confirm early-termination provisions and the return standard so the agreement suits the whole intended period.
The electric Porsche percentage is a starting point for the driver’s tax calculation, not the tax charged on the rental. P11D and personal circumstances still matter. E-Hybrid and petrol derivatives require their own certified data; a performance-hybrid name should never be used as a shortcut to a favourable band.
For an employee or director with private use, the taxable benefit normally starts with the car’s P11D value multiplied by the applicable BiK percentage. Personal tax then depends on the individual’s income tax rate and any relevant adjustments. The percentage is not the tax rate applied to the lease rental. A sole trader’s own business car use follows different rules.
The agreement can cross several tax years. Compare the whole path, not just the percentage in the year the car arrives.
| Tax specification | 2026/27 | 2027/28 | 2028/29 | 2029/30 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Zero-emission electric car, where applicable | 4% | 5% | 7% | 9% |
| Qualifying PHEV: 1-50 g/km; certified electric range 30-39 miles | 14% | 15% | 18% | 19% |
| Qualifying PHEV: 1-50 g/km; certified electric range 40-69 miles | 10% | 11% | 18% | 19% |
| Qualifying PHEV: 1-50 g/km; certified electric range 70-129 miles | 7% | 8% | 18% | 19% |
| High-CO2 petrol or qualifying diesel at the maximum band | 37% | 37% | 38% | 39% |
These are conditional tax bands, not assigned rates for every Porsche. Confirm the supplied car’s P11D, certified CO2, fuel type and registration date. Diesel supplements can apply where the required emissions certification is absent, subject to the annual maximum.
The electric-mile figures above are HMRC band thresholds, not promises of this car’s driving range. Newer plug-in hybrid certification can show more than 50 g/km. A temporary company-car easement may treat an eligible car as 1 g/km where the registration date, electric range and Euro-status conditions are met; it is not automatic and must not be transferred to lease-rental deductions. Check the vehicle documents and HMRC’s plug-in hybrid conditions with your accountant.
Use our company-car BiK guide alongside HMRC’s 2026/27 and 2027/28 tables and the published 2028/29 and 2029/30 changes. Tax information checked 24 September 2026 against the C1 ledger and its primary sources. Tax treatment depends on individual circumstances and may change; consult your accountant.
Vehicle Excise Duty (VED). For 2026/27, the standard annual VED payment after the first year is £200 before any supplement. First-year VED depends on CO2 and registration rules; zero-emission cars currently have a £10 first-year rate. These cash rates apply to 2026/27 only; later annual VED rates are not confirmed here. Ask how the funder treats tax increases during your agreement.
Expensive Car Supplement. The Expensive Car Supplement is £440 a year in 2026/27 for five years from the second licence. The list-price threshold is more than £40,000 for petrol, diesel and hybrid cars, or more than £50,000 for qualifying zero-emission cars registered from 1 April 2025. Use the published list price before discounts, including relevant options, and check the registration date. Plug-in hybrids do not receive the electric-car threshold. GOV.UK explains VED and the supplement.
Planned eVED. The government plans Electric Vehicle Excise Duty (eVED) from April 2028, alongside VED: 3p per mile for electric cars and 1.5p per mile for plug-in hybrids. This is proposed for April 2028, subject to legislation and implementation; it is not a charge currently in force. The stated rates are planned starting rates, with CPI uprating proposed from 2029/30 and later cash rates not confirmed. An agreement spanning introduction needs the funder’s written treatment of the charge and later changes. Check the government’s consultation response and final implementation guidance before committing.
Plan electric Porsche charging around the car’s usual parking locations. Home charging can support routine journeys, while a reliable destination or en-route plan matters for longer trips. A very high peak charging capability is only useful when the charger, battery condition and temperature allow the car to use it.
Use the exact derivative’s official energy reference as a comparison tool, then allow for speed, weather, passengers and wheels. A manufacturer maximum is not a promise of the distance you will travel between stops. Likewise, an E-Hybrid’s charged laboratory consumption should not be extended unchanged to a long journey after its electric charge is used.
Petrol drivers should include the selected car’s fuel requirement and realistic use pattern. Frequent short trips, a long touring holiday and regular motorway travel have different implications. Discuss those patterns without assuming a performance badge guarantees either high or low running costs in your circumstances.
Porsche’s UK warranty documents provide up to three years of manufacturing-defect cover from the warranty commencement date, with separate documents for combustion, battery-electric and E-Hybrid vehicles. Confirm the applicable document and first-registration date for the car offered. Battery protection has additional terms; it is not identical to the general vehicle cover.
Ask which servicing arrangement the funder requires and what an optional maintenance package covers. Tyres, brakes and other wear items need an explicit answer, particularly where the car carries performance equipment. If the agreement runs beyond the original warranty, establish how later repairs are handled rather than assuming the lease itself extends manufacturer cover.
Test the seats and the driving position in a representative specification. Optional seats can change access and adjustment, and a cabin that suits one driver may be awkward for another who regularly shares the car. Rear seats should be assessed for the actual passengers, not just counted from a brochure.
For Taycan, compare the saloon and Turismo loading tasks using your luggage. For Cayenne, look at the SUV and Coupe with the rear seats occupied. For Panamera, identify the current body being quoted rather than applying older Sport Turismo information. These decisions should be settled before comparing performance levels.
Check ground clearance, driveway ramps, garage width and the space needed to open doors. If towing or a roof carrier is essential, confirm approval and equipment for the particular car. A Porsche badge cannot establish that a specific accessory or use is supported by the manufacturer, insurance and lease agreement.
Tell IVF your annual mileage, regular passengers, essential equipment, charging access where relevant and preferred timing. Ask for the precise model year, derivative, options and registration status to be written into the quotation. The catalogue is a starting point; the offered vehicle and funder terms need confirmation.
Business Contract Hire is taken by the business; Personal Contract Hire is taken by the private individual. Both are subject to status and individual funder criteria. Compare the initial rental, term, mileage, maintenance and applicable fees on the same basis. An initial rental is part of the hire cost, not refundable security or ownership equity.
A manufacturer warranty starts under the supplied car’s warranty terms, normally from first registration. Its time and mileage limits may finish before your lease does. It is separate from optional servicing and tyre cover. Confirm maintenance inclusions, insurance responsibilities, tax provisions and early-termination terms before signing.
At the end of contract hire, return the vehicle; there is no contractual purchase option. Excess mileage, damage beyond the funder’s fair wear and tear standard, missing equipment or other contractual charges may still be payable. Check the return process before choosing your agreement.
Use the dedicated model pages for the body and powertrain you prefer. For a large-SUV brief, compare Range Rover Sport and the wider Land Rover range; BMW and Mercedes-Benz provide other relevant prestige alternatives.

Most people who search for Porsche finance are weighing three different agreements, and the right one depends on whether you want to hand the car back, keep your options open, or own it outright. Intelligent Vehicle Finance arranges all three through its panel of funders, so we can compare them on the same car before you commit.
| Question | Contract hire (business or personal) | Personal contract purchase (PCP) | Hire purchase (HP) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Who owns the car | The funder, throughout | The funder until you pay the optional final payment | The funder until the last payment, then you |
| At the end | Hand it back | Hand it back, part-exchange, or pay the optional final payment and keep it | You own it |
| Mileage and condition | Agreed limit; excess mileage and damage beyond fair wear and tear are charged | Agreed limit if you hand it back or part-exchange | No mileage limit on ownership |
| VAT for a VAT-registered business (car available for private use) | Normally 50% of the VAT on rentals recoverable | Not usually used for business cars | VAT on the purchase price is normally not recoverable for a car available for private use |
| Suits | Drivers who want a new Porsche every few years and a known monthly outlay | Private buyers who want flexibility at the end | Buyers who want to own the Porsche and keep it |
For a limited company, contract hire usually suits a car that will be replaced on a cycle, and business contract purchase or hire purchase suits a car the company intends to own. The company-car tax (Benefit in Kind) charge on a company-provided car is the same whichever agreement funds it; see the tax section above and our company car tax guide. Your accountant should confirm the treatment for your business.
Private drivers can compare personal contract hire with personal contract purchase. Every agreement is subject to status and affordability, and the funder decides whether to lend. Intelligent Vehicle Finance is a credit broker, not a lender, and receives a commission from the funder when an agreement completes; we will tell you how that commission works before you proceed. Tell us the Porsche you want, how long you expect to keep it and roughly how many miles you drive, and we will set the options out side by side in writing.
Yes, IVF can discuss Business Contract Hire around your business, driver and vehicle requirements, subject to status and individual funder criteria. Separate the company’s lease commitment from the driver’s tax and confirm the precise Porsche specification.
Match the body, model year, engine or battery, wheels and options, then compare term, mileage, initial rental and maintenance. A different seat or chassis specification can change the car as well as the quotation.
The Macan route can contain references to both. Identify the generation and propulsion before discussing technical data or tax. Current electric Macan information cannot be applied to a petrol catalogue vehicle, or vice versa.
No. It is a different performance-hybrid system from the plug-in E-Hybrid approach in relevant Cayenne and Panamera models. Do not assume it needs charging or receives the same company-car percentage as a qualifying plug-in hybrid.
Porsche confirms petrol 718 production ended in October 2025. A retained Cayman, Boxster or 718 listing does not establish a new factory order. Any remaining new-car supply must be checked individually.
No. This page does not establish a UK order specification, allocation or delivery date for an electric successor. If timing matters, discuss a confirmed current alternative while following the manufacturer’s announcements.
Compare passenger space and loading first, then the electric Taycan with the precise petrol or plug-in hybrid Panamera. Charging routine, equipment and the multi-year tax position can matter more than comparing performance figures.
No. Electric cars are subject to applicable VED rules, and a qualifying car above the electric list-price threshold can also incur the Expensive Car Supplement. Ask the funder how the agreement handles these charges and later changes.
It covers the agreed vehicle, term and mileage, with named specialist support and free UK delivery through IVF. Confirm road-tax provisions, optional maintenance, insurance, equipment and any applicable fees in the written agreement.
Under contract hire, return the car under the agreed mileage and condition rules; there is no contractual purchase option. Retain service records, keys and accessories, and plan any replacement without assuming the next car will arrive on collection day.
Tell us the Porsche experience you want, the practical requirements it must meet and your intended mileage. We can help define a precise quotation.
